TiVo ALERT: VILLARAIGOSA CAN'T EVEN GET HIS ANNUAL "STATE OF THE CITY" SPEECH ON LOCAL TV NEWS except for CBS! (ABC 7 pushes to 2:08AM "replay"!)

Wow! All it takes is a year's worth of ZD on City TV 35 and spending all your political capital on an Assembly Bill that just got kicked to the curb like the cheap ho that it was (AB 1381), and you can't barely get your annual "State of the City" speech covered LIVE by any of the local stations -- NOT EVEN ON DISNEY OWNED ABC 7, during the 5pm news hour!!! (Pushed to
2:08am! LOL!)

THEN, when the 6 O'clock news came on...they treated the now certain to be one term mayor and zero term governor with less respect than Rodney Dangerfield, but not only NOT opening with it, but burying half way through. ABC 7 WILL, however, be playing the mayor's "State of the City" speech, in it's entirerty...

AT 2:08AM, Y'ALL...LOL! Even ZD gets better time slots than that. (Mayor, you can get Kevin James fired from KABC, but you can't get your own annual speech on before 2:08AM?!?!? (LOL!)

Oh no...you're NEVER gonna get elected Governor, like Zuma Dogg and the rest of the City hopes you do. (As a matter of public safety.)

[PROGRAMMING NOTES: Watch Wendy check out Laura in the last split second. Watch the Mayor breeze past Cardenas ( I think the mayor actually pushes him away.) Watch Jack Weiss stand there all "available" looking, hoping the mayor stops for a campaign photo op...REJECTED! Look at Garcetti looking waaaaay too happy. The whole dynamic...But maybe y'all weren't as blazed up as Matt and I were when we watched it.]

AND NOW...BRACE YOURSELF FOR THE POLITICAL SMOOTCH FROM HELL AS ANTONIO GIVES HIS "CHICK" A KISS

[RED SPOT...I KNOW YOU JUST FELL OUT OF YOUR CHAIR! And thanks to Matt "Dangerous Incense Dealer" Dowd, who produced this entire clip. (Check out his "Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame" quality guitar videos at www.youtube.com/deepsouth81.]
--------------------------------------------------------------
BONUS THREAD: LAPD CALLED TO BILL ROSENDAHL'S VENICE NEIGHBORHOOD COUNCIL MEETING AS MATT DOWD AND MICHAEL HUNT TAKE OVER, SEE! WHEN ARE Y'ALL GONNA LEARN. JUST DO WHAT WE TELL YOU AND EVERYTHING WILL BE FINE...WE KNOW THE RULES BETTER THAN YOU, AND WE CAN KEEP YOU OUT OF LEGAL HOT WATER (Which one to three of you need, right now. AND, if you listen to US...you won't spend all your political capital on unconstitutional things that don't stand a chance in court.) NOW BILL -- GO DO SOMETHING IN YOUR DISTRICT BESIDES "WISH".

[THANKS TO VENICE BEACH'S #1 TOURIST ATTRACTION -- THE LEGENDARY TONY VERA FOR SHOOTING, EDITING AND POSTING THIS INSIGHTFUL PEEK INTO VENICE NC. YOU CAN SEE TONY VERA ALL SUMMER LONG -- ATTRACTING THE BIGGEST CROWD ON THE OCEANWALK (near Winward entrance) WITH HIS FIRE SHOW!]

Checking news about the Mayor's speech, it seems that he has come to finally focus on the GANG problem.

City News Service, on KABC's website, had an interesting bit in the story: "City Councilman Tony Cardenas, chairman of the council's ad-hoc gang committee, said the attack on gangs is 'what we need.' " Exactly HOW long have these guys been in office?

A better comment would have been, "It's about time," except that the City councilpersons each could have acted responsibly and pressed this issue long ago but they all flopped.

I suppose we shall soon see where and to whom the money flows in this belated design.

More evidence that the Democratic Party is morally bankrupt. As much as a disaster that GWB has been, anyone with half a brain and shred of deceny CANNOT support the discredited, racist buffoon that is Al Sharpton:

Democrats Scamble to Court Al Sharpton
By BETH FOUHY, Associated Press Writer

Democratic presidential contenders are scrambling for support in what's being dubbed the Al Sharpton primary... This election, the high-profile Sharpton, fresh from the fight over Don Imus' derogatory remarks, is attracting all the party's major candidates this week for his annual National Action Network convention.

The solid attendance — starting with John Edwards on Wednesday and continuing with Sens. Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama later this week — reflects Sharpton's prominence in the party...

Sharpton ... has never apologized for his role in the Tawana Brawley case.

I actually felt sorry for Antonio last night cause that was the worst speech by a Mayor of the nation's 2nd largest city. He's going to give more money to the corrupt gang programs. They keep using the word "evaulate" not AUDIT. Then he mentions Homeboy which is the most corrupt gang program in the city that gets millions for gang bangers. Having the gang bangers in the audience was embarrassing. Any police officer will tell you they're still active. Antonio needs to let Bratton do his job and stay the hell out of policing. No other Mayor has been such a chismoso.

