EAA Alleges Spying

According to the Daily News, a labor dispute between the city and one of its unions escalated Thursday with new allegations of unfair labor practices, including possible spying at a union gathering last month.

"
Officials with Los Angeles World Airports said the union's complaint that airport police Officer Larry Henderson misrepresented himself as an EAA member at a gathering at the union's offices prior to the LAX protest has been referred to acting airport police chief Brian Walker.

Henderson did not return calls seeking comment, and it couldn't be determined Thursday whether he was acting on his own or at the direction of supervisors."

The mayor should stop the BS and support the EAA. If the city is broke, he should have stood up to D'Arcy. Any claims now that the city "can't afford it" ring hollow.

To Anonymous at 12:25 p.m. Isn't one problem that Mayor V (first as a Councilmember and now Mayor) said Yes to IBEW in 2005 after having said no (0% increase first year) to SEIU and AFSCME in 2004 and now "No" to EAA, the Fire and Police Unions? Additonally, isn't a second problem the alleged $248 million deficit next FY on the heals of a prior year deficit forecast (FY 2005) that turned into the largest budget surplus transferred to the following year (FY 2006)? It certqainly seems we have several messy issues involved here not the least of which is a double standard.

The mayor's selective, hypocritical use of "no" IS a huge problem.

"boohoo it's not fair! It's not fair. IBEW this and that. Boohoo." BooFreakingHoo. Cry me a river. Yes, it's not fair. Life is not fair.

The mayor made his offer of 6.5% over 3 years and maybe some perks. Take it. Don't like it? Do what I did: Leave the city and transfer to DWP.

If this "MESS" continues to generate press, the Mayor might have to contemplate future political asperations WITHOUT the help of labor.
