Mayor Sam's Blogbits for Wednesday

Tom LeBong's transformation of the Griffith Observatory from a legendary institution of learning into Epcot Center continues. Actual astronomers have been replaced by cable TV hosts from Central Casting.

More after the leap!

Found an interesting blog that covers the development of a 2300 home project in San Pedro, Ponte Vista.

There is a mysterious Whole Foods market coming to Downtown LA; a "mythical" Downtown Trader Joe's is on the radar of some folks - but it looks like its not coming. In the meantime this old, dead Republican mayor has plenty of experience with real life Trader Joe's.

It's always fun when you see the racism of some limousine liberals pop out. I don't if that's the case here but it sure stinks - a well known African American actor was denied admission to a trendy WeHo nightclub.

LAist explains that while the City maintains its not illegal to park at a failed parking meter that you haven't fed; you still might get a ticket anyway. Failed meters which are now mostly digital are known to eventually reboot themselves and in a nanosecond put you on the wrong side of the parking law.

The Transit Coalition's E-Newsletter over at MS2: Expo Line grade crossing showdown, parking at Dodger Stadium and the price of gas (among many other great topics).

Thank you for mentioning my blog on your blog. www.pontevista.blogspot.com deals with all issues concerning Bob Bisno's plans to build 2,300 condominiums on 61.53 acres of abandoned Navy Housing land in northwest San Pedro.

This may be one of the last areas in the City of Los Angeles where decent single-family housing can be built on large enouth lots, but profit comes before community these days.

Dear M,

You are very welcome. Thanks for having such an informative blog.

I am always amazed how everytime I highlight a new blog, I hear from the blogger right away. Good to know you are reading the Sister City.

Oh and when I say new I don't necessarily mean the blog itself is new, just new to me.
