Let's see, LA City Mayor/Clinton Co-Chair/LAUSD Takeoverer/JACK WEISS FOR CITY ATTORNEY CAMPAIGN MANAGER (YES, Villaraigosa is also Jackass' Campaign Manager) ANTONIO VILLARAIGOSA'S candiate, Jackass Weissass is target of a much-deserved recall effort that is taking an a bit of momentum. (See signs, tune in radio, read newsapapers, see blogs.)
So now, all of the sudden, there is more urgency to somehow pop Jackass into the City Attorney's seat...ASAP. See, even if Mr. Pompous Skyscraper Building Traffic Congestor DOES NOT actually get re-called...the Mayor's spin crew must feel the "dead on arrival" Mayoral-backed City Attorney candidate will not be electable, by the time the pueblos are done with the PR/recall effort.
So, let's leak all this info about current City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo, to try and force him to step down, or possibly even be removed...which will force a (much sooner) "Special Election" which Jackass could run for, and have a much better chance because a) short notice means tougher for non-Latham & Watkins backed candidates to raise money -- and more importantly, b) will allow Weissass to have a vote before more damage is done to his reputation. (And when I say "damage", I mean time for the word to spread about the truth on this guy.)
THEY HAD THIS STUFF ON ROCKY ALL ALONG...THIS SHIZNIT DIDN'T JUST HAPPEN. Wow! That's a lot of spite in them words. Weiss can't win CA now or later...he is viewed by some as just like Rocky...a press release politican with no substance and no integrity. The release of the info, and much more to come, re Rocky was timed by the Rock himself...hoisted on his own pitard when he pulled his Hilton stunt...and the LA Times has known that Rocky was corrupt and without integrity since he allowed the PC to meet in closed session and change it's policy re the release of officer's names...as one of the top law enforcement officials in LA, Rocky's conduct has brought shame to himself, the CA's Office and all citizens of this City. Take a deep breath...one issue at a time...deal with the issues re Rocky now and later you can deal with "your" issues re the Mayor...

I guess basically what I am saying, is to me, the scariest thing for this city and country, is to let the mayor get his own hand-picked and personally-backed City Attorney into office. I don't think the people realize what a threat to public safety this would be. Do you think I have ANY reason to give a shit over this political stuff?
Do you think I walked into City Hall, off Venice Beach and said, "You know what...this guy Villagrosa, who I never even heard of cause I was living in Vegas during the elections, and wasn't paying attention anyway...you know what, I think this guy is bad news...i have to turn my life upside down, and squeeze every bit of ZD juice, 16 hours a day on radio, TV, blogs, meetings to voice my opinion.
So yeah, Rocky is bad news, too. But that is just going to have a wait on the backburner to make sure the devil doesn't walk through the door.

I'm not trying to be combative...help me understand:
I do not see any other viable City Attorney candidates on deck? If Rocky is forced to step down (for legal or public pressure reasons), that would move up the City Attorney elections. And even though Weisass is damaged goods...even Ironside could win the marathon if no other runners show up.
So yeah, it could be done at the same time (get rid of Rocky, and Weiss is toast and can't win anyway), except he'll win by virtual default.
So, go on...
So now it's all clear to me: leftist- Mexican separatist socialist theologians are dominating the Mayor's agenda and his very brain, and along with not only the Times but the national media, are orchestrating the downfall of Rocky for their own secret purposes, and no one but you is clever enough to figure this out. (Maybe L Ron Hubbard and John Travolta are really behind it all.)
This has nothing to do with the fact that Rocky ripped into Baca, one of the most quietly powerful men in the city, over the Hilton case, while his own seemingly dense wife mistook the city SUV for theme park bumper cars, all without insurance or even a license...

The rules:
Sec. 409. Filling Vacancies in the Offices of Mayor, City Attorney, Controller and Member of the City Council.
Vacancies in the offices of Mayor, City Attorney, Controller and members of the City Council shall be filled by either appointment or election in the manner set forth in this section.
(a) Appointment. The Council may fill a vacancy by appointing a person to hold the office for the portion of the unexpired term remaining through the next June 30 of an odd-numbered year. If any portion of the term remains after that date, the Council shall also call a special election or elections to fill the remainder of the term, and shall consolidate the election with the primary nominating election and general municipal election next following the appointment. If a vacancy is filled by appointment after the first date fixed by law for filing a Declaration of Intention to become a candidate at the next primary nominating election, the person appointed shall hold the office for the remainder of the unexpired term.
(b) Special Election. Instead of filling a vacancy by appointment, the Council may call a special election, and special runoff election, if necessary, by ordinance for the purpose of filling the vacancy for the remainder of the unexpired term. The Council shall provide in the ordinance for the consolidation of the election with any other election and for the procedure for nominating candidates, including the amount of the filing fee, if any, to be paid by candidates and other matters pertaining to the election. In the case of a tie vote, the Council shall decide which candidate receiving an equal number of votes is elected to fill the vacancy.

The LA Weekly revealed how vindictive some in law enforcement can be. People on the street outside city hall think Baca went after Rocky, just like he went after candidates for Sheriff.
