Next Retail Target: The Gap

Liberal activists are once again targeting a retail giant but this time its not Wal-Mart or Home Depot.

This time they want to fall into The Gap.

The tax and spend crowd is seeking to cause havoc for the clothing retailer because the owner of the company is a Republican who doesn't support the ill thought out Proposition 82, a tax and spend scheme cooked up by actor Rob "Meathead" Reiner who is already in trouble for alleged sheninigans surrounding his last boondoggle, the First Five initiative. The program has raised enough concerns that state legislators have called for a government audit of their finances. In the midst of the controversy, Reiner has stepped down as head of the government panel charged with implementing the First Five program.

Supporters of Reiner's measure say that it only affects the most wealthy of Californians and that we have to do it, well, because "it's for the children!"

What Reiner and his ilk don't get if we keep taxing and spending our state to death, there won't be any business or wealthy folks left to support future government growth.

So, if you're a capitalist and you support not having the government take more of our money, go buy a sweater at the Gap.

Postscript: The Santa Cruz Sentinel does an excellent job of explaining what a bad idea Proposition 82 is.

Couple of things.

Reiner stepped down so he can campaign full-time.

Mayor sam is so out of touch that two independent non-partisan polls have Prop 82 winning by large margins.

And has for the Gap.

A corporation that has all the executives in CA, yet files in Delaware for tax purposes, isn't exactly a friend of the State.

A man that supports vouchers over public schools, wait, he actively supports vouchers for the schools he owns, for-profit schools so he can line his pockets with your tax dollars.

Mr Don Fisher -- a man who will see ask the lord each and every day to take back the day he opposed prop 82.

Nevermind that the Gap has a corporation cuts down redwoods in Northern california actively admits to using child labor and well doesn't care.

No, Reiner stepped down cause he was feeling the heat for all the nonsense going on around the First 5 campaign. But I agree it will give him more time for other things.

Mayor sam is so out of touch that two independent non-partisan polls have Prop 82 winning by large margins.

Long time until June. Senator Perata has switched to oppose the measure. More rats will jump the sinking ship.

So what? Lots of companies are Delaware corporations. Its not the Gap's job to be a "friend of the state" whatever that means. Their job is to sell a product at a price people will pay and earn a profit for their shareholders. There is nothing illegal or immoral about that.

A man that supports vouchers over public schools, wait, he actively supports vouchers for the schools he owns, for-profit schools so he can line his pockets with your tax dollars.

He supports vouchers! OH NO! Did you know that Blacks too overwhelmingly support vouchers cause they know its a good way to get the quality education liberals have been robbing their children of for years.

And lining pockets with tax dollars? Isn't that what Reiner's friends did?

Mr Don Fisher -- a man who will see ask the lord each and every day to take back the day he opposed prop 82.

Sure - you keep that dream alive. BTW, did you know Fisher is a major supporter of UC Berkley?

Nevermind that the Gap has a corporation cuts down redwoods in Northern california actively admits to using child labor and well doesn't care.

There you go! You knew he had to play the race card - child labor card as well. Stupid liberal.