...In his speech the mayor promised to devote $168 million, including $15 million in new funds, in the coming year to anti-gang enforcement and to counseling, job placement programs, parenting classes and even tattoo-removal services. The funding requires City Council approval.
...Villaraigosa said he would appoint a director for gang reduction and youth development in his office to coordinate gang-reduction programs in 19 city departments...the new director will oversee an EVALUTATION of the city's existing 23 prevention and intervention programs, including the troubled L.A. Bridges program, and decide which ones to continue after September

WHAT THE HELL DID THE CITY PAY $600,000 FOR CONNIE RICE TO DO??? SHE'S ALREADY EVALUATED THE DAMN PROGRAMS AND SAID THEY WASTE $82 MILLION. INSTEAD OF FIXING THE PROBLEM ANTONIO IS THROWING MORE MONEY TO THEM. IDIOT IDIOT IDIOT

He's lucky this didh't make prime time or network!!! It was humiliating and shameful...not to mention the most stupid, idiotic, gibberish uttered by an equally idiotic mayor.

BUT, ABOVE AND BEYOND THE EMBARRASSING EVENT ITSELF....DID ANYONE NOTICE HOW W E I R D THE DELIVERY OF THE "speech" WAS?????

This guy is getting weirder every day! His speech patterns are getting stranger and stranger. He's got the Mexican accent mixed in with a sort of sing-song cadence. It's so bizarre. And I can't watch himm for more than 3 seconds without getting dizzy! He keeps rotating that head around like a robot or autonomon.

IT'S JUST PLAIN WEIRD! WHAT A CREEP!!!

Good observation! His mannerisms and speech patterns are indeed strange!

He is unctuous and oily! Not to mention the fact that he is so damned shifty-eyed and arrogant!!!

I can't watch him...he really makes me sick!!!

did anyone pick up on the fact that it was a Richard Riordan City charter provision that the courts referred to in dismissing the mayor's appeal?

the mayor sidestepped a vote of the citizens to press ahead with this 'plan'.

so here's my thought...
to become a citizen of this country you take the following oath of allegiance:

I will support and defend the Constitution and laws of the United States of America against all enemies , foreign and domestic, and I will bear true faith and allegiance to same....

my question: isn't the Mayor's loss on AB1381 tantamount to some kind of treason?
against the state, and against the City of Los Angeles charter.

Question 2 : if the new LAUSD board drops the lawsuit and allows the bill to be enacted, after all, does that also make them guilty, in the face of the judicial opinions already handed down?

Does another entity step in at that point and sue them all?
I hope so.

Good morning ladies and gentlemen (tips hat and grins):

I'm not really sure what all you sots are up-in-arms about for YOU people ELECTED the fool! At the most, you should be as happy as pigs in poop.

Oh bugger. You're not happy? I seem to recall someone saying to me approximately two years ago when the fool was first elected..."You think there's problems in the Hahn administration? Mark my words. You ain't seen nothin' yet!" Mind you this person was an insider at DWP who then went on to bigger and better with someone else's husband or so they said.

8:54AM - Antonio spends all his time trying to impress the white people. He was elected with a majority vote of Latinos but till this date he ignores the Latino communities and issues. He caters to the whites because he needs their money to run for governor.

Ahoy thar, Cap'n Sparrow... aye, the Redwood! I had thought to make me presence known to thee at that establishment, but me carriage was nearing me destination afore the thought crossed me mind.

Mayhap thou mayest be present on the morrow's eve, 'twixt 3 bells first dog watch and 1 bell last dog watch? If thou art not, and choose to send one of thy crew in thy place, one in whom I trust shall be sent in mine stead. 'Twould be prudent for the both of us to meet, mayhap we mayest exchange our learned histories; I've need of some'at from Merrie Old England.

'Til the morrow mayhap?

What could POSSIBLY tickle me fancy more than back to back "messages in a bottle" from me dos favritos, savvy mates?

What a triumphiant period betwix sun's rise and moon's rise it shall be, indidee, hence each respected and admired sailors of the shady seas would take the quill and parchment an inscribe and insightful and inciteful prose that would educate and enlighten a newbie lad, whose eyes have been closed until a mere calander year since past?

A charter tale, if you will...A fairy tale of history of this politcal wastelands. (A hazardous tale it must be, at that, savvies?)

And to concerned sailors across the 15 shady seas, of the lad's recent attempt to anchor at bay for a semester's worth of restorative construction, on his vehicle...

I have learned, that dinner and the usual range of tip at the hand of a Hollywood video clip licensor, was all it took to set sail and once again let the active(ist) winds blow as they will...

Not much wind, so I ride the tide till my vessle once again, smashes against the rocks like that boat on TV yesterday.

Back to my investigatory duties, that as well, also have been contributing to my lower visibility in any future delays.

Plenty more "comments in a bottle" being floated on these seas, later before not too much more planetary revolution.

And hello to the pirate who I have been in corrospondance on myspace with in previous lunar rotations, and who I enjoyed the company of in those districts waters, last time my sail was set that way.

Say "Ahoy, Matey" to all mi otra amigos en este aguas.

How embarrassing! People today are saying they were cringing at his speech being in the audience. He had nothing of substance to say. How funny he brings up better trash compactors to save $1million yet council wastes millions year round. Then the 405 car pool lane triump is beyond hilarious. No matter how expensive the suits he wears, or using Greshian formula to dye the gray, or whiten his teeth bottom line is Antonio is a barrio scum bag and fooled the Latinos into voting for him saying he would help them. The only thing he's done is supported the illegals and gang bangers. He looks like a dried up raisin. Newsome will kick his butt if ever he wants to run for Gov.
