From the department of failed scare tactics
I received a mailer from some advocacy group urging me to fear Mark Leno’s fire retardant ban, but I’m like, are we spending enough on mental health services? There’s a guy dressed up like a firefighter taking photographs of his burning apartment!

I could not agree with you more.
This is right up there with "If the ports have to mitigate their environmental impacts the cargo will go somewhere else".
Or, "If we cannot move runway 24R 340 feet closer to Westchester, the planes will go somewhere else".
Or how about "If we don't fight them there, we will have to fight them here".
Yeah, or how about "They will follow us home".
Did you see the Doonesbury strip recently about the Iraqi "terrorist" following the soldier Ray home?
If you tell a big enough lie, and repeat it often enough, it becomes the truth.
^ I said that!
Joe:
Well who knew?
I would have guessed Herr Goebbels or Uncle Joe Stalin, or maybe George Orwell. Maybe all of the above.
If you claim credit, it's yours. You must be thrilled to see how many of our local "leaders" have taken up your theory.
Add to the list:
"Los Angeles faces an affordable housing crisis"
"The debate is over. Man is causing global warming"
"Illegal immigrants are doing the jobs Americans will not do"
3:50 they are all a bunch of commies. I still have my list of commies in the State Department.
add to list: Healthcare is a right
