Someone here recently was quoting from the current book about the Mexican Mafia. I have been reading it as well.
There is an amazing section of the book dealing with the highly successful efforts of "la Eme" and its associates to take over, subvert, and corrupt numerous publicly funded drug rehab and gang intervention programs over the years.
It just validates everything bloggers here have been saying about these programs, and worse. This includes a stunning number of murders traceable directly back to these corrupt programs. There is even an extensive discussion of the infamous "No Guns".
What a bonanza for them if La Hahn were to get her tax increase to fund more of these programs.

I guess it is true that a celebrity can get away with murder in Los Angeles, first O.J., then Robert Blake now the crazy Phil Spector. The gang banging cholo Mecha Mayor told LAPD to stay away from MacArthur Park after the May 1st melee because the illegals were afraid. But yeah right they were so afraid they were out the next day illegal vending. So that gave all the 18th Street and MS13 gang bangers free reign all the while the mayor and council did nothing and kept telling the illegals "aqui estamos and no vamos." You watch dumb ass Ed Reyes and Cholo Mayor now DEMAND LAPD be there 24/7 to protect illegals.
Of COURSE Jimmy Blackmon is on the way out. He got his ass kicked all up and down spring street by Zuma Dogg. How much more humiliation is his boss supposed to take. It's like having your bodyguard get beat up on a daily basis by a third grader.

Jan has at least increased the number of Supermarkets in her Council District. As much as I love her, I think she's barking up the wrong tree. I think she should be require physical education back to Elementary Schools (One to really screw with MAyor Beaner-aigosa) and add more parks and clean safe playgrounds so that obese folks can burn the pounds off safely without fear of getting robbed or getting shot in a drive by.

TITLE: Some Oregon schools adopting Mexican curriculum
PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) -- Some Oregon high schools are adopting Mexico's public school curriculum to help educate Spanish-speaking students with textbooks, an online Web site, DVDs and CDs provided free by Mexico to teach math, science and even U.S. history.
The Oregon Department of Education and Mexico's Secretariat of Public Education are discussing aligning their curricula so courses will be valid in both countries.
Similar ventures are under way in Yakima, Wash., San Diego, Calif., and Austin, Texas.
"Students come to us with such complex issues," said Tim King, director of Clackamas Middle College and Clackamas Web Academy, where a virtual course using Mexico's learning materials got started this week.
"We've had to change in order to fit into each school scene, become more complex and open ourselves up to new situations."
Oregon officials say the approach is intended as a supplement to keep students learning in Spanish while also gaining English skills.
Until now, Oregon school districts generally have relied on bilingual aides or used Spanish material different from the English material others are studying.
"That's not enough," said Patrick Burk, chief policy officer with the superintendent's office of the Oregon Department of Education. He said the idea is minimal disruption for immigrant Latinos.
"The availability of resources is astounding," said Burk, who flew to Mexico with Oregon curriculum officials in August to discuss making equivalency standards official. "We're able to serve the students so much better if we're working together."
Mexico has made its national curriculum available to communities across the U.S. since 2001 to encourage Mexican adults and youths to continue an education often abandoned back home due to limited resources.
"We wanted people to be aware that they have to study," said Patricia Ramos, the director of national affairs for Mexico's Institute for Adult Education and National Advisory of Education for Life and Work.

"We're just ahead with all the materials," he said. "We have the Web site where students can do exercises ... they can learn through visual and audio. We were having trouble bringing something that would be familiar to their culture."
In Washington state, nearly 30 schools have already implemented Mexico's curriculum into the classrooms.
In Oregon, learning materials are free, but districts must pay for staff. So far, two computer servers supporting Mexico's Web site cost the state about $10,000 to install and about $2,200 annually to maintain.

With city shelters filled and a surge of further refugee claimants expected to flood into Windsor, Mayor Eddie Francis is pleading for financial help from Ottawa.
"When there is a possibility of adding thousands to the local social assistance system as a result of refugee claimants crossing the border into Windsor, we will become overwhelmed and our current resources will not suffice," Francis wrote in a letter sent Wednesday to Prime Minister Stephen Harper.
Over the past three weeks, 45 families and 31 individuals -- approximately 200 people -- entered Canada at the Detroit River crossings and applied in Windsor for shelter and social assistance after filing refugee claims with the Canada Border Services Agency. Municipal agencies dealing with the sudden influx of mainly Mexican refugee applicants are renting out hotel rooms and bracing for predicted thousands more to come.

Don't blame LAPD either cause Cholo Mayor and Reyes and Huizar told LAPD stay away from that area not to scare the illegals. Mirthala = not talented enough to stick around too much longer in her profession, she was simply okay. Not good looking enough to hold our mayor's attention. Not popular enough to be able to appear in public with him. Too used up by other politicians.
I guess she'll be in Arizona doing local news within a year. If the mayor doesn't dump her first, she'll dump him when his future comes to a grinding halt.
