Mayor Sam's Hotsheet for Thursday

Looks like Jerry Brown was ahead of Rocky Degladillo in fundraising for Wednesday. $29,900 to $15,600.

Count Mayor Villaraigosa as among those who wanted "Crash" to be named Best Picture. Recently, a number of commentators, including KABC Radio's Larry Elder, have noted the film paints an inaccurate picture of a racist LA, at least when you consider polls that show average folks aren't as hung up on race as activists would have us think. Steve Lopez of the LA Times also thinks the film misses the mark. This is probably why it didn't make any money.

This morning City Controller Laura Chick will hold a news conference to release her report on the assessment of over 1,000 audits, studies and reviews previously conducted of the Los Angeles Unified School District.

Matt Szabo helps to expose Hollywood hypocrisy, namely that of Academy Award winner George Clooney. In celebrating "being out of step with America," Clooney praised the Academy for giving an Oscar to Black actress Hattie McDaniel (Mammy in "Gone With the Wind") at a time when America was forcing Blacks to sit in the backs of movie theatres. Guess what? Even on Oscar night in 1939, the Academy forced McDaniel to sit in the back of the theatre. Go George!

Jerry Brown is now having some serious legal problems, according to the LA Times:

"SAN FRANCISCO — Oakland Mayor Jerry Brown has stumbled into an unlikely role in his city's crime drama after a woman charged that he grabbed her cellphone and crushed it as she shot video of him outside a nightclub."

"The Alameda County district attorney's office is investigating the alleged incident, which occurred early Sunday and was reported to police by the woman, 26-year-old Ayesha Wilson of Manteca, near Stockton."

What a liar!!!! The LA Times calendar did a puff piece on AV and pretend family shortly after he saw the film and he said then it really bothered him and was too intense. He said he really didn't like it. Typical idiot always blowing like the wind that's why our city is in a mess.
