Mayor Sam's Hotsheet for Thursday

President Herb Wesson? Yup, its entirely possible that the 10th District Councilman may challenge Eric Garcetti for the Council Presidency. Zuma Dogg, what say you?

An internal Clinton campaign memo details the strategy to win Latino votes for the New York Senator's Presidential bid, key to which is the endorsement she won Wednesday from Mayor Villaraigosa.

Click read more to get a little buzz...

Just like the City Council inappropriately getting wrapped up in foreign policy issues, the Palms Neighborhood Council is considering a straw vote on the war in Iraq. However, cooler heads may be prevailing as members of the Council's Outreach and Communications Committee voted 3-0 against the idea of a vote, citing the role of the Council is to weigh in on local issues. I couldn't agree more. There's enough contention with regard to neighborhood matters; the Council doesn't need to get people riled up on an issue as hotly contested as this which the Council has zero jurisdiction over anyway.

The buzz is that "Law and Order" cast member and former US Senator Fred Thompson is running for President; one of his co-stars is playing Presidential politics of his own. Cast member Sam Waterston is amongst those behind Unity 08, an effort to recruit a moderate third party Presidential ticket consisting of one Democrat and one Republican.

An LA Weekly photographer goes hiking in Griffith Park with Councilman Tom LeBong to view the aftermath of the recent fire.

And finally, if you're a foster youth from LA County about to graduate high school what do you get? A new suit of clothes and a front row seat to a speech by Mayor V.

In time Hillary will figure out that Antonio is nothing but a gang banging, cholo, greasy, sleazy, womanizing Mexican who many educated Latinos in this city can't stand. Wonder if she knows how many trees and potholes he's filled as his accomplishments. Boy does he have her fooled. Hillary has already lost some Latino votes just by having Antonio as her nat'l campaign chair with his metrosexual partner Fabian. What a couple!! Wish a PI would get on that one.

Sam,

Interesting strategy memo from Clinton. It helps to see it in that form. It paints the picture that they feel Hillary's ONLY chance is the latino vote.

I was always looking at it like... she wants the latino vote to add to her middle-class white voters...but I see that her strategists feel she is all niche...WOW! She's like the Latino 96.3, or La Raza radio stations...a niche campaign...Hillary may be fancy New York senator and all that...but in the focus room, she's the bus...not the light rail. WOW!

In that case...she could go with Villaraigosa for VP, cause she isn't going for the Lou Dobbs crowd.

Weiss Ass is in big trouble.

Westside foes serve new recall notice on Weiss
Westside homeowners whose attempt last week to launch a recall campaign against Councilman Jack Weiss fell short served him notice again Wednesday.

Weiss has 14 days to issue a written response. In all likelihood, that means that the recall committee can begin in late June trying to gather the nearly 23,000 signatures needed to force an election. The committee includes Mike Eveloff, Tract 7260 Homeowners Assn. president.

I get it. AV for Vice President and Jack Weiss (AVs own Alberto Gonzales) for Attorney General!

Weiss can't recall his own constituents, so he is PERFECT for the job!

If the reason why Hillary wanted Antonio to endorse her for the Latino vote why would they have the press conf. in Westwood? AV will bring Hillary to LA again and have all the illegals who he supports pretend they are registered voters and surround her with support. I'm Democrat but now re-thinking maybe I should register to Republican. Look at the mess LA is in because of the liberal electeds we have in office.

Good morning ladies and gentlemen (removes hat and bows low with flourish):

It's good to be back in Los Angeles after that pirate confab in Miami. Many little tidbits were quietly pocketed for use in the future, savvy? But here's an interesting tidbit for use now.

'Pon my arrival home, I met up with the full crew (including the gimpy one who is doing much better now, thank you) and we sort of chatted about the flotsam and jetsam currently making the rounds of fine salons in and about town. And while we were chatting, the bard and the grinderman had an interesting conversation that went something like this:

Bard: "At last, the Grand Turk has returned. How's the Pearl?"

