Inconvenient Truth 2: Illegal Aliens In L.A. Gangs
A recent "spot check" of gang members serving time in local jails -- not much time, given the County's "don't do the crime unless you can do 10% of the time" policy -- revealed that many were illegal aliens. LAPD won't go after illeglas and modify Special Issue 40 because Antonio and the clowncil who support them won't allow it. Then you have the ACLU who are suing all the cities who have already had ICE go after employers and landlords. This is the damn law and idiots like ACLU make excuses. LA would be so clean, save millions, crime would come wayyyyy down if they went after the illegals.

It's a no brainer to me, illegal means criminal. Special Order 40 never meant to be used the way it has been interpreted. Although I never believed in it and felt those who were in the US illegally including those who's green cards expired should be deported. It was only to be used for those reporting crimes, not those involved in criminal activity. The police stopped inquiring about legal status because it cut down on their workload and it was politically incorrect. And that came from the top down. The police were tired of not being supported by politicals and used as pawns. They also were dished by the media. It's not about brown versus white, or english versus spanish. It's about right versus wrong. Everyday we teach our children right from wrong. If they follow the rules they will be rewarded. And then they see others being rewarded for wrong behavior. And now since our services are impacted to the point of closing, it's ok to discuss it. To enforce the rules. Being politically correct doesn't mean it's right...
Well, won't this problem go away if we just ignore it, spout platitudes about "diversity," and issue proclamations against pot-bellied Minutemen in lawn chairs?
And if innocent teenage girls get gunned down by hate-filled illegal alien gang members, a press conference or two with tough talk will do the trick, won't it?

Lets do a thread on all those illegal immigrants that successfully run businesses and create jobs and wealth for OUR community, or how about all those illegal immigrants serving in OUR military forces - especially those that are granted citizenship posthumously, or maybe a story about those Ivy League illegal immigrants - yes, even at Princeton. Or maybe a story about our most famous illegal immigrant, Arnold - his intial visa wasn't up to par. Your inflamatory comments do nothing but drive a wedge deeper into OUR community. What are you afraid of?
It seems to me that Princeton has cornered the market on modern day "Chicken LIttles" - John Foster Dulles who created the CIA, Ralph Nader who handed "W" the presidency, and let us not forget Donald Rumsfeld. Your hate filled diatribe may play well in Preoria but this is Los Angeles - get a clue. Come to think of it, Preoria wouldn't welcome your doomsday talk either- take a look at their ehtnic numbers. We're not hate mongers or racist. You see that's what ignorant people like you do when you know truth has been said. No one is denying immigrants legal or illegal can prosper and help the economy. The problem is when we over look, or slide under the carpet, right from wrong. Let me be perfectly clear, illegal immigrants come from all over the world. That being said our economy and data scrutinized to forecast future taxes and government programs, such as social security, medicare, health programs for all citizens to name a few, is false because of it. Turning our heads away from that is just plain stupid. Look at our housing costs, police forces, fire, trash hauling and amount we dump into are land fills, parks and recreation areas and other health/safety/public departments who assist us in our quality of life. Supposedly a better quality of life and that's why we live where we do and pay the taxes to our local/state and federal government. Schools and prisons are all over crowded and culture clashing it isn't safe to be in either institution. Forget gangs and territory issues, or jobs citizens cannot get due to the fact they are unable to speak a specific language. We could go on and on. But come on, it's time to truly look and analyze this issue at all levels and it's impact for better or worse. We were all immigrants at one time, but legal is legal, Illegal is illegal. Quit trying to change the meaning of words.
Please Walter, some time before you die, tell us something we don't already know.

It's just like Antonio. Let's just throw up all these issues and not solve one. No one will know cuz they're so screwed up by so many. We never hold anyone to do their job. To solve a problem. If we did maybe everything wouldn't be such a mess and all the problems wouldn't be so awesome to solve.
Drug dealers buy expensive cars and nice houses. Are they "good for the economy?" Con men and robbers buy merchandise, and thereby put people to work; rapists and people who commit violent crimes generate work for doctors, nurses and morticians? Are they "good for the economy?"
Enforcing the laws is not hate, it is the sine qua non of a civiilzed society.
3 police officers were killed last year by illegal immigrants. There's a small city that is being sued by ACLU because they passed ordinances to go after landlords and employers who hire illegals and rent to them. Rocky is doing the right thing going after gang bangers in apt. complexs and having them evicted. That's where to get them. Now Antonio needs to get rid of his ACLU loyalty and stop coddling the illegals who are ruining our city. This isn't racist or mean its the LAW. Many Latinos in this city are sick and tired of them as well so don't go say its racist.
This thread is specifically about the small percentage of illegal aliens who have committed additional (often violent) crimes in the U.S., but Mr. Anonymous 10:47 insists on lumping them in with larger illegal immigrant community. Very revealing.
Does anyone at City Hall give a damn about Angelenos of African descent in South L.A. being murdered in the streets by foreign nationals operating under special police protection? Parks? Anyone???

It's good for the economy for that car dealer or real estate broker. I'm sure somewhere down the line you profitted from some economic transaction that was rooted in illegality - you probably own stock in Haliburton or probably owned stock in Enron.

Wedge issue politics has proven to be very successful - what you and Walter fear are having that smaller piece being wedged - and that is what will happen unless you become Mormon and have 12 white kids.

Let's see which politicians are stupid enough to march with the illegals in April. People need to wake up. There are hundreds of illegals in this city who are driving without a license or insurance. A lot of the drunk drivers stopped in this city are illegal. LA is beginning to look like a 3rd world country because of them. Our electeds support the illegals more then the blacks in South LA or the Latinos who are against illegals. Maybe the reason there is racial fighting at the high schools is because blacks are tired of the illegals breaking the law and getting away with it. Stop making excuses for them.
Well I guess we'll know where Jack Weiss and Bob Hertzberg stand if they walk with illegals in April. They are both running for City Attorney. If they read this blog they will find out we are watching...
The racial fights at schools are not just blacks against latinos. The Armenians are warring with the latinos, too. What is really surprising is that most of the wars at the schools are being fought by the girls.
How did we elect a racist Mayor in the City of Los Angeles? And who will start the recall?
What I'm worried about is how the offspring of the illegals will turn out. It's understandable that someone coming here from Guatemala or Mexico would be willing to do crappy work for low pay. But what happens when that person has kids here, and those kids grow up living amidst people with more money and better jobs than their parents have? Judging from how our current 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc., Hispanic population generally is, I'm not optimistic. They've got the highest high school dropout rates, lowest college graduation rates and highest illegitimacy rates.
Walter Moore should get a job.
