Mayor Sam's Hotsheet for Tuesday

In case you missed it, Mayor V stories here and here and here.

CurbedLA reports that a writer from Philadelphia was impressed by activity around the Red Line but thinks that Pershing Square is "hands down the ugliest public square" he has ever seen.

East Los Angeles is going to try to do what the San Fernando Valley could not. An effort to commence a cityhood application for the currently un-incorporated part of Los Angeles County has begun. Backers feel the 125,000 population district could be better represented by local government and a City Council as opposed to the current benevolent dictatorship of County Supervisor Gloria Molina. Lets just hope if it happens they don't go the way of Maywood or Bell Gardens or any number of corrupt small cities in Los Angeles County.

What a difference two cities makes. The Los Angeles City Council basically told the US Department of Homeland Security to take a leap when it comes to enforcing immigration laws. On the other hand the City of Costa Mesa in Orange County is considering sending a letter to President Bush urging him to enforce the laws already on the books.

LA Observed reports that it could be the last days of the LA County Raceway in Palmdale. Though the owner of the facility has the right to develop their land, this is a shame as this is the last such raceway in LA County. Though many may view drag racing as the hobby of old white guys, the raceway sees race fans of all ethnicities and backgrounds and literally keeps the kids off the streets. Lets hope a miracle happens.

A religious leader from India is feeling the "tolerance" of liberals who preach "diversity." Not. Amma, a spiritual leader from the state of Kerala made the mistake of hosting her event which attracted 15,000 to the LAX Hilton Hotel, about as popular as a chain store in Sunland-Tujunga with the liberal crowd these days. Local LA labor leaders have decided to snub the internationally known gues. What a way to welcome a dignitary!

Zuma Dogg should join this event. Tom LaBonge is hosting a "summer solstice" hike through Griffith Park.

No wonder Tony Villar and Rockard Delgadillo want to be President of the United States. Records are showing that Bill and Hillary Clinton - who left for Washington in 1993 with very little personal wealth - have amassed upwards of $50 million since leaving the White House six years ago.

The City of Salinas is considering a ban on taco trucks. Who's behind the move? No, not old, Anglo anti-illegal immigration activists but Hispanic owners of brick-and-mortar Mexican restaurants who fear the competition in the Central California coast town. “We all love Mexico, but once you jump on a plane you leave Mexico behind,” said Antonio Campos, the owner of a Mexican restaurant here. “Once you are in America, you have rules, regulations and standards.”

And finally, Tammy Bruce reports on "gay street gangs" that are terrorizing Maryland.

With 150,000 residents, East Los Angeles would not be a "small city" by any measure. So then why the connection to Maywood or Bell Gardens? Because they are governed by Latinos.

Good thing I'm wearing my X-ray specs to read between the lines. Mayor Sam is stating that cities governed by Latinos are bound to be corrupt regardless of size! How insightful.

HEY "STUPIDO",

I guess you can't hold back your glee in voting for "MAYOR GLORIA ROMERO".

Not a very good comparison - East L.A. (never a part of the city of L.A.), becoming a separate city, and the SF Valley trying to. SFV is a part of the city.

One is incorporation the other is secession.

Mixing metaphors, or something, there.

Better comparison probably would be West Hollywood. Why not wish them the luck WH has had as an independent city.

(Hmmm, maybe 7:54 is right).

In any case, the skew is palpable.

Mayor Sam,

Why did you erase my comment?

All I did was back up what 7:54 wrote. Its interesting that you did not include the City of Vernon whose Mayor is anglo and lives in Hancock Park.

Vernon is the most corrupt city in Los Angeles County, yet you purposefully do not mention it.

I was wondering when someone would play the race card...

And its not corrupt Latino cities but corrupt Democrat cities. And sadly those cities mostly have Hispanic majorities who are hard working people getting screwed by their brothers in arms.

Though, nothing any other race has had.

And I've gone after corrupt white administrations: Pomona, Poopy's Pay to Play, GW Bush, Sunland-Tujunga, et al.

So I think you know where you can go play.

Hey this is interesting...

Just thought of it...

When I bring up possible racist motives behind No 2 Home Depot, I'm another liberal playing the race card.

I mention some cities in LA county that are well known to be corrupt and I am anti-Latino racist.

I must be doing someting right.

Nope, two wrong's don't MAKE a right.

Being criticized from both sides can also result from being opportunistic hyper-critical and/or HYPO-critical, too.

When you bring up racist motives as being behind No Home Depot,
you are smearing with no evidence, and you are smearing with a motive.
You are not trying to prove whether or not there is racism, you are trying to discredit a group because you don't agree with them. Shame on You!

Hey Mayorsam,

Just to even the palying field, why don't you take a look at the corrupt Republican city of Alhambra. Councilwoman Barbara Messina is about to be indicted for fundign anti-Latino groups under the guise of Latino GOTV efforts. The city council jsut awarded a contract to two convicted felons - one who plead guilty to trying to bribe another councilman with $25,000 cash. And, just take a look at the porpeorties owned by former Republican mayors Talbot, Paulson and Burke. Just search the Pasadena Star News.

Joe posted a KNBC report with a bunch of white protestors. However, there is one Latino, Vic Castro, who actually speaks! Joe bussed Vic in from East L.A. and paid him to talk just like Home Depot bussed in those people for the hearing.

4:12, Hey moron, the KNBC report showed Asians and Hispanic protesters,
and Vic Castro is a 38 year resident of Sunland-Tujunga. What's your problem, gringo?

Hey u idiot, Vic Castro has lived in Sunland-Tujunga all his life. I should know, he is my football coach at VHHS right here in Tujunga, and is also the Vice Chairman of the Sunland-Tujunga Neighborhood Council. Obviously u r not a resident and have no insight on this subject, because he was not payed like all the Mexicans bussed in, payed, and fed to wear Home Depot t-shirts when they r not even S-T residents. I am proud of my coach because he like a lot of other people here know that a Home Depot will do no good but just bad for the community. Obviously u r another one of those idiots who are buying in to the racist BS campaign put on buy Home Depot and Home Depot enthusiasts.
