The Mayor's Shady Phone Tax Bamboozle
The Mayor has got the City Clowncil to place a tax on cell phones and long distance calls on the ballot.
However the Clowncil must come back next week and declare an emergency so that it can be placed on a special election ballot during February's Presidential Primary vote. If he can't get unanimous consent here, the measure has to wait until the regular city elections in 2009.
But a money hungry Mayor doesn't want to wait that long.
CityWatch questions the Mayor's failure to bring the tax before Neighborhood Councils. Indeed, this is one of the reasons why Councilman Greig Smith will not support the measure.
Even otherwise aggressive tax and spend liberals on the Council made a few good points as to why this is a bad idea. Councilwoman Janice Hahn told the Daily News, "Here's what my constituents are going to ask me: Councilwoman, it's kind of ironic that the city is declaring a state of emergency when this week we're discussing a 13 percent increase in salaries of our employees."
And in the video below Mayoral candidate Walter Moore makes the case why the City doesn't need this tax money. If we could do a real audit you will see the City is wasting money left and right and generates more than sufficient funds to pay for current services.

What a bunch of assholes? The Cholo gang banging Mayor wants this tax to help the fact that he's been a complete failure as Mayor of this city and has allowed the illegals to use up our city resources. Traffic is horrible because of them. Remember last year when they marched on March 25 how great the easy traffic was? Instead of figuring out where the wasteful of millions was spent and stop the special event waiver abuse, the dumb studies, forgetting to collect fees etc. its easier to tax the voters. It will never pass. People are fed up with the Cholo Mayor taxing them and already via e-mail people are being warned NOT TO BELIEVE the bullshit clowncil will try and scare people into just to get this to pass. Yes we're in a state of Emergency with a bunch of bafoons running this city and not knowing what the hell they're doing.

Dear Concerned Mayor Sam patriots,
Like you, I am outraged at the indifference the leaders of America have toward the immigration crisis.
I refuse to believe that the problem could not be solved if they really wanted to fix it. The real crisis isn't that our borders are being breached, but that those who say they are the spokesmen for America, lack commitment and integrity. In reality, they are confused. Our nation has become so multi-racial that the politicians can't decide which group to offend and which group to support. As the numbers of non-white immigrants increase, the loyalty America's "leaders" have toward the white population will dwindle. It already has. All major parties are courting the non-white vote and the illegal alien (potential) vote - especially!
Read what the remarkable woman Clare Luce Boothe had to say about non-white immigration.
Clare Boothe Luce 1903-1987 was named Woman of the Century after her death. She was a Congresswoman, Ambassador to Italy, and very anti-Communist. She also happened to be the wife of the founder of Time and Life magazines. She worked against the rise of radical feminism and to warn of the non-white alien invasion
Prophetic Insights
She told GEO magazine, "Soon there will probably be as many Mexicans in Texas, New Mexico, lower California, and Arizona-and as many Cubans and Latin Americans in Florida-as there are natives…They are also pouring in from Haiti. Now a vast majority of these are illegal. They’re coming over the border, and they're coming with wives and sisters and nieces who get pregnant immediately because they can then become American citizens and go on relief. I do not know how much more we can absorb…In the 19th century, the U.S. absorbed something like 40 million immigrants. But the vast majority were of a fundamental culture, and they were all white. They were not black or brown or yellow." She went on to say that "to prefer the ways of one’s own culture is not racist." America is being overrun by people who are not given to white Western folkways.
As you look around you today, you can see that Clare knew exactly what she was talking about. But its far worse, than even she imagined.
We are now in the midst of a steady decline in America. It coincides with the decline of the white population. We said it would happen. Will you give up without making your voice heard?

Somewhat racist, no?
And actually a good chunk of people brought into the US during the 19th century were black. And who named this woman "Woman of the Century"?
but then again...YOU'RE QUOTING THE KKK WEBSITE YOU FUCKWAD (pardon the language...but anyone who quotes a KKK website on here should be shot).
I think thats something that even Zuma and Higby will agree with me on.

