The trifecta... GOP/conservatives control all three branches.
What the HELL ever happened to the "blue" party tripe about the Dems being the "mainstream" of America, and Republicans being the "fringe" nut cases. Looks more like the left-wing "inmates" lost control of the asylum, got spanked, and were sent to bed without their valium.
Party's over! Lights out Democrats. Can't get much more "fringier" than losing all three branches at a period in time when a not-so popular war is going on, and the president is being portrayed daily in mass media as a cowboy dum-dum.
This is about the time Dick Nixon swooped in, during the 60s when the roles were reversed -- but the democrats don't even have anyone as "attractive" to America as a Dick Nixon!
How miserable is THAT scenario.
Wouldn't want to be a Democrat today. Might as well be a prohibitionist in 1933.

One month after he was fired by Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, the former head of the city’s animal shelters is up for a three-month, $50,000 consulting contract that would allow him to advise the City Council on animal issues and economic development.
Both Ronald Reagan and Mayor Sam switched to Republican late in their lives. They didn't leave the Democratic party, the party left them.

Why not? It's gonna be decades before we have another Democrat in the Statehouse or in The White House.

Interesting point, Archie, since neither Riordan or Av ever seem to be able to say more than three words without stammering and stopping and not even completing a sentence.
Has any ever seen them both speaking at the same time?
I want to see Riordan drink a glass of water while AV talks, first.
