ALARCÓN KICKS OFF MAYORAL POSTURING EFFORT WITH "GRAND VISION" FOR THE NORTHEAST SAN FERNANDO

ALARCÓN TO CREATE A "GRAND VISION" FOR THE NORTHEAST SAN FERNANDO VALLEY

Los Angeles, CA - At today*s City Council meeting, Councilmember Alarcón introduced a motion that begins the process of having the Community Redevelopment Agency of Los Angeles (CRA/LA) createa Master Plan for the continued redevelopment of the Northeast San Fernando Valley.
*The time has come for the Northeast San Fernando Valley to have a coherent and community driven vision for its future,* said Councilmember Alarcon. *Pacoima, Sun Valley, Sylmar and Panorama City are some of the most under-planned areas in the city. Now is the time to create integrated, vibrant and pedestrian-friendly commercial districts along Van Nuys Blvd and San Fernando Road. We need all stakeholders to participate in the creation of the Master Plan for the project area, so we can make our land use decisions based on a holistic vision, not on a project-by-project basis.*
The creation of the Master Plan will be funded by CRA/LA resources earmarked specifically for the Northeast San Fernando Valley*s CRA/LA project area, which includes both Council District 6 and Council District 7. The project area was created in the aftermath of the Northridge earthquake, when then Councilmember Alarcón worked with the CRA/LA to create this project assistance area. The project area consists of approximately 2,914 acres, generally bounded by the San Diego Freeway on the West, Foothill Freeway on the North and East, and Victory Blvd on the South. In the next fiscal year, this project area has a projected budget of $64 million.
Councilmember Alarcon will work closely with Councilmember Cardenas, the community, business interest, Neighborhood Councils, educators, non-profit organizations, lenders, residents and the government to create the vision.
The end result will be a Master Plan for the project area, including specific goals for implementation. Additionally, the
visioning process will identity and address major challenges that must be overcome for the Northeast San Fernando Valley to emerge as a vibrant and prosperous business, manufacturing and commercial center.

First of all, I didn't say I WASN'T posting here anymore...just chilling out. I'm not gonna NOT post if I feel like it. And this was easy cause it was an LA TImes-like "copy and paste" of Alarcon's press release. And I wanted to hear the Mayor Sam's crowd take on the matter. And I know this is the best place to hear the best arguments on both sides.

I have not been an Alarcon fan but I have lived in that area and support this effort.
He looks like a cross between Wayne Newton and Vicente Fox. Would you buy a used car from him?

if alarcon wasn't such an opportunist it might seem like the community is gong to really get something good at the end of the day. the problem with richard is that he is a shop worn politition except this time around he is making no BONES about it that he is not leaving any money on the table. since alarcon is back in business with his old partner jimmy james acevedo they will find a way to harness that 64 million for themselves. richard isnt going to let his new girlfriend think he is a pendeho by not getting his fair share, cuz the babyz going to need new shoe. you can see it now, richard and tony getting jimmy james his lemonade on that island they will buy with the money they take from the community chest. better watch richard around the cash box, remember the swimming pool gift, oh loan
richard is a f*ck*n crook that will find some way to get his hands on that money with his buddy james. if there isn't something in it for alarCON, he's not interested

CRA in Pacoima is bad news. Mexicans there do not want NOHO or downtown type gentrification SOOO Richard will pursue more liberal friendly projects like joint ownership subsidized housing, bogus live work spaces, etc. none of which will be able to generate cash to support themselves. within 5-10 years it will be another cabrini green.
ALARCONNED is not going to do squat for the Northeast Valley. All THIS RAT FACE is doing is just creating attention for himself because he is getting ready to run for Mayor. As soon as Villaraigosa has a chance to run for Arnolds seat. Not like the voters really care anyways. Since most of them are not educated on the issues.
JUST ASK THE FOLLOWING CLOWNS WHO LIVE OFF THE TAXPAYERS: JAMES ACEVEDO, RICHARD ALARCON, TONY CARDENAS, ALEX PADILLA, CINDY MONTANEZ, YOLANDA FUENTES, FELIPE FUENTES, MAPA AND THE REST OF THE COW HERD WHO FOLLOWS THEM. BY THE WAY SOME OF THEM ARE FAT LIKE COWS.
How can anything that involves Pacoima and/or Panorama City be "grand"? Did he mean grande crappy?

This so called GRAND VISION is just another plan to enrich all the cronies who sleep in bed with alarcon and his (adjective) girlfriends. Just ask Yolanda Fuentes.
