Mayor Sam's Hotsheet for Wednesday

The results are in for Tuesday's election for the Board of Education 2nd District seat vacated by Jose Huizar when he was elected to replace Mayor Villaraigosa on the City Council. Former Huizar Chief of Staff Monica Garcia came in first with 47% of the vote. However, a win requires a simple majority of votes so Garcia will now go to a June 6th runoff with second place finisher Christopher Arellano who picked up 19% of the vote. Voter turnout was less than 10%.

Expect the Sister City to hit 500,000 hits sometime today.

Arraignment is set Wednesday for Martin Ludlow who is expected to admit to allegations he used union funds in his 2003 election campaign. He is charged with felony conspiracy and two misdemeanor counts of violating campaign laws.

Mayor Villaraigosa will attend the Wilshire Community Police Council's Spring Salute Dinner. Wednesday night, then he will appear on KCAL9's "Ask the Mayor'' segment.

Faith and begora to you all! The annual City of Los Angeles St. Patrick's Day Parade is coming on March 17th! For more information, please click here.

L.A. is going down the tubes. Going to hell with gasoline underewear. Of course, with 10% turnout in an already low voter turnout district, it doesn't take much to win. However, check the ballots and make sure that those who voted are LEGAL!
It's a shame that it has come to this in the city that i love so dearly. It's going to hell in a handbasket.
AV only has dreams of L.A. and no plan. How can people of L.A. follow a leader with no plan? You talk about Fred Brito being a con man, AV is the biggest con-man of them all. He's conned L.A. residents into thinking that he knows what he's doing. AV is like the character "Goldie" in The Mack. He's a pimp. A poverty pimp like Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and the rest of them. What are you all going to do when he's indicted with Martin Ludlow. I hope you will all be as embarassed and ashamed as I am, and our entire community is with Martin.
Monica will be just an AV puppet. I hope that David Tokofsky, Marguerite Lamotte and the other members of the board don't cave into her just because of her ties to AV. Now if she sat on them, they might cave....LOL

I can't belive this can be true. In LA Times "A Review of City Bonuses is ordered" the story states that the city give out $117 MILLION IN BONUSES. Damn, no wonder we have a deficit. Isn't Chick's job to watch crap like this? Reporters there is a story of corruption here go after it. $117 MLLION is absurb.

I loved the article about Rocky criticizing Mayor Brow for the homicide rate. Rocky's aruging that he learned about crime as a "Latino child" when the Los Avenues chased him.

What a crock of mierda. First, Rocky is only part Latino and he never had a run in with the Los Avenues. This guy will do and say anything to win, including reiventing himself.

Get a clue Rocky. Your lies are only going to get you in more trouble. I want to see you win, but not through deceit.

You probably read the Pew report. 12 million illegals in the US and counting. In LA County, 1 of 7 workers illegal. In LA, an estimated 1 resident in 10 here illegally. AV, Mahony, Bush, Chamber of Commerce: they're all the same.
