Gavin: Wine, Women and Song

Gavin just can't keep out of the news.

NBC11 is reporting that Gavin's latest squeeze - actress Jennifer Siebel - knew about the Mayor's recently admitted affair with his former campaign manager's wife. Siebel promoting her new film, the aptly titled The Trouble with Romance told the station that "I did know" about the affair and with regards to her relationship with Mayor McHottie, "We're fine."

Gavin has also taken the next step most politicians who wind up in a sex or other scandal take - playing the addiction card. Yes his name is Gavin and he is an alcoholic. Gavin announced that he is seeking outpatient alcohol rehab, effective immediately.

Talk about going from bad to worse! His "excuse" for stabbing his friend in the back is . . . he has a liquor problem?

I guess it'll be easier than expected for Villary-Rodham-Clinton to become governor if he wants.

I predict new candidate will appear for gov. Based on Gavin and Villar's infidelities it would only be appropriate.

change Gov term limits and have Arnold run again. Shit, they did it in council, why not Gov.

Speaking of Arnold you gotta love the person who leaked his conversation to the media. In the tapes Arnold calls Metro Sexual Fabian a two faced liar and Don Perrata and very sick man.

Sorry folks this won't hurt Gavin at all. Time heals all and in the end he's still too handsome and women will still fawn over and vote for him. Watch Antonio come out and say he has an addiction. Rumor has it he still smokes weed

It doesn't hurt Gavin in SFO but will in other parts of the state, particularly with AV pulling the Hispanic vote. The Hispanic Democratic voters are traditional folks and would be put off by someone like Gavin. Though Antonio "has had trouble in his marriage" he would still be viewed as much more a family man than playboy Gavin.

However the one person all of this helps is neither Gavin or Antonio but the man who is quietly preparing to succeed Arnold and once again reclaim the governorship.

Brown has proven he can best much younger men in a statewide primary and despite his kooky past would be viewed as far more stable, thoughtful and mature by Democratic voters than Antonio, Gavin, et al.

Attorney General Jerry Brown. And there is no Republican in California short of Arnold (and he will be termed out) who can beat Jerry.

Governor Moonbeam, Act III.

In the meantime, Republicans need to quickly develop a dynamic, articulate, charming, moderate candidate for 2010 and sadly, its not Tom McClintock.

MS,

I agree. Gavin will get hurt elswhere in California, especially Hispanic Vote.

In the meantime, negative publicity opens doors to Villaraigosa's vulnerable past. Remember Gavin got caught and Antonio didn't. Doesn't necessarily mean "has had trouble in his marriage" PR story is true.

If Gavin campaign can perform adequate oppo research, competition can be taken care of and swiftly.

Nice to know that their is some "HETROSEXUAL" activity going on in San Fran. I concure with Mayor Sam that "MOONBEAM" may be lurking in the shadows. Just wonder whether that lady that ran CalTrans is still alive "ADRIANA GEINTURKO".

Archie,
Good of you to point out "BUBBA AUTRY" in "FRESNECK". Since the time that the "DUKE BEAT THE SPOOK". The Central Valley population has exploded. The population is moderate to conservative in voting preferance.
Further, Autry was burned by "FLABIAN" on his attempt to gain control over the "FRESNECK" schools. The republicans better start looking for a candidate to groom. Either DICKOCRAT will cater to the open borders crowd and next thing you know, PEPE will be driving with legal license.

Archie since you worked with Alan on "In the Heat of the Night" I think you have a good point. :)

And no doubt the CV is exploding. Its becoming increasingly suburban middle class moderate to conservative leaning.

No doubt Carlos Alan Autry could do very well in all those counties that touch Hwy 99 as well as San Berdoo, Riverside, Imperial, Orange, San Diego and even pull some votes from some quarters of LA, Ventura and Santa Barbara.

That leaves the Dem with only the folks on the 101 from DLA to Humboldt. It is a good chunk but with even more folks in the east side of the state by 2010 - and a potential bruising three way primary between Tony Villar, Playboy Gavin and AG Moonbeam it will all be very interesting.

Gavin will bring out more women to vote. We're sick of these old tired looking men who hurt the eyes. We want eye candy just like the guys and Gavin is nice on the eyes. He's tall, gorgeous, classy, charismatic and smart. All the women I've spoken to don't care he had an affair. He admitted it, now admitted he has to go to rehab. He's coming off as a man who made mistake, took accountability and moved on. Antonio is still in denial and praying all his affairs stay in the closet especially the ones with the little staffers everyone in city hall knows about. Reporters even know but their editors won't let them touch the subject. National media will though.
