Gang Program Audit? Consider It Done.

Yesterday, City Council decided to spend $500,000 for an audit to see if the $178 million of your money they spend each year on "gang programs" has been a complete waste of money.

$178 million per year? Holy f*cking shi*.
Since being elected, Laura Chick has used the Controller's office for political purposes. She turned on Hahn, who she originally supported, and created the phoney "pay for play" investigation, which gave Antonio, her new boyfriend, the confidence to challenge an incumbent. Why should anyone believe this "audit" isn't another political tool for her to help her friends and punish her enemies?
Walter is right on this one.

It is literally shit. The sleepless man is Antonio "The Liar" Villaraigosa Mayor of Los Angeles.
Jack Dunphy is right on. I do worry that the cops are too demoralized to do anything in the face of another near-riot by or pro illegals, and it is indeed true that the Hispanics on the City Council all supported them. Even Janice Hahn was just critical of the cops. (To the person who comments that Chick singled her out for political reasons: puhleez: Hahn never met a tax increase she didn't like, and racks her brains over how to come up with and push new ones, and she's the main supporter of L A Bridges and other wasteful programs. Her brainless bleeding heart babblings never take fiscal responsibility into account, any more did the other Hahns, who'd do anything to pander to their constituency, the city be damned.)
As a cop, Dunphy leaves us with the disturbing notion, that our city is unsafe in the face of riots, as it was in 92, when cops were ordered to sit and watch the burning and beatings and conflagrations, until it got too out of hand. The gangs knew in advance that would be the case: they'd laid out maps of which stores to hit, and which were to be spared as Afr-Am owned (like the way houses are left standing next door to decimated ones in places like Serbia), and knew the cops were told not to defend property at the expense of political fallout. So we all sat and watched the city burn, the cops forced to watch from their cars...
God help us if the illegals become even more emboldened.

Walter, your right on! I know, I work down in South Central as an LAPD Police Officer, and the status quo in our city governmant has got to change or this city is going to burn to the ground! The racial tension between the black and hispanic communities are growning and the gangs are feeding the fire! How much of our childrens blood is to much before these weak power hungry hacks buy a vowel and decode the message? We NEED more cops!!!!! I could go on and on.
Basically, we are paying warlords to keep the peace in LA, rather than eliminating them. Tony Villar (future governor?) and Bratton (future NYC mayor?) have too much riding on their special interest backers to take them on. The incident at Liemert Park says it all. Let's hope the LULAC/LaRaza victory is short-lived.
LA has finally become a third world nation.
Rob Nelson is a good guy. KABC should put him in that red eye slot.
