MATT DOWD AND ZUMA DOGG TO BROADCAST SHADY COUNCIL MEETING AT HOTEL IN SAN PEDRO WITH NO CITY TV 35 COVERAGE

***** UPDATE *****
Sorry I woke up extra cranky, y'all, when I heard the news of this public bamboozle. See, when ZD heard about the San Pedro meetings, last year, ZD guiding mentor Herb Wesson came over to tell me, "Don't worry ZD, you can still have remote public comment." And I said, "Wow, Herb! Thanks for mentioning that to me. Of course now I fully support this concept." (And it DID take away my only concern.)

HOWEVER, AS U CAN SEE...They are NOT allowing "remote public testimony"...AND it is not going to be covered on TV, live or recorded audio or website (NO RECORD) on issues such as policy direction and operational improvements.

So that's some pretty wide ground to cover, virtually behind the peoples' back.

BUT YOU KNOW WHAT...ZD DID MAKE A COMMITTMENT TO MYSELF THAT I WANT TO BE MUCH MORE CHILL IN MY DELIVERY (passionate politician voice...yes. yelling and shouting...no.) AND, less "accusatory", "gotcha" blasting, and more a ZD trying to carry on in the spirit of Dr. W. Edwards Deming. (My original goal in 1991, in the first place.)

So tommorow, when I address Council, for public testimony on agenda item 1 (the only item both days), I will consider it a rare privilidge to address City Council, in a way in which I never have before:

Without cameras, microphones and broadcasts...nothing on record for public inspection at a later date...just ZD and a chance to take everything I have learned this past year or so, and try and tell them what I think Deming would tell them, and bring some new info that I have never released publicly during an official city broadcast, to go "on-the-record".

I'm sure there are a certain percent of CMs who can't wait for ZD to speak, cause it will give them a two minute break to think about something else and not pay attention. But, hopefully, at least a couple CMs will be intriuged by the information I plan on presenting. ALL NEW INFORMATION NEVER PRESENTED PUBLICLY! [NOT ANYTHING DIRECTED AT ANY ONE PERSON...JUST THE SYSTEM AND POLICY, IN GENERAL.]

Really hope I can raise a few eyebrows and bring some new concepts to council's attention. Not because I am smarter. But they have the whole city to run...meetings, staff to deal with, constituent needs, more meetings, phone calls...

Meanwhile, all ZD did this weekend was spend time with about five of ZD "elder mentors" who gave me the "jedi training session from hell" (make that from "sith"), and I tied a lot of things together, and have been presented with some new documentation/research.

I debuted a little of it on Kevin James regarding LAUSD. CLICK HERE FOR ZD ON LAUSD ON 870-KRLA. Forward EXACTLY 30 minutes into interview for LAUSD.

Anyway, hope I make it out...not to give you hell about the shadiness of the meeting...WHY MENTION THAT? IT'S NOT ON TV? SO, It'll be Dave Elliott, internationally published author regarding "Deming's 14 Points", "Maketing Strategy" and cultural trends. If I can keep ZD quiet, with no schtick, maybe some people will finally find out why Anthony Robbins wrote ZD/DE to say, "I think your synthesis (of Deming's 14 Points) is fabulous." And why Dr. W. Edwards Deming himself wrote ZD/DE to say, "I agree with your comments (regarding the grading and ranking of pupils in school). Your article is very well done." So no camera and mics...ZD is gonna put his free speech where his mouth is, and use the opportunity to throw my best pitch to council, not advesarialy, or accusatory...but in the spirit of Dr. Deming and the community. [But that DOESN'T necessarily mean you are going to like it. But hopefully, you will simply respectfully disagree, if that is the case.]

FOR THIS MEETING ONLY:
There will be no Channel 35 coverage, live or recorded audio feed, live and ondemand
video services or remote public testimony.

SINCE THE CITY OF LOS ANGELES DOESN'T SEEM TO BE ABLE TO PULL IT OFF...
MATT DOWD and ZUMA DOGG WILL BE SHOWING UP WITH Wi-fi LAPTOPS AND VIDEO CAMERA, AND WILL BE BROADCASTING THE MEETING LIVE ON www.zumatimes.com WHAT ARE THEY TRYING TO HIDE?
[NOTICE: IT IS UNCLEAR AS TO WHETHER INTERNET WILL MAKE IT INTO CONVENTION ROOM. IF NOT WILL VIDEO TAPE AND POST LATER.]

LOS ANGELES CITY COUNCIL
SPECIAL GOAL-SETTING MEETING
TUESDAY, JULY 10, 2007
10:00 a.m.
PORTOFINO ROOM
DOUBLETREE HOTEL SAN PEDRO
2800 VIA CABRILLO MARINA
SAN PEDRO, CA 90731

SUBJECT
ITEM NO. (1) DIALOGUE and DISCUSSION concerning issues attendant to
Council’s information sharing, partnership in city government, policy
direction and operational improvements.
LOS ANGELES CITY COUNCIL

HERB WESSON...I MENTIONED BACK WHEN YOU FIRST STARTED MOVING MEETINGS OUT OF CITY HALL, THAT IT WOULD MEAN YOU WOULD DO ALL THE SHADY THINGS THAT DAY, CAUSE YOU KNEW ZD WOULDN'T BE THERE. You told me I was being selfish, thinking of myself, instead of the others in the San Pedro area who have to travel far to city hall for public comment. AND NOW THIS.

