UTLA to revisit endorsement in District 7 Runoff

UTLA reps will be meeting tonight at the "KREMLIN OF EDUCATION", aka, UTLA headquarters. On the agenda is whether to endorse a candidate for the runoff between Neil Kleiner and David Vladovic in District 7. As reported here, Neil Kleiner has received the endorsement of CTA activist Jesus Escandon for the runoff election in May.

This 6:00 PM meeting on Wilshire will highlight the internal struggles between the "UTLA POTIBURO" led by A.J. "PUFF" Duffy. And the "RANK AND FILE" teachers, who are upset at their leadership for supporting "HIS POLLONESS" and AB 1381.

In the April election, Kleiner and Escandon received a combined 55% percent of the votes cast. This was despite the six-figure campaign war chest, and the support of you know who, "MAYOR POLLORAIGOSA". Word on the street is that electorict is against the mayor's takeover attempt. But sadly, are unaware that a runoff election is coming up in May.

As stated, I wholeheartedly support Neil Kleiner for the District 7 seat to the School Board. For more information visit the kleinerforschoolboard.org .

Good afternoon Mr. Dogg (removes hat and bows low):

You should also support Mr. Spot as word has reached us via one of the Five that he was recently given a political appointment to that of Vice Chair of a certain Assembly District Central Committee. Not bad for a spot of red in a blue sea, is it? As for your question yesterday about Turner Construction, they are a New York domiciled corporation that has its HQ in Dallas, Texas. They also have satellite offices in Kuwait, Oman and Saudi Arabia, savvy? One of their vice presidents, a Mr. Thomas Gerlach gave a political donation to a Seattle politician (a Mr. Richard McIver) during his 2005 campaign, and the company was instrumental in the Hollywood Redevlopement project that, among other things, if you will, included the El Capitan Theatre. But let's speak of something else, shall we?

We pirates have endorsed Mr. Kleiner, given him some cash and have done some campaigning for him on his behalf. He has the full support of the pirate crew. The other bloke is nothing more than a satin breech and snuff dandy who EXPECTS things instead of working for them.

As for Mr. Kleiner, he's a teacher's teacher and a pirate ally. We stand behind Mr. Kleiner and if the rest of you sots were wise, you would too, savvy?

huff huff says the magic castle...

utla will likely endorse vladovic.

red spot only loses credibility when he starts to pontificate about KLEINERISTAS performance in the school board race.

but red spot has yet to be correct about any election predictions, unfortunately neither has ZD or Moore.

but why should they??? if they actually visit each of the campaigns to see which one has REAL community support and not just listent to UFO calls and e-mails perhaps then and only then they will have their EARS to the ground and get ACCURATE information.

God with all you election experts rooting for Kliener, he can't lose by more than 70 points.
You ought to check out Vladovic's credentials before you expose your ignorance of all things political that are just beyond your limited base of knowledge.

With a six-figure war chest. the endorsement of the mayor. The backing of the powers to be. This added up to 45% of the vote. Mr. Vladovic was a great administrator in his time. Yet he should of thought of the backlash that having the endorsement of the mayor, would of had on his campaign. OUCH!!

7:16 pm - I did NOT say I was an election expert; that's your spin! You need to reread Dogg's, Sparrow's, Spot's, and my posts - we either endorsed or recommended Kleiner to be the best qualified candidate, we did NOT say he was going to win!

With single digit turnout for the School Board elections, it is no wonder the schools are doing so badly. The apathy of the citizenry is often a reflection of the apathy of the many parents who do not participate in their children's development. As a result, the only structure many students receive is from the staff and teachers at their schools.

One candidate, Neal Kleiner, is well respected among teachers and students alike for his direct involvement in making John Muir a better school. His current successor is a simple bureaucrat who is afraid of the students and teachers.

Which brings us to the election. There seem to be two kinds of people running for school board these days: political bureaucrats or experienced, involved teachers / administrators. The candidates supported by the Mayor must answer to their benefactor. Candidates like Kleiner only have to answer to the well being of the students.
