Mayor Sam's Hotsheet for Monday

Rick Orlov of the Daily News does a post-mortem on the living wage dust-up last week in Council. Ultimately local business - which for the first time in a while - flexed its muscle in the face of the rising socialism in LA only to be led by RINO attorney David Fleming not to the promised land but right back where they were. Oh sure, the Clowncil tossed in some corporate welfare goodies (including a much needed convention center at the airport however at the expense of all the tax money dumped on the downtown convention center) and of course all the union flacks get their palms greased with yet more of these near criminal "community benefits" packages (no wonder so many labor leaders drive sports cars). But the best part for the Clowncil is for sure the whole mess drove more and more dollars into their campaign funds from the unions and big business. 12th District Councilman Greig Smith woke from a nap to ask what was substantially different from the previous living wage proposal and this new "compromise" plan? We're still waiting for the answer too.

If you're terrified at the thought of once again hearing the words "Council Member Alarcon" or "Council Member Chick" consider a donation to David Hernandez and Ted Hayes court case against Proposition R. To donate go to www.termedout.com.

Long time local political spokes-hole Eric Rose has joined forces with legendary LA political hatchet man, Harvey Englander at his eponymous public relations firm. Rose worked previously for former State Senator Ed Davis, Laura Chick when she was on the Clowncil and all the usual big companies that suck at the public teat.

Who are the forces behind the immigrant political movement? In a two-part interview with Nativo Virgil Lopez, Full Disclosure Network host Leslie Dutton discovers the motivation and the forces behind immigrant politics. A nine minute preview of the one hour interview is available at Full Disclosure Network. Included in the preview and the two-part interview are video clips of recent immigrant demonstrations/rallies and counter protests.

CHICK SHOULD RETURN TO CD 3. SHE WAS A GREAT COUNCILMEMBER. I WOULD VOTE FOR HER.

"Frank declined to say what role DONE interim General Manager Lisa Sarno will play in the leadership shift."

ZD just got off the phone and says Lisa's future at DONE is NONE.

Bye Lisa. Sorry things didn't work out.

Laura Chick N Shit needs to come out of the closet and audit the gang programs.

DONE better get rid of Lisa Sarno or all hell will break loose citywide with neighborhoods councils. She's been a nightmare for nc's. Rumor has it if she continues with her demands telling NC's how to spend their money and keeps sending all the bullshit paperwork the Congress in April not only will be boycotted but PROTESTED IN FRONT OF THE BONAVENTURE BECAUSE OF LISA

Speaking of the articles on the Grand Avenue taxpayer rip-off, Rick Orlov has, alas, again resorted to "press release journalism." He reports as gospel anything uttered by "Jack Kyser, chief economist of the Economic Development Corp." Sounds impressive and objective, right?

What Orlov never mentions, however, is that Kyser has neither an undergraduate nor a post-graduate degree in economics, and that the "Economic Development Corp." is merely an trade association. So what Orlov should be saying is "Jack Kyser, a spokesman for developers, banks and their lawyers . . . ."

But if Orlov did that, you might not give Kyser's analysis the same weight, huh?

Yea Rick, with all due respect for the awesome work you do, Walter is right. What's up with that? Why do you guys give credence to self-described experts as Kyser or Sherry Bebitch Jeffe when it comes to these issues?

Why not throw in a little balance and chat with some thoughtful bloggers - not necessarily this old dead Republican - but folks like Walter, Joe Mailander and Zach Behrens for example - who have articulate and well informed views.

"BLAUGGIN MORNING AFTER SUPER BOWL"

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT:
On the morning after the annual celebration of "JOE SIX-PACK VALUES". One must not move head too quickly up or down or risk spinning along the lines of a "POLLONISTA PRESS HO".

OUTTAKES FROM THE RED SPOT INSTITUTE

1. "PLEDGING ALLEGIANCE TO THE PUEBLO": "LA ANTONIA TIMES education writer opines on the favorite Charter School of this blog, Academia de Semillias del Pueblo. Scribe Sipchen gets a chuckle for his comment that "Aguilar, Ferguson and company exude a kooky, cultic vibe". But they clearly care about their students. Mr. Sipchen, it is obvious that you were spun like a top. Doug on his radio show took you to task for overlooking some key issues like, MARCOS AND MINNIE ARE USING TAX PAYERS DOLLORS TO TEACH A SEPARTIST AGENDA !! I am waiting for Scribe Sipchen to come on Doug's show, stay tune.

2."DEPORTATIONS FROM COUNTY JAILS":
Bravo to the County and ICE for collaborating on this matter. What is the over and under that "HIS POLLONESS" will issue a Press Release denouncing this violation of immigrants Civil Rights. The stale, old talking points on immigration be a "FEDERAL ISSUE" is a deceitful facade. Remember this equation; 750,000 = one congressional seat.

3."BLUE MUD FLIES IN CD 14":
Cut and Pasters were at it again. Forget about the "BUD BOWL", the BLUE MUD BOWL" is far more entertaining, especially if you are a "RED HEAD". Shout out to Animal Services GM Ed Boks, that rabid mutt known as the Dockweiler needs a 72 hour Doggie Psych evaluation.

4. "KENNEDY REPUBLICAN ON AUDIO":
Interesting audio from "ZEE BUNKER" of the KENNEDY REPUBLICAN. I would concure with his description of Don "THE CRACKER" Perata, and FLABIAN Nunez. A "very sick man" and "political operator" respectivly. Arnold you need to get back, front and center, with your theme of fiscal restraint. "BONDING" the future of the youth of this state will be the "cog in the wheel" of your legacy as governor.

Good point, Sam!

From now on, my title is "Chief Economist and Legal Analyst for the L.A. Policy Institute." I will, upon request, provide pithy quotations to the press about any L.A. public policy issues.

Seriously. I'll match my qualifications against at least half the people the local press always quote.