I'm curious about something.
You folks can pretty much say what you want and you get away with it.
But is it necessary to refer to the Mayor as a cholo, Midget Mexican or other pejorative when indeed there is a wealth of far better terms to describe such as shady, corrupt, philandering, ineffective, dishonest, etc.
I've thought this for a long time though my libertarian sensibilities have prompted me to take no action; the constant racial and semi-racial attacks on the Mayor could seek somewhat obfusicate his true failings irrespective of his ethnicity.
Now you might say that there is some connection between his ethnic identity and his politics, and that's a somewhat fair observation. However its still a generalization - David Hernandez and the Mayor share some of the same DNA at some point but their views couldn't be more different. On the other hand the Mayor's ancestors and those of "Hurricane" Jackie Goldberg originate continents away and the two are leftist comrades in arms.
The other effect I think that the use of the term midget Mexican, et al is that it puts the Mayor's spinner and other assorted lefties into hyperdrive. And then he gets a pass on the actual shadiness when y'all debate how much of a cholo he is or isn't.
And sadly this will divert from the issue at hand, his shady phone tax.
So at some point lets get back to that.

I was going to delete the good Pastor Robb's screed for being off topic and full of shit but I figured I better leave it up for you folks to see a clown in action.
What a bunch of garbage! Yea illegal immigration is a problem for a lot of reasons and its not being addressed. However it makes no difference where the illegals are from. Its just most convenient in this case for MOST of the illegals to be from Mexico. But there are lots more from every other continent.
The influx of immigrants to our country is the sole source as to what made it great. Why? Because each one of these people came here to live life BETTER which means that America is a nation always in search of improvement and results.
The issue of illegal immigration is a seperate one in that through legal immigration we can control the number of bodies the country can absorb. If those controls are thrown off by illegals, then we start having infrastructure issues.
The other issue of illegal immigration is one of fundamental fairness. When the overwheling majority of immigrants come here LEGALLY and have to work their ass off to do it it's patently UNFAIR to let other people slip over the border.

Good morning Mr. Mayor,
A couple of weeks back, I called out the poster of the "Midget Mayor". As someone who counts "AMERICANS OF MEXICAN DESENT" as my best friends. It offends me to no end that someone could use the swallow cause of skin color, to demean someone.
Yet is it me or are certain "P....nistas" are planting the retoric of the "PASTOR OF RACE" to demonize the insight of the Mayor Sam moderators ?
I am finding the real purveyors of "RACE SPEAK" wokk for the supposed "DEFENDEES OF THE WORKING CLASS".

$10.00 per month per telephone number on cell phones(one for computer and another for phone) When it was repealed it went to $4.18. They are nickel and dimeing us to death.
$ 20.00 for phones, $28.00 for trash. $25.00 for water increase. Another $25.00 for electric.$100.00 a month...every month...$1,250.00 a year.
Landlord wants a raise for the $40 tax on the property. And what about the tax on earnings? 10% of your YEARLY earnings?

The real problem is that the City keeps approving density-increasing development without one consideration for the fact that they are getting a lifetime of support for the development.
The pyramid scheme is starting to collapse as all such schemes must collapse.
The phone tax, DWP "surplus" and every other new tax are desperate attempts to prop up a failed policy.
THIS city council and THIS mayor may be the worst of the lot as far as bending over for big-money developers, but the scheme started years ago.
The only thing to get the City out of the mess is for real leaders to step up and replace the developer puppets we have now.
Imagine if the mayor said: “Constituents, we are in a real crisis. We have allowed the city to get developed past our ability to provide services for that development. We need to do two things. First, we need a development moratorium until we can get our services under control. Second, we need revenue to provide those services. I need to ask each of you to help the City out of its current mess. “
The mayor should then push through a package of spending reductions (including his own vehicle fleet) so that the public sees that everyone is feeling the pain. If the mayor and city council took just a 5% pay cut, that would go a long way to get people motivated to reach into their own pockets.
Of course, none of this will happen. A REAL financial crisis will eventually hit and the leaders in office will throw up their hands and say it was their predecessor’s fault.

