Kevin James Correctly Evaluates Villaraigosa's Vice-Presidential Goals

Kevin James has inferred, as has yours truly in the past, that Villaraigosa hopes to become Hillary's vice-presidential candidate. The goal became apparent almost as soon as Villaraigosa went from his position as pretend Council Member to pretend Mayor. Why else would L.A.'s Mayor go traipsing around the world posing for photo-ops? He needed to build up a collection of nice photos for the collage during the Democratic National Convention.

Does anyone out there think Villaraigosa would survive the Vice-Presidential vetting process? Anyone think Hillary will promise him some other position and, if so, what would it take for him to pass up the chance to become governor? Ambassador to Mexico? To El Salvador?

Anyhow, if you want local politics at night, listen to Kevin on 870 AM at 9:00 a.m. Hey, everything on TV is re-runs anyway.

One slight and ironic problem: there's a Spanish-language station that crowd into the same bandwith! You may need to re-orient your AM antenna.

Thank you for reminding me there are still a few people left on radio who are not bought by the corporate elite media. That is the only explanation for the insanity I hear on the radio other than your show. Keep up the good work

Villaraigosa was promised Secretary of State position.

Fuck, the GOP was alerted to this idiot's irrational behavior. What will the GOP do? NADA

Hey, does Mayor Villar's wife have TB? Where is she, quarantined?

Actually, it's arguably in the Republican Party's interest to have Villaraigosa run with Hillary. The ads could be fairly hilarious.

Remember how Gray Davis, in the Republican primary, paid for ads to attack Riordan?

all of you are idiots, and this, walter, is why you will never amount to anything other then a wanna be elected official.

the mayor has no plans of being VP, and no consultant in their right mind would advise clinton to pick a mexican as her running mate. She will pick tom vilsack, wait and see.

The mayor is headed to sacramento in 2010, after two terms their he will be well into his sixties and will probably retire. He and all his consultants know that nationally he is dead in the water, people in iowa and new hampshire, no matter how liberal, would not vote for someone so ethnic and with so much baggage.

stop pontificating about this vp crap, its never going to happen and all you do is show how politically inept you are.

Silly stuff. Kevin James is showing his intellectual limits... and it's not pretty.

AV is running for Governor. Period.

I don't agree that Hillary will choose Vilsack (is nailing down Iowa anyone's idea of a sound electoral strategy?).

Hillary paid off Vilsack's campaign debt to help her in the Iowa caucuses, dumb dumb.

She'll choose someone to help her electorally for VP... probably Evan Bayh, whose millions in cash and whose ability to swing Indiana, made him valuable enough to cut a deal with early on.

AV gets something else: Governor of California, with Bill campaigning by his side.

Did he sell his soul? Hillary thinks so. Guess she doesn't know about that little deal with The Devil.... already been done.

It's all irrelevant.

Antonio fucked himself deeply -- because the Democratic nominee will be Al Gore.

Yeah, Villaraigosa wants to be Governor. But a presidential cabinet post is not bad if he has to wait out when Feinstein runs.

Vilsack has no constituency; Richardson is an acceptable Mexican and will be the choice.

It won't matter; Rudy and Fred will make mincemeat of the two of them.

They are hapless, wanna be clones of The Master, and they won't fly with the Republicans, the independents, and about 40% of the Democrats.

Whatever she does, she is still polarizing.

Antonio knows all of this and would not take the VP slot, because it is a loser. His endorsement of Hillary is a flat out trade for prime time appearance in the Democratic Convention.

Kevin's "intellectual limits"...?? try listening a little closer to the show. Kevin said he was "speculating" that AV WANTED to be Hillary's veep selection, and Kevin said that the Clinton vetting process would not approve AV once that process was under way... AV's desire to be Hillary's veep is an explanation for his globe trotting and national travel (at the LA taxpayer expense)... there is no doubt AV wants to be on the national stage (even the LA times mentions that) -- and your missing that demonstrates your "intellectual limits"...

this is insane, absolutely insane. you morons keep using this "AV's desire to be Hillary's veep is an explanation for his globe trotting and national travel (at the LA taxpayer expense)..." line and it makes no sense. the mayor does not travel around the world to gain recognition by any of the presidential candidates. the two have nothing to do with each other. stop saying that. kevin james needs to stop speculating about that. every fucking mayor travels, both nationally and internationally, hahn did it, riordan did it, and god knows bradley did it. nothing new fuck heads.

and I agree with trujillo, clinton will pick evan bayh, he is the perfect fit for her. and for the idiots who think hillary cant win nationally, all she has to do is pick up one extra state that dems didnt win in 04, such as ohio or new mexico, and she is president. its not going to be that hard once she is the nominee

That's why, Dum Dum, she will pick Richardson. Bayh gets her nothing.

It won't be hard to find him; he has his head halfway up her ass already.

Still, Villaraigosa does not seem to miss an opportunity to be photographed no matter the relevance any event may have to the job of running the city. Wasting time on the job is yet another facet of his compulsion.

Meanwhile, the mayor's improved a bit in his enunciation but the cadence used for delivery of his comments is usually awkward. His handlers still have a way to go on the verbal side if they want to clean up his sound clips.

He's no orator and it may be that reaching for that unattainable objective in the past made his quality of speech sound even more affected. (But not quite as severe as that "southern" style Hillary adopted for her presentation to the southern people a few months back.)

In CD-14.

Jim Alger created a plan whereby he would tell Neighborhood Councils to buy equipment from Do-It-Center if a % of the profits went to No 2 Home Depot. If any money was left over, it would go to the Congress of Neighborhood Councils.

Proof is on this video about 11 minutes in.

This has implications for the Congress of Neighborhood Councils, No 2 Home Depot, Jim Alger, and Joe Barett. Something is really wrong with this picture and the City should launch an investigation.

Mayor Sam or Zuma Dogg, why don't you feature this video and the controversy on a new thread?

Wendy Greuel might be able to get away with it, but not NC. I can't make it through the video, but I'll just assume you got it wrong, cause that's the stupidist thing I've ever heard.

Scroll forward to 11 minutes. You don't have to watch the whole thing. I didn't get it wrong, Jim Alger says it clearly.

Zuma Dogg, watch the video if you really want to be a public advocate.

The reason Villaraigosa made those trips to various places around the world after he became mayor was because his advisors realized how provincial he is.

In his brain, the world is made up entirely of L.A. and Mexico.
