How does any of this get fixed? How do you fight the back-room deals? How do you fight Latham and MAV and all of the entrenched power structures? I fear this city is lost.
This last week was like watching the Vietnam War. Its one big proxy fight, except no one knows who the real players really are.
The system favors those who are willing to break the rules.

You're right...it's no use. Alright Sam, delete the blog. It's not having any effect. That's why they spin here 24/7.
They have all the shady money flyin' in from billionaires, drug cartels, latham and watkins, et al, to flood the communities with smear flyers against incumbants, then buy their way into office, with all the media dollars.
But a few of us want to comment in the comment section of some blog an anonymous, no-connections, regular guy started out of his home...but the hostile, greedy, fear-based, obssesive, controlling people Springsteen was talking about in "Badlands"...can't even give a bunch of losers (including a broke-ass, zero dollar having, homeless outcast) that.
What sad, insecure, fearful, addicted troubled souls we have running the City.
I don't think they can keep up the charade. Like Bradley, they will be relieved when it is over. Huizar will probably duck into some other position, Villar should get out, before he's yanked out for bigger reasons...and Dorthy can wake up in Kansas once again...and this whole scary nightmare can be over.
Mayor Villaraigosa and Posse...take it down a notch. You have reached the highest level. So embrace it. Live for THIS moment. Forget everyone else (cause by now, they have forgotten you), and just burn rubber and do all the right things that you know will actually work. And you can walk out of here with some dignity. Then scold the City for the rest of time what a mistake they made not re-electing you, just as we were on the right path.
You can go down as a martyr, and make huge bucks in the private sector and create the next WCVI!!! Tony, at the end of the day, you're just like ZD was in radio...too street; too real...you're just ready to burst out of your suit for missing out on life while you're stuck in those marathon A.D.D. busting meetings. It's not easy being an island, Tony, in a conforming, society, under the most scrutinous of public spotlight. Even your average "Straight and Narrow" nerd-politician has a tough time. Let alone a free-spirited soul like you. But don't worry, it will all be over soon, and as painful as the withdrawl may be (it took me a few years to get the celebrity cocktail parties out of MY system, too)...you will be glad to be back to you old self. You'll see that you're the same charming guy that people like...but you'll be able to focus on making use of your strengths (schmooze), rather than your weakness (all that A.D.D. busting details that goes along with the creative artistry of running a city.) Like 9am Monday morning budget meetings in radio.

If you want change, you must take action. Complaining isn't enough. Talking isn't enough. Blogging is enough. You need to put your money where your mouth is.
