Villaraigosa To Lose The One Good Thing He Has Done As Mayor

Back in November of last year, Mayor V was smart enough to overturn the City Clowncil's and City Attorney's rush to judgment to give firefighter Tennie Pierce a $2.7 million dollar settlement because he claims his fellow firefighters forced him to eat dog food in a racist attack. A little caught observation from Zuma Dogg was that several firefighters claimed that Pierce never even actually ate the dog food. What a difference a near year makes as Villaraigosa has turned tide and will approve a nearly $1.5 million settlement for Pierce.
"I spoke with LA Figherfighters today (outraged by Pierce and his claim) and they told me that they heard he DIDN'T EVEN EAT ANY OF THE FOOD!"
-Zuma Dogg
Lets hope you folks get worked up about this again or it will turn on the floodgates for more insanity like this.

Anybody up for a little hearsay of hearsay?

Big difference between what people will say privately and then testify under oath.

Two of the firefighters demoted for the Pierce incident are Hispanics who say they have proof that he did or laughed at worse, and are mad at being scapegoated. They have attorneys and threaten to sue.

Hey, Jack, the pictures have been out there for a long time, along with the witnesses, which is why some council members felt they had a strong enough case to go to court. Like him shaving a guy's privates, laughing at someone else being wrapped in an "I'm gay" white sheet. Lots of witnesses. It's not zuma dogg's insightful analysis or interviews that have anything to do with it, he just proves that even he can be right once in a while when there is a lot of evidence.

Meanwhile, the usual black "leaders" are outraged the award was "so low" and are urging other firefighters to come forward to make up for it. That's the worst thing, their image will suffer. Except to radical lefties like Earl Olaf Hutchinson in Daily News Opinion, who is also angry that Tennie didn't get enough and sides with these black "leaders." Write to him if you want to make a point.

Open the floodgates? If you've been following City Hall for more than two minutes you'd know this was business as usual. They've been losing and settling cases for bag loads of money for more years than anyone can remember. Get over it.

12:12a, I was speaking to the phrase "...and THEY TOLD ME that THEY HEARD..."

It has nothing to do with pictures, some guy's privates, or "I'm gay" togas.

(btw, are you sure this is the right blog for you?)

Regardless, it's still hearsay and I wouldn't use it to say it proves anything either in court or in a "journalistic" medium...

What's to get worked up about? Villaraigosa has NO ETHICS. DO YOU THINK THAT HE WOULD FIGHT FOR WHAT IS RIGHT, or DO IT BECAUSE IT IS THE RIGHT THING TO DO?

HA HA HA HA HA

Don't you think its racist for the Clowncil and the Mayor to think that IF it went to a black jury the city would lose?

Anyway, DZine said there is a long line of firefighters black, white and latino ready to testify against Tennie.

Sam, so where was Zine? He and Smith chickened out, didn't want to be counted as against.

Yeah, it sure is racist to think a downtown jury would vote by race. Just like in the O J trial, where all the blacks acquitted. Coincidence they split down racial lines, racist to point that out.

But if that is the case, what's the sense of having a City Attorney, since he can't or won't prosecute anything? It's Rocky, dear Council hating Sam, who told them he wouldn't win, any more than he won Brenda Lee's, which cost over 8 mil for her almost seven and a couple of others. Rocky is an incompetent fool, could have requested a change of venue to Simi again. Funny, how outcomes depend on where the trial is. But yeah, anyone who points out the obvious is "racist," unlike of course those who play the race card in the first place.

You're batting zero today, Sam (except for the sure bet of making fun of Jan's fattie fast food plan, abut that's not exactly new).

Morons,

First: An outside law firm - not the City Attorney - lost the Brenda Lee case. It was actually 2 black lawyers, defending a white racist LAFD captian (clever).

Second: There were no blacks on that "Downtown Jury."

Nice if you guys did a little research before you start your hate-mongering...

outrage at the city attorney, now theres a thought...

but ultimately its the voters who put him in there

and prop r

even though on R they got bamboozled first with a lovely shiny new co-mingled ethics and lobbying non initiative

now theres the only thing that Rocky got right
the unconstitutionality of the Prop R INITIATIVE!!!!!

7:40: Why would the city have to hire outside counsel if they had confidence in our esteemed City Attorney? Maybe because he doesn't defend anyone but billboard companies to the best of his ability, such as it is for someone who elevated himself to the Ten Worst List in the whole country?

Gee, downtown juries don't vote any differently from the ones in Simi. Guess that's why there were just different verdicts for O J, where all the blacks voted racial lines, vs. the Mark Fuhrman case in Simi? Even if Fuhrman was actually deserving of acquittal, how do you explain the racial outrage in South Central? Think Fuhrman would have had a fair shake downtown, and I'll take those two black lawyers of yours to a nice little KKK meeting.

Oh, and one more thing: both Rocky's ofc. and the other counsels specifically mentioned the downtown jury issue, per the Daily News.

Seeing as Brenda Lee was a lesbian and black, what white racist defendant are you talking about? You must work for Rocky -- you make no sense in your "defense."

What lawsuits HAS Rocky won, by the way? IF he wasn't afraid of a downtown jury's bias, and the case against Pierce was so strong, why didn't he think they could win this one, at least?

Just a third party observation...

LAW 101. Lee was the "plaintiff." Hare was the "defendant." The black firm didn't defend Lee, they defended the LAFD and the City. Love the outrage, though. Check your DN, genius.

4:34: Sorry you've been losing sleep over justifying Rocky.

Well, if the law firm that lost the claim to Lee to the tune of over $6 million, it doesn't say much about affirmative action, does it?

Zine (who conveniently managed to avoid being at the vote against Pierce, by the way) announced today that he wants to investigate what outside Counsels have done to earn their outrageous fees, considering they either lose all cases, or say they will lose -- in Pierce case, having billed $1.3 million just to tell us that.

Your days with any govt attorney's office are numbered, when you're reduced to defending this crowd.
