Here's Your Friday Open Thread

Here's today's post to use as your platform. You pick the topic or topics.

Some serving suggestions include:

* The Court of Appeals affirming Judge Yaffee's finding that the City's cell phone tax is illegal because it was imposed without the voters' consent;

* The City Council's approval of a plan to improve the L.A. river, which, translated into English, means re-zoning to allow ultra-dense apartment complexes along its banks, paid for by you, Joe Taxpayer;

* The Mayor using the Griffith Park fire as a series of photo-ops, and urging people to clear their brush, which is odd since this fire started and spread on land the City itself owns and maintains;

* Changing the name of poor old Catalina to "Fire Island;" and

* Anything else your heart desires.

Have a wonderful Friday, and say something nice to someone, would you? "LOVE your hair!" is often helpful, for example. Here's another example: To those of you who read and post at this blog, even those of you who disagree with me, please take pride in the fact that you're aware enough and concerned enough about our city to PAY ATTENTION to what's going on. That counts for something.

Walter you forgot to post that Wendy Greusome has filed papers to run for controller. She gives blonde bimbos an even worst stereotype. She speaks like a groupie and fawns over Antonio whenever she's around him. The biggest kiss ass on the clowncil and her constiutents can't stand her because she's been in bed with developers. Never ever will people in LA vote her butt in after the truth comes out. Who else is running for Controller?

I was not aware of that fact.
Her support for Measure H was enough to make me vote for almost anyone else....

How about the LA Times failing to cover the LAPD Medal of Valor ceremony yesterday. What a joke.

Perhaps it's against their policy to associate "honor" with the LAPD? I mean, after all, the Mayor's already found the department "guilty."

So, Gruell is going to run for Controller and Chick is going to run for her Council Seat?

Is this the swap? Who else gets in that race against Gruell?

The citizenship drive began in January, when Univision's largest station -- Los Angeles's KMEX 34 -- began bombarding Southern California airwaves with a campaign designed to steer eligible viewers to become U.S. citizens.

The illegals refuse to learn English and use the excuse they don't know how to apply. Amazing spanish media waste time on this but not telling their spanish viewers to don't drink and drive, get car insurance, stop beating your wife, control your kids from committing violence since most of the county jails are filled with illegals and so on.

It could always be worse. At least Antonio doesn't bring the City Attorney down on bloggers when they start asking questions. That's what's happening to us in Pomona.

Did anyone notice that Thursday, the Principal of Locke High was stripped of his office and immediately forced off the campus. Is he an ax murderer? Is he a child molester? NO. He offended the Teacher's Union and they had their stooges on the school board take him out. (Just like that chickenshit Bratton threw his guys under the train the other day) What was his "Grave Mistake"? He was in favor (with the students, teachers and parents of Locke) of taking it to a charter school.

Zuma Dogg is doing a "most excellent" job in clowncil. He has calmed down dramatically and has been really giving great arguments on topics. I would be really nervous with the stuff he has stated in an open forum. good going dog!

Maybe the weekend will make a few of us a little more at ease. We are not even in the mist of hardball throwing and like the good 'MAYOR' says at the end of the blog........ 'Say something nice'.

Well, like much of you who stay occupied, I am already hosting tonights game and will have a relaxing night at home, then out to Station #47 in the morning for 'Open House'.

So now I pose a question and a concern...... when is our 'BLOG PARTY'?
Does the city really have to spend $50 million to replant trees at Griffith Park, or can we use these funds for other much more needed services?

Give me the good news......