FROM ZD'S INBOX:

ZD:

If you don't do another thing in your life, you need to attend these two secret meetings of the City Council on Tuesday and Wednesday. You have to wonder why it is that they don't want the public to know about them, but the Brown Act says that they must be run like a meeting. They don't have to permit general public comment on non-agendized items, but they must allow comment on each item, of which there is only one, and it's real vague.

BY THE WAY I CALLED AND REQUESTED ALL THREE SERVICES, BUT OF COURSE NO ONE PICKED UP, AND IT WENT TO VOICE MAIL, I LEFT ONE, IF NO SERVICES, NO MEETING:

UPON 24-HOUR ADVANCE NOTICE, ASSISTIVE LISTENING DEVICES, SIGN LANGUAGE INTERPRETATION, AND TRANSLATION SERVICES WILL BE PROVIDED. CONTACT THE CITY CLERK’S OFFICE AT (213) 978-1059. TDD IS AVAILABLE AT (213) 978-1055.

MY NAME IS ZUMA DOGG, AND YOU HAVEN'T EVEN GOTTEN TO KNOW ME YET!

Can someone tell me in plain English why council is having 2 meetings back to back in San Pedro. Here's something from New York Post. Sound familar???

CORZINE SUV AIDE TRANSFERRED
July 9, 2007 -- THE aide to New Jersey Gov. Jon Corzine who was with him April 12 when he was seriously injured in a car crash was suddenly reassigned last month because the two had become "too close," said an inside source.
Samantha Gordon, a "tall and attractive" 25-year-old, worked for a year as an "intellectual valet" to the governor, traveling with him wherever and whenever he went, much as Huma Abedin is the "body person" who travels with Sen. Hillary Clinton.

Gordon was riding in the middle row of seats in Corzine's SUV when his two-car motorcade crashed on the Garden State Parkway, but she emerged unscathed.

Corzine, 60, was rumored to have been sitting next to her and not in the front seat with no seat belt as he claimed, said our source. This would better explain why Corzine was found in the very rear of the vehicle by responders to the scene.

While Corzine was rushed by helicopter to Cooper University Hospital to treat numerous broken bones and cuts to his head and face, Gordon was taken by ambulance to Atlantic City Medical Center, where she was treated and released.

The source said that after the accident that nearly killed Corzine, Gordon was prevented from talking to the press. Then, two weeks ago, she was told by Corzine's lawyer, Nancy Dunlap - who normally doesn't handle staffers and is known as Corzine's "enforcer" - that she was being transferred to a different job.

ZD, you don't need these listening devices, you're clearly not deaf, just trying to make others so...You admit to wanting to waste taxpayer dollars so you can get in and disrupt a meeting for your own personal revenge, on some other vague thing...

Dude, YOU're building up your own bad karma. As the Dalai Lama says, when you try to hurt others you see as your enemy, as you have for a long time now and want to continue, you are hurting yourself, turning your own soul dark. You're crossing way too many lines here: can't you stop at your legal victory the other day over the t-shirt thing? You made ur point.

Appreciate the advice in a decent manner. So, seriously: What lines am I crossing, cause I never want to cross lines, just walk up to them to make sure they do not get pushed back.

Secondly...yeah...I was STOKED, cause if you look at my final public comment last tuesday july 3 (item 60 on lacity website)...it was the conclusive, "off into the sunset" speech I have been waiting for.

BUT THIS??? AFTER I MENTIONED THIS WOULD HAPPEN AND HERB TELLS ME I AM BEING SELFISH FOR MAKING THIS PREDICTION???

WHAT ARE THEY TRYING TO HIDE???
ALL COMMITTEE MEETINGS ARE CANCELLED, THE REGULAR COUNCIL MEETINGS ARE CANCELLED...

AND NO TV COVERAGE IS THE MAIN B.S. NO COVERAGE MEANS "SOMETHING TO HIDE."

But don't worry, I will be maintiaing the new, more "spirit of resepect" I want to adhere to personally.

The mayor sam personality is a separate one.

Give 'em hell Zuma!

Too bad, sounds like you can't publicly comment. But on the off chance you can spout off, tell Janice Hahn that San Pedro does NOT want greedy developer Bob Bisno to get a zoning change (currently R-1) to build close to 2000 condos on the former Navy housing site on Western Ave. (where 429 single family homes used to be).

Traffic already sucks near there, and although Hahn has said she has not been convinced to change the zoning yet let's keep the pressure on!

Google "Bob Bisno" and "Ponte Vista" for more info.

I'm with 9:33. It's a retreat. The same thing that businesses across the world do yearly - meet, set down goals, share stories and hopefully come out of it with a better sense of priorities and better sense of one another. Yeah, it's silly. But it's nothing new to the business world. And the fact is, you and everyone else can go and listen if you want, thanks to the Brown Act. Three times a week you get to speak at Council meetings on multiple topics. This is two days in the year where the Council gets to bond or whatever. Let them be and it'll all be back to normal on Friday.