Grinderman: "Safe and sound in a Miami harbor. She'll be there of course until the Season is over and we bring her home."

Bard: "Very well. Say, do you know [insert name of certain blabby AV staffer here]? I saw him the week before last at Zankou Chicken in Hollywood, and he let loose a gem of a tidbit."

Grinderman: "Say on."

Bard: "He told a nice lady standing behind him in line that he was very much looking forward to working on the Clinton campaign on behalf of the Mayor."

Grinderman: "On behalf of the Mayor??"

Bard: "Yes sir, that's what he said. He also said that he was going to be working for the Clinton campaign as one of the Mayor's "insiders". When the nice lady he was speaking with asked if he was getting paid by the Clinton campaign, he laughed and said no, that he would be paid his regular City wages and that any work done for the Clinton campaign would be overtime since the City does not pay overtime for certain ranks of staff."

Grinderman: "Bloody hell, what will they think of next."

Bard: "Suits me fine", this chap says. He's just as tickled as a pig in shit that he's making money for overtime work, making his City wages and working on a prestigious campaign."

So there you have it. In addition to fooling around with the NC's, we now have tax-payer expensed moles. And for those of you in the know...Zankou Chicken is the place to go!

Captain c'mon you must know that Antonio, Jose and others have had their paid staffers working on THEIR campaigns while employed as city staffers. How do you think Martin Ludlow got his felony conviction?

Will someone please tell the short, bald headed, adulterer Ed Reyes to shut the hell up. He has no clue what he's talking about.

dailynews.com
"For me, there is a lot at stake here," Reyes said. "There is a sense of fragile trust, a fragile sense of confidence. And it will be there until we reach a certain level of accountability.

CAN WE ALL SAY KARMA. I'M PRAYING PROP R IS OVERTURNED NEXT WEEK. GOOD LUCK DAVID AND TED.

FRAGILE TRUST FOR WHO ASSHOLE, THE ILLEGALS? I CAN HARDLY WAIT TIL I SEE LITTLE EDDIE WIFE AT AN EVENT TO PUT HER IN THE LOOP OF HER LITTLE MAN'S SHANANIGANS WITH OTHER WOMEN.

Hey who wants to place bets when AV will have Corina act as a prop for his wife for the Hillary campaign? Rumor has it she caught him again cheating and that did it. AV pleaded not to file for divorce cause it would hurt the kids and his political career. No one has seen her with AV in 2 years in public.

Lots of great comments. Very informative. Thanks for the tip on BET Awards.

Lately, the events sponsor has been reimbursing the City for these commercial events.

Perhaps an typo, cause CM Parks is ZD's Colleague in the call for audits into "non-profit" fraud, waste and abusing.

CM P, what's up wit it, Dough?

Zuma don't let Bitter Bernie fool you. IF he really was serious about those audits why the hell hasn't any of them even begun? Connie Rice told those fools way back last Dec. that $82 million was being wasted on gang programs. Yet, since then they haven't done shit about it and even more absurb is they have given more money to some of those ineffective gang programs. I hope you tell their butts off tomorrow.

What surprises me is not the fact that City staffers work on campaigns, but rather, if you will, that this particular sot was rather far afield from his home port in City Hall. (Sighs) But then again, where is one to go for breasts in Hollywood, savvy?

Jim Alger created a plan whereby he would tell Neighborhood Councils to buy equipment from Do-It-Center if a % of the profits went to No 2 Home Depot. If any money was left over, it would go to the Congress of Neighborhood Councils.

Proof is on this video about 11 minutes in.

This has implications for the Congress of Neighborhood Councils, No 2 Home Depot, Jim Alger, and Joe Barett. Something is really wrong with this picture and the City should launch an investigation.

Mayor Sam or Mayor Sam, why don't you feature this video and the controversy on a new thread?
