Thanks You NOEL WEISS for More Relocation Money Even Though JOSE HUIZAR Voted "NO" on More Money For His District

You've heard Zuma Dogg blog about it and talk about it on radio and City TV 35 endlessly for the past several months. AND NOW, BIG ZD IS PROUD TO SAY, "THANKS TO NOEL WEISS, NOT THAT LOSER PAID BY CITY HALL LARRY GROSS, FOR MORE RELOCATION MONEY FOR MISPLACED TENANT'S PREVIOUSLY KICKED OUT INTO THE STREETS IN VIOLATION OF CHARTER LAW REGARDING VACANCY RATES. (And more affordable housing to be addressed in upcoming weeks.)

ZD Story on "Noel Weiss' "9 & 17" Motion
ZD's Original "Vacancy Rates/Affordable Housing Story (based on Noel Weiss's legalese)
ZD's Original Story on Noel Weiss -- Fighting For Middle Class Homeowners

You can read the Daily News' story, or that lazy-ass joke of a story in LA Times regarding "affordable housing and tenant's relocation rights" that have been violated for the past twenty years, according to Council. NOW, since Noel Weiss identified the problem and educated ZD to the issues (and provided me the legalese), we were able to go "on the record" loudly enough, that it became a factor, and the LA Planning Commission, whispered in Herb Wesson's ear that it was time to start living by the City's own laws and update a few things. OTHERWISE KNOWN AS "NOEL WEISS' "9 & 17". That's right, Noel Weiss'...just ask anyone who is willing to give you an honest answer.

POINT IS: CONGRATULATIONS TO THE PUBLIC COMMENT PROCESS PROTECTED BY THE BROWN ACT. Because whether you are for, or against this plan -- none of this would be happening without the work of one man, who inspired others, like ZD, Chuck Tennin and BZ Hawk. And Noel is quite quick to point out Jane Ellison from the LA Planning Commission was the co-mover and shaker on this, in which without her leadership, this wouldn't have happened, either.

ZUMA DOGG would like to mention, the original "9 & 17" was bogged down with a means test amendment, which is a joke, but even with the means test, it's going to improve the quality of people's lives, when the City and big construction/land specualtors want to steamroll the community.

AND, regarding ZD's public comment request at Wednesday's meeting for a CM to stand up, be a leader and create a motion for a "CLEAN 9&17" -- stripping away Wesson's needless beuracratic compromises...A BIG "YOU GO GIRL" TO JANICE HAHN. (Taxi Driver Voice): Here is a CM who stood up. A CM who stood up; against shady, last minute, non-publicly vetted amendments on Noel Weiss' hard work. And although Wesson's version got the majority vote, instead of her's -- she stood up, y'all!!!

Something else ZD would like to add. I always wondered why Herb, who is Antonio's homie from way back in the day, would make Noel Weiss' and Zuma Dogg's dream come true, by reacting to public comment speakers and actually following up and doing it? Well, Zuma "Mr. Glass Half Empty" Dogg says, Wesson knows the mayor will veto this thing anyway. YOU THINK THE MAYOR IS GONNA LET A DECISION IN THIS CITY GO PRO-RESIDENT, AGAINST THE DEVELOPERS? There's no way Shadygrosa is gonna let the pueblos get more money from his construction/land speculator homies.

AND COUNCILMEMBER JOSE HUIZAR...I HOPE PEOPLE IN CD 14 KNOW THAT YOU VOTED "AGAINST" GETTING MORE MONEY FOR YOUR CONSTITUENT'S WHEN YOUR SHADY PROPERTY OWNER HOMIES KICK THE LITTLE OLD LADIES AND KIDS OUT INTO THE STREET FOR YOUR NEXT BIG MONEY MAKING CONSTRUCTION PROJECT. THAT'S RIGHT, JOSE HUIZAR, RECENTLY RE-ELECTED, PUT ON THE DARTH VADER HELMET AND VOTED "NO" TO MORE MONEY FOR HIS PEOPLE.

Bro, may I suggest a "Yes" vote, this Wednesday when it is back for a final vote. Your jiggy pal, Zuma Dogg, East-siiiiiiiied!

From www.DailyNews.com

In the end, the council voted to double the amount of money - up to $17,080 - that landlords have to pay to evicted tenants. They also introduced a means test that would make poorer families eligible for more money than others, the latest examples of City Hall's municipal socialism policies and one that will require even more bureaucracy.

[ZD said....Why punish the rich with this insane means test policy. If you call a plumber, or mechanic, or book a hotel, or airline reservation, or step on the bus, or buy a gallon of milk -- they don't adjust the price based on your yearly income, y'all. But the means test ain't gonna means sh*t anyway, cause these property owners aren't gonna wanna go through the income verification process -- if people wanna lie about their income, good luck proving it, so the property owners will just pay the full fee, anyway. AND, if not...it's still an improvement of current business conditions.]

This debate and policy change comes as a response to the explosion of condo conversions that has greatly reduced the city's rental stock, which must already be disproportionately high if it can accommodate about 2.5 million people. And Bill Rosendoh should step down from his Council seat now, if he has a shred of shame, pride or dignity. (Unfortunatley, I don't think he does.)

Rosendahl has been a hero throughout this whole process. With the two-tier system he rammed through, Wesson is trying to his $$$friends.

The Wesson proposal is going to making it even more difficult for poor people and people of color to find apartments: if these are the tenants who would be entitled to the highest relocation fees, owners will do their best NOT to rent to them. As Mercedes Marquez said, this will put another target on their backs.

Jose Huizar should be ashamed of himself because most of the people living in Boyle Heights are renters. With all the developers going into his district you can bet Jose is already wheeling and dealing with them to kick the poor out to make room for big developments. If you look at Jose's campaign donors for his re-election most were developers. SHAME ON YOU JOSE!!! YOU DON'T REPRESENT THE PEOPLE YOU REPRESENT BIG $$$$$ DEVELOPERS.

Interesting op-ed on this subject by Marc Haefele in today's L.A. Times. Also, Steve Hymon article the other day about Rosendahl.

Noel Weiss is a chauvistinistic, self-aggrandizing, self-serving political and social climber. His motives are not altruistic in any sense.
