I could not believe what I was reading in the Daily News this morning - LAUSD officials saying that kids are moving out faster than they are moving in. If that is the case, why are you building more schools at taxpayers' expense, and why do district officials keep asking for more bonds and getting them (unfortunately)?
Just look at the traffic out on the street and tell me that they are moving out. Another lame excuse by our Superintendent Roy Romer and other district officials. Just fire them all and put in new ones.

Huizar should be ashamed of himself. I've heard from his insiders that they were shocked when he hired Alvin. The newspapers wrote what a snake Alvin is and yet Jose still hires him for payback. What does that say about what type of seedy character Jose is? Perception is everything and how does Jose think people are perceiving him these days? The difference is now AV will be busy with photo ops all over city. Jose will be alone in CD14 fend for himself aganist all the ACTIVE MEMBERS not the ones who voted for him. THERE ARE COMMUNITY MEETINGS ALVIN BETTER NOT GO TO. WE WILL GET THE MEDIA THERE AND NAIL YOUR ASS TO THE WALL FOR ALL YOUR CORRUPTION. NICE WAY TO START WITH JOSE IN OFFICE.

Your simplicity and transparent race baiting is astounding in this day and age, particularly given the difficult struggle American society has endured over the issue of race.
For one, your generalization that "they" [the black community] always have to resort to violence" is nothing short of stupid. Sadly, American society is rooted in violence - from fighting the natives for this land, to enslaving Africans, to beating down civil rights protesters to invading Iraq. It is not a "black" response to challenging issues, but a cultural response by some in society.

Although I generally like to post under my real name when I come here, I know that if I were to say what I really feel about Walt Disney, people would be horrified. My own family is. I DESPISE DISNEY. I DESPISE DISNEYLAND. It is NOT the happiest place on Earth. It is however, the greediest place on earth and I taught my children that very early.
I think Disney was the most racist, anti woman, anti gay, anti equality, anti everything person who ever entered the industry. I am even sickened by the voices of the crows in Dumbo with their black voices and I think it's bullshit that it was simply "a sign of the times". I think it sucks the way Disneyland packs in more people than they can possibly accomodate. It is so unfair to take a kid there and they get to ride on three rides the whole day. This happened to me three times. The only day I ever went there and it was uncrowded was January 20,1994 when my husband had to go to Anaheim for a trade show and I didn't want to be left alone in Northridge with no power, food, water, etc. with my 4 year old.
I didn't feel all the aftershocks, but I watched them from the hotel room.
Why can't Disneyland TELL CA residents that the park is so overcrowded that there are 3 hour lines for everything and if they wish, they can come back at a different date. Maybe then - I wouldn't despise Disneyland so bad, although I would still hate Walt.
I know this is an unpopular view to have especially because so many people have jobs at Disney in Burbank, but since I don't work in that industry, I don't share that loyalty.

Hymon's wrong, Nellie was "appointed" by AV to a commission the SAME DAMN DAY Huizar won (with hubbie Parra's slimey help). . not NINE days later. That may have been when it was taken uop in council, but he signed the letter (and fired another commissioner to make room for her), the DAY the election results were announced.
