How Much Is THIS OUTSIDE COUNSEL Gonna Cost The City?

I guess the closed session budget talk discussion on RUBY DE VERA vs The City of Los Angeles and ED REYES was NOT over a settlement, but over THE HIRING OF OUTSIDE COUNSEL. Just spoke with Ruby's attorney, and this isn't about money, and have not had settlement discussion, at all. (More on the price a jury would pay for the first amendment later.)

The question is: How much do you think it will cost the City to have THIS guy defend ED REYES in FEDERAL COURT over the De Vera matter? (Pretty sure the City gets a discounted rate, but how much do you think it will cost? Meanwhile, the City WANTED the case moved from Superior Court, to Federal Court because you need a unanimous decision in Federal Court, which is harder to get.

ZD, you talk like YOU are paying for this.

Don't worry, only those of us with jobs have to pay the taxes.

Probably about $550 to $750 an hour and it will take about 150 hours to get prepped, documented and ready for trial. Add an extra $1500 for mediation. And the irony of it is this: the City can pay for Reyes's defense, but Reyes can't pay enough attention to his own district to do the little things that count....like get a street paved or graffiti removed.

Elliott, when you get a job and pay some taxes then maybe we'll listen to your rants about wasting taxpayers' money.

All you do now is run around discovering sources of information that we all know about, copying stuff and looking for handouts for being a hero and posting it.

Quit whining and work like a man.

Stuff everyone knows about??? I don't think so. If they do, they aren't telling anyone. And again, when you start with this "ho hum" talk, it means ZD is way to close to the fire. Thanks for the "tell" -- gonna blow off council and hit the federal building instead, loser. better find a new job yourself...your boss is going down. not cause i want them too, because they can't help themselves.

Nah, if he was gay, he'd be a little more meticulous about his spelling, grammar, and punctuation.

The slovenly overall approach is atypical of gay behavior.
