Rocky Target of Whistleblower Suit
The LA Times is reporting that a veteran city prosecutor has filed a whistle-blower lawsuit alleging that Los Angeles City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo retaliated against her for complaining about the work of outside law firms hired by the city and whose partners and associates are major political supporters of Delgadillo.Our readers have on multiple occasions brought up the issue of outside counsel. Like any city vendor selection process its potential for fraud and abuse is vast. Too many feel that the use of outside counsel is excessive and wasteful.
However many feel that on a number of issues Los Angeles own legal counsel - the City Attorney - is not competent enough on many issues and find the need to bring outside lawyers in to handle various cases.
What a mess.

If anyone was listening to "JOHN AND KEN" today. then one would of heard the wierdest laugh ever uttered by a L.A. politician. Also it was announce today that two fire captains have file Discrimination Lawsuits over their discipline in the Tennie Pierce affair.
Rocky also said, in contradiction to mayor reconquista, that immigration (read, illegal) is fueling the gang problem in the valley.

I'd take any allegations by a City Attorney employee with a grain of salt. There are a minority of employees in the CA's office that are totally worthless, and view the job as a cushy 4 hour a day cake walk. Oh yeah, these same employees earn in excess of $100K a year. Some of them are long term employees...as many as 20+ years on the job.
In every single instance I am aware of where the CA has attempted to terminate the employment of these individuals, the individual sues the city. Even after the CA's office has issued repeated warnings, reprimands, and suspensions, and has documented many instances of neglect and incompetence.
I don't know Kerrin Tso, and make no judgement on her particular situation. However, unless there is some evidence presented in the media to help prove her credibility, I'm unlikely to take a point of view either for or against the allegations made in this matter.
Kerrin Tso, longtime attorney and daughter of the late Judge Jack Tso, has for a long time been one of the most gifted civil litigators and trial lawyers in the Office of the City Attorney or anywhere else in the profession. I don't think anyone who has ever worked with her or opposed her in court would disagree. I don't know how her lawsuit will play out, but the City of Los Angeles and DWP lost one of its true courtroom champions when the OCA decided to move Tso into a non-litigation position. Attacks on her competence, or suggestions that she is bringing her lawsuit at the behest of other politicians or for any reason other than she believes her rights have been violated are, in my view, libelous.

What's the problem with being anonymous if I'm not the one who's attacking someone's professional reputation without a factual basis?Not sure you need my name or anyone else's to decide what's libelous or not. If I were giving you my legal opinion, I'd charge you hourly.
If you want to libel someone, knock yourself out, you don't have to accept my concept of what's libelous.

Perhaps you need lessons in reading comprehension.
I'll note that you provided no facts proving her competence, reliability, truthfulness, etc.
The only facts you offered were that her father was a judge, she has been a civil and trial lawyer, and that she was moved by the CA's office to a non litigator position.
Now are we really supposed to take your opinion at face value when that is the scant factual information you use to support your opinion?
Again I'll reiterate that I will abstain from taking an opinion on this matter until I have something before me that offers evidence of one side being more credible than the other.

Well, I will give you an example of what rank speculation is.
When someone writes that there are a minority of City Atty employees who are totally worthless, who've been employed over 20+ years, who earn more than $100G yr., who view their jobs as 4 hr/day cakewalk, I suppose the suggestion is that "Kerrin Tso may be one of these, so I will take her story with a grain of salt."
But this is crap. If you don't know one way or another whether Kerrin Tso is one of these alleged "worthless employees", why not just say you don't know enough to have an opinion.
By the way, other than one employee in the past 8 years, I don't know of any City Attorney employee who has sued over an involuntary termination (she won her trial), but maybe anonymous @ 6:40 can give us examples, if not names.
