Don't Break The Rules

Some time ago Mayor Sam laid down the law when it came to comments on elected's families, especially their kids. Don't go there with any crap.

Its one thing if the kid is an adult and is prominent in the biz themselves (e.g. Bernard Parks, Jr.). Its another thing if the kid is just along for the ride.

There have been some pretty rude comments directed towards the Mayor's family on here in the last day. The offensive items have been removed and as we catch them, we will remove more. I am sure you can find other ways to be critical.

Agreed Archie. Antonio is putting his kids and wife out there just for photo ops so that makes them public figures as well. I don't think its nice but people have said about his son however, you can't censor 1st ammendment rights of people.

Archie and friends:

You all make a valid point: each of you has the absolute right to make an ass out of yourself.

Kudos to the power behind this blog for attempting to inject some level of civility into our cyber discourse.

The only real way to inject civility here is to ban anonymous posting and fake identities.

Of course, then there would be nobody here, and nobody reading.

does this mean we can't refer to a candidate's presence (i.e., gerth, weight, lack of self control as it concerns eating)?

Ok, ok… no more dish about who the boy fancies. Can we talk about how his Daddy chases pussy enough for both of them?

It's right to lay off the kids even if their parents use them as props.

Now, there's some great political advice for Antonio; follow Jimmy Hahn's example.

Wait, I guess I got the results of the last election wrong...how many points did Jimmy win by?

C'mon, guys, there is a big difference between photo ops and campaigning. If the kids are out giving speeches and saying and doing things publicly, it is much different than sitting or standing with the Mayor for photo ops.

Lay off the attacks on the kids; you unhappy losers have plenty of target with Antonio himself, and he has shown that he can take it and give back.

No? Well, just ask Nick Pacheco about payback.

Phil,
And Tony the liar's payback was a well orchestrated campaign of lies that Parke Skelton put out, but that makes it okay because Tony won. Everybody aligned with Nick was targetted, yet they weren't the candidates, but it's okay because Tony won.

Regarding Tony's son, give the kid credit. He's 17 and has two gay uncles so if he goes that route, more power to him. But at least he isn't following his dad's footsteps, otherwise he would have been a father already, but if he were a father, being that he is also Corina's son, I'm sure he would have had the character to accept this responsibility. Unlike his father who at that age got his friends together to say that they threw a train on the girl that Tony got pregnant at 16. This is politics Phil, everybody tied to a candidate is fair game, just ask Parke.

How about the rude comments about Jim Hahn's wife?

That's how you know that the young kids shouldn't have such high paying jobs in City Hall. They can't handle responsibility wisely. They're too young.
