MWD: METROPOLITAN WATER DISTRICT OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA

Date: May 31, 2007
To: All Metropolitan Employees
From: Jeffrey Kightlinger, General Manager
Subject: Potential Shutdown of Banks Pumping Plant

Metropolitan has learned that because of recent take and entrainment of delta smelt at the Harvey O. Banks Pumping Plant, the state Department of Water Resources is considering temporarily shutting down the State Water Project pumps. DWR is expected to announce a decision regarding a potential pump shutdown within the next 24 hours.

We will be actively working with DWR and the other State Water Contractors on contingency plans to meet local water demands. We will keep you posted as events unfold.

ZUMA DOGG HITS THE MOVIE SCREEN IN LOS ANGELES: If you saw the camera crew in chambers this week covering "ZD at City Hall" (and Venice Beach), it will be part of pixelodeonfest.com at American Film Institute in Downtown Los Angeles next weekend.

Of course, being a "Special Event" it will be free and open to the public, unlike CM Parks BET Awards "Special Event" that I guarantee is not open to the public. Stop by and see Big ZD, really Big -- on the movie screen. And I am glad to be able to be a part of a City event, in Downtown Los Angeles as a way of giving back a little something to our community. And, if you do come Downtown for the movie...just ignore the aggressive skid row panhandlers who may encroach you. Downtown is vital, otherwise. It just needs some more high end development projects.

Zuma, when it comes to scandal in the City of L.A., you can't do better than No 2 Home Depot in Sunland.

Check out this video. You don't have to watch the whole thing, just fast foward to a little bit after 11 minutes.

In the video, Jim Alger admits that NC's bought emergency supplies from Do-It-Center under the condition that a share of the profits would go to No 2 Home Depot Sunland for its legal costs. Whatever was left over goes to the Congress of NC's, which Alger is a leader of.

You can't NOT post a thread about this scandal, especially with the hearing coming up on June 7. Don't let us down.

Wrong. He is giving a recap of what already happened. In early March at the latest. It is now June. Operator's voice: "Please try again." You're shady.

No. Does that scare you? It should. I am only trying to bring Jim Alger's secret plan with Joe P. to the forefront before the hearing. People have a right to know what they are doing.

YEAH RIGHT!!! It has happened. The only way to prove this wrong is a full audit of the NC's and their purchases. Alger makes it clear that this is a "done deal." After all, isn't he VP of the Congress of NC's? What he says goes.

WTF! Talk about shady!

Appears to be president (and sole employee?) of an engineering or architecture firm EBE Associates

LOL! These stubborn, mean-spirited, combative, corrupt, people-haters bring it on theyselves each and every time. Mr. "City Attorney Said You Can't Tape" had to trip on whatever it is he is trippin on...and now look what is surfacing.

just like when avila got combative and didn't want to answer a simple question that actually would have put an end to my concerns over NC staff participation...but he had to be combative and not answer, then I had to call elsewhere for the answer...and during research, I discovered she was also sitting on 912 review commission. Had Joe have just said, "Zuma, she stepped down from govt relations" (which she did), i would have stopped there...but nooooooooooooo!

10:42p-12:22am...thanks for that info on the video-phobic baseball cap man.

So, when we come downtown and try to avoid the panhandlers, just how do we distinguish them from ZD?

They look, dress, talk and smell the same.

FYI Bradley is a wonderful volunteer for the city and has done amazing job with organizations and setting up meetings in the community to help empower people. He's a doer not a whiner who sits on his ass and complains. He has a lot of support throughout the city and truly cares about people. So what if he's an archietect, good for him. He's not a drug addict or gang banger.

As John F. Kennedy would say "Ask not what your country (CITY) has done for you, Ask what have you done for your country (CITY. The haters on this thread are probably the lazy assholes who drink beer and do nothing.

And to the idiots who attack Zuma get up off your ass and go to council and speak out you moron. At least Zuma has passion and can't say "he's getting paid" for his advocacy for the people. He's is really moving up in the world and although he may not have the money right now, trust me he will be rewarded because he's doing a service for the people.

6:12, he may be a wonderful volunteer but as documented yesterday, he's also an arrogant a'hole who tried to intimidate a stakeholder for recording the GPNC meeting.

Did the City Attorney's office really tell Bradley she could not tape a public meeting? If so, who told him that???

Bradley was one of former DONE GM Greg Nelson's "star" pupils in the early days of the NC system. They used him in a DONE documentary that played over and over on Ch. 35 about how to run an NC that's "receptive" to the community's needs, ..... and we're to believe he's totally ignorant of the Brown Act???

Tell us, why does he hide his full name??? Why didn't he want to girl to tape the meeting???

Apparently, Bradley was elected as a "resident" board member of one area of Glassell Park, but actually lives in a completely different area. ???

And, DONE ruled in Bradley's favor because he was "self-affirming" his residency - even though he doesn't live in that area. ???

Bradley = architect....

Bradley and his ilk wants to gut the Hillside Ordinance and the Mt. Washington-Glassell Park Specific Plan so developers can put McMansions in the hillsides and waive developers' responsibilities for creating the infrastructure to support the development that they want to cash in on.?????

LOTS of shadiness going on here. Time for answers.
