Of course the Mayor denies any knowledge of Hsu's activities and had first planned to donate the money to charity but is reportedly now returning campaign contributions to Hsu. The Outlander Blog speculates that because the Mayor is a liberal, the mainstream press is not paying attention to the scandal.

City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo has asked the City Council for $1.1 million just to hire attorneys to review all of the claims against the City that arose during pro-illegal immigration rallies on May 1st.

Obama on the other hand is developing an extensive grass roots field operation in each Congressional District in the state. This might do well to turn Obama votes since delegates are awarded by the vote in each district not statewid. And it may turn out that endorsements such as those of Oprah Winfrey and a number of Hollywood stars could do well to turn out lots of young and minority first time voters for Barack.

It used to be that area codes were few and far between and could easily tell you where someone lived. But now there are so many of them and the usage of telephones has changed so much I don't see where people should really care what their area code is. And in the interested of full disclosure today I pushed 818 a little closer to maxing out myself by acquiring a second cell phone line.
