LAPD To Buy 6800 Taser Stun Guns
The A.P. reports that the Police Commission just okayed the purchase of 6800 Taser stun guns at a price of $7 million. No mention of whether "batteries are sold separately."Now, I don't know if that's the going price for these babies -- it works out to about $1030 per gun -- but giving officers a (usually) NON-lethal alternative to their pistols is a good idea. This could pay for itself with the first wrongful death lawsuit avoided. More importantly than the dollars saved, of course, is the lives this could save.
City Council still has to approve the deal.
Anyway, it sure seems like a better use of tax dollars than restoring an old mural . . . .

These assholes are only concerned about their fellow Mexicans...and most cops are white. Toilet Guy runs his skinny, midget legs off everyday to console an illegal, but won't even comment on OUR cops who have been killed or wounded by his fucking illegal gangbangers.
He does nothing but cover up for them...it's sorta the code of silence that all gang members have...Toilet guy was a gangbanger and he is still loyal to them.
Toilet Guy is NOT one of us and he needs his ass kicked back to Mexico, pronto! He would fit in perfectly with the corruption in that hell hole.
Toilet Guy is washed up in politics so we just have to hold our noses for 3 God awful more years.
I love Gavin Newsome...and who, knows, maybe we will have a surprise. Rumor is we have a prominent celebrity who is going to run for Gov. in 4 years. Anybody can beat Toilet Guy!
6800 Taser Guns? I mean, are there that many criminals out there that need 50,000 volts on a daily basis to keep them in line? Could not , say, 1000 new guns and a few fast police cars accomplish the same thing?
I say restore the mural at Italian Hall, and give the community something
to take pride in. Sometimes pride and accomplishment can be a much bigger
deterent to crime and the punishment.