Mayor Sam I want to educate you a little by many of us who personally know of the Cholo Mayor and are Latino. Is it racist if we are Latino calling him a low life, Cholo gang banging Mayor? No because we are describing our culture and what a negative connotation those words mean. Cholos are usually criminals in the Latino community preying on victims. Gang banging again a negative terminalogy referring to criminal mentality. Many of us Latinos believe Antonio behaves just like that criminal behavior so what is wrong with us referring to him as such? Now if we were WHITE, BLACK, ASIAn and used these words then you could say we were being racist. We're Mexican Americans born and raised in this city and LEGAL AND WE SPEAK ENGLISH. We learned how in order to assimilate into American society. We love this country and are sicken the illegals have ruined it.

In the context of the "POLITICO FORMERLY KNOWN AS ANTONIO VILLARAIGOSA,tony villar ? I concur. After all, those who know the "TONY VILLAR OF NORTHERN BOYLE HEIGHTS", remember him in that vain.

It's questionable this whole notion that non-whites can't be racist; however even if you really are Latino do we need to point out the mayor's race to show he's corrupt?
If he were Italian would you call him a Mafiaoso?
Either way - if he's a crook he's a crook.
My view here is that you immediately turn liberals off and paint conservatives and other opponents of the mayor as racists, which ends the discussion right there, and the mayor gets to get off scott-free to raise taxes, make questionable deals with non-profits, take over the schools and bang reporters.
Understand?

I just delted an over the top, ridiculous, silly, stupid and ignorant comment by someone who thought he was being cute by being super racist.
I probably should not have deleted it but it was a fit of anger.
I won't be politcally correct and outlaw stupid comments but I am going to be pressuring you all to elevate the conversation a bit.
That doesn't mean I am turning into a goody two shoe cause I am still going to hit the guy with a verbal ton of bricks because I can't freaking stand him. I have never found the need to call him cholo, illegal alien, midget mexican or anything like that. Can't you all be a little more creative????

Now lets talk about the shady phone tax bamboozle. Yea yea.

Red Spot, check your sources, Antonio is not from Boyle Heights, he is from City Terrace. We have enough probelms without claiming this slime ball. However, Antonio - or Tony Villar, did have an apartment on Lanfranco near 6th - this is the apartment that got raided by the DEA. He had an attic full of pot plants ready to sell. Ask the neighbors, they remember.

LOL, you win, I use the "NORTHERN BOYLE HEIGHTS" to denote City Terrace. One in the same.

You're asking as if you already know the answer. Tony got thrown out for dealing drugs. He went on to say he got kicked out for not ratting out his friend during a supposedly white on brown or brown on white fight when Cathedral played St. Francis. Not the last time he would use the race card to cover his ass.
Pete Navarro, a former classmate, knows the story. As do many of his old neighbors. Tony used to brag about his drug related expulsion. Somehow, for degenerates, this was a badge of honor - like going to prison.

No check and balance here in Los Angeles as the City Council rubber stamps everything the Mayor brings forthwith.
Just take a look at DWP proposed rate increases that will support “pet projects,” such as the Zoo, the L.A. River, and Mayor’s Low Housing Income Initiative. Should DWP fund projects unrelated to its water and power services?
Here’s a good summation regarding the City’s Legislative body and Mayor. “I think it’s one of the most poorly managed cities in the country,” Jon Coupal, president of the Haward Jarvis Taxpayers Association, said of Los Angeles.
It appears the Council and Mayor are on the same runaway train. I hope two thirds (ten) of the Council jump off that train and start leading this city because that is why they were elected, not to act as a rubber stamp.
