Mayor Sam's Hotsheet for Thursday

Mayor Villaraigosa, reeling from having lost his bid to take over the LAUSD is not giving up. The Mayor is considering an appeal of the Court's ruling and continue on his plans to elect more of his lieutenants to the School Board. David Z writing at the LA Weekly says that if the Mayor felt defeated; he wasn't showing it.

Lots more after the leap!

In a case loosely related to the Tennie Pierce Dog Food settlement, a heterosexual male Jehovah's Witness firefighter has been awarded nearly a million dollars by a jury because of abuse he suffered for standing up for a Black lesbian fellow fighter. At the same time, the LA Weekly reports on the case of a local radio station manager who happens to be black, a lesbian and an immigrant from Africa who has been accused of discrimination and sexual harassment by a straight white woman.

Rick Caruso (we all know what he's legendary for) has won his battle to build a new version of The Grove in Arcadia. The Shops at Santa Anita is a major retail development to be seated next to the Santa Anita Park racetrack.

Politically connected constrution firm Tutor-Saliba is suing the city over $10 million in contested payments for the firm's work on the park and ride extension at Van Nuys Airport's Flyaway bus station.

The cafeteria at Los Angeles Valley College in Van Nuys has closed down again. No, not ptomaine or e coli, but e no money. The private operator said a profit could not be made given the high rent the campus was charging.

See the fun in ever corrupt Bell Gardens: When it was up for consideration by the Council, no one was told that the manager of a towing firm given an exclusive contract by the city was currently in the midst of a federal drug trafficking case for allegedly dealing opium.

The mayor has not done anything for the city. What makes him think he can do two jobs one for LA and one for LAUSD when his is too busy cheating on his wife with little jimmy blackman. Admit you are both gay.

David Zanister in LA Weekly said..."City Council President Eric Garcetti took the (LAUSD/AB 1381) ruling head-on. 'Nobody wins from defending the status quo. And in many ways, that’s what was defended today',” Garcetti declared.

No dummy! (And even though you are a Rhodes scholar, your public speak has deteriorated into "you big dummy talk!" Sorry, bro...maybe that is because you are defending something ""dumb" -- and you're only as smart as your dumbest argument, which this is.)

I learned in Philosophy class at Ohio State (the LAUSD of colleges at the time), you are using "faulty logic" in your fancy dummy-speak. Just because the court finds something un-constitutional, doesn't ALSO mean status quo was defended.

For example, "4 million people are moving to the region in the next ten years -- so we need to build high density where there is no sewage and narrow road and no space in the classrooms and not enough police/infrastructure to accomodate." (THAT'S FAULTY LOGIC, Y'ALL!)

Or, "All my campaign contributions must be listed on the City's Ethics' Website, so that means all my money is "clean". (Again, "A" DOES NOT AUTOMATICALLY MEAN 'B".)

LA Weekly's David Zanister said..."Uh, technically, it was the state Constitution that the judges were defending. But who needs that crusty old document? It’s not like elected officials in California take an oath to uphold it or anything. And who reads that fusty City Charter cited by the judges?"

So that's called "faulty logic", Eric. Because of "A" (ruling of unconstiutionality) means that "B" happened (status quo was defended in "MANY WAYS."

Academia Semillas Del Pueblo has filed a lawsuit against KABC radio and Doug McIntyre, reported at CBS Channel 2,
http://cbs2.com/topstories/local_story_108171527.html

It looks like now that they have approval to continue their agenda, they want to show they were wronged.

The problem is that the allegations in the complaint appear to be items of "truth", nothing false, and "opinions" which were drawn from the circumstances. The characterizatons in the language of the complaint don't change that.

All the attempts to demonize KABC and McIntrye may just backfire on the plaintiffs.

The LAUSD Board came through this charter school's renewal process without suffering much in the way of revelation of it's own ineptitude in the matter. This lawsuit may cause those circumstances to be revisited and I am sure the Board is not anxious for more public scrutiny applied here. (Monica Garcia being one with a pre-programmed political mission by her own words and actions.)

The school always should have been allowed to continue its existence - no argument here. EXCEPT you who want the school need to pay for it yourself and not expect ANY tax dollars of the public to cover such a private purpose- not a single dollar.

As usual, David Z. heads the nail on the head...

But did Wendy Greuel actually participate in a show whereby she gives the mayor a note from her 3-year-old son? Say it isn't so... that the farce at City Hall has not degenerated to this level...

What a bunch of low life kiss asses!!! Don't these people have any respect or dignity for themselves? NO

LAWEEKLY.COM....In the spectacle that followed Tuesday’s ruling, Villaraigosa and five members of the City Council couldn’t stop congratulating one another on their latest legal setback. Thank you, Mayor. No, Councilman, thank you. No, Mayor, thank you! Councilwoman Wendy Greuel — did you know she’s a mom? — sent Villaraigosa a thank-you from her 3-year-old son. Councilman Jack Weiss, a candidate for city attorney, heaped compliments on Villaraigosa’s lawyer, the one who crafted the ill-fated school bill.

Even City Council President Eric Garcetti, the son of a district attorney, took the ruling head-on. “Nobody wins from defending the status quo. And in many ways, that’s what was defended today,” Garcetti declared.

Uh, technically, it was the state Constitution that the judges were defending. But who needs that crusty old document? It’s not like elected officials in California take an oath to uphold it or anything. And who reads that fusty City Charter cited by the judges? The thing could bore a guy to death with all its blah-blah about who runs what in L.A. government.

I thought his personal touch of having gang bangers in the audience yesterday shows what little if NO class he has. Antonio is proving once again he's nothing more then a gang banger in a suit with no education, no ideas, no vision, no mission and a hell of a lot of arrogance. He's taken credit for everyone's work and now wants to get another Deputy Mayor to be gang czar. Pleassssseeeee

The morons he has on his staff are a bunch of wet behind the ears gay guys who kiss his butt and have no brains.

You've got to figure that all of those folks who were fawning over Antonio had been primed and given their suggested scripts, what the public "take" on this loss should be from those who worship at his feet....
