Someone should register this site and start printing the truth about Tony Villar.

The guy really needs to get over himself. He's not the freaking President, and he's not nearly as charismatic as people are making him out to be. One of the 25 greatest leaders in America??? If that's the case, we're even more screwed in this country than I thought. Last I checked, as Mayor, Tony V. hasn't done all that much besides prance around from event to event to look good in front of the cameras, pondering his next move while his posse of admirers and yes men make him feel like a million bucks.

At least with Hahn, we KNEW the guy wasn't doing anything besides watering his lawn in San Pedro. Villar's illusion of energy is giving Angelinos false hope -- someone with seemingly as much "leadership ability" and "coalition-building skills" ought to be doing great things. This is even more true given Villar's insane approval ratings and unprecedented political capital. But "Photo Op Tony," as I like to call him, is too busy getting his name in the paper for all the wrong reasons.

Wake up, LA. Demand real leadership from Tony Villar.

I can tell you from personal experience that getting his domain will take FOREVER. The companies that host domains hold your domain in limbo for arbitrary amounts of time trying to get you to re-purchase it - even if you tell them you don't want to.

I had to buy a domain that a friend let expire and it took 6 months. The whole process was nuts.

If you really want to buy this domain, I would recommend contacting Network Solutions and just telling them that you'll pay them a couple grand as soon as the "holding" period is over. Pay the bribe upfront, and usually they will up the price with some sort of b.s. "fees", and it's yours.

I don't think that you can trademark a family name, but you should probably check up on that before you buy the domain.

Yah Nick, here's your chance to be "somebody." If I was you I would request an investigation.
If votes were not being shifted, why were LA's results stalled from the count as we saw on TV.
By the way, were there any exit polling conducted. The LA Times deceided not to because "it would be to expensive."
49% would give you a second run at it.

Get a life...the guy flew to ROSA PARKS FUNERAL!!! I guess some people dont understand the importance of Rosa Parks and the presence of leadership from one of the largest US cities (who spoke there). Had our mayor waited to fly regular travel he would have never made it....way too many things going in the city than you guys freaking out about the jet thing....

Politicians who accept thousands of dollars of goods and services from special interests are not to be trusted. Whether it's Arnold taking money from a body-building magazine that depends on the unregulated sale of steroids, or whether it's Photoraigosa getting $38,000 private jet rides from a company accused of predatory lending, it STINKS. As political commentator Forrest Gump once said, sort of, "Crooked is as crooked does."

With the flight of the remaining CD14 bloggers, the Mayor Sam blog has now become Walter Moore vs. Archie Bunker (although that may actually consitute a redundancy, or at least "shadow boxing," in the blogosphere.)

Why would it EVER be acceptable for the mayor or any other city official to accept valuable gifts and services from anyone whose business is affected by city regulations? I don't think having billionaire developer Eli Broad or any other developer provide a jet would solve the ethics problem at all.

Rosa Parks wasn't buried withing an hour of passing away. I would have thought a staff member would inquire about funeral arrangements immediately and then the mayor would have had ample opportunity to fly commercial. No, our mayor believes he is too important.

You are correct. Conflicts of interest and ethical behavior has no party. To say the he followed the rules by paying for it (coach fare?) makes it OK? How does a $30K flight cost equal 4 coach tickets. Maybe he thought they were on the Concorde like all the other big dollar Hollywood types....
And for Archie......
I don't see any racial slurs when you talk about your favorite MAV.....
Or are you just hiding behind the "administrator" again.

Funeral arrangements weren't finalized until late Wednesday.

There's no ethical dilemma here since the City has neither a contract nor pending business with the company. Finally, regulation over lending practices is determined at the State and Federal levels NOT municipal.

Oh that really testing the administrator there Archie.....
Just keep taking Antonio's car to the car wash for him.....don't forget the "buff and polish".

That no where compares to referring to a State Assembly member and a female Dodger administrator as "chinks". My question is who is the administrator and why only censoring selected racial slurs.

Passionate discussion of issues should have no bearing on whether your red white blue black brown yellow green purple ....ah did I leave out a color..wouldn't want to offend anyone (PC you know)
Insert here ___________.
But where one's personal history and experiences enters the discussion is where we all learn about and understand (different that accept) each others point of view and positions. I have no problem with your use of Archie as a platform to show how discussion of issues and events has been "sanitized" and racial undercurrents white washed as if they don't have bearing on forming opinions. Not that adding racial slurs helps thoughful discussion, but using it hurts the process of making breakthroughs in understanding and creating solutions. Its sort like of watching CD 14 bloggers battle it out with insults versus coming up with real solutions and a understanking of what their community really needs.
But "Tony Montana", I could only figure that your playing down to the readers of this blog assuming that they only understand movie references and characters they can "relate to"?
I like your comments, your perspectives and your angle on issues. Its just the "administrators" lack of consistency on use of racial slurs.

BTW: Though I have not asked for your background, and not taking the Archie Bunker as blue collar white male living in a lower middle class neighborhood on the east coast, Here a partial answer to your question.
..3rd generation "American" no hyphen, active in local politics, family presence in downtown LA since 1907, son of a WWII vet, product of public schools, started college as a "Diablo" but graduated as a "Golden Eagle" due to PC crap. But no matter where I go, what group I'm speaking before, what issue I am campaigning for, I still get asked....
"So when did you come to the USA?"
I usually respond with "when my great-grandfather (in 1880 China)sent his #3 son to America to find a better life, since he knew he couldn't provide a future for him."

PS: Rob Reiner is still a "Meat Head".

The truth about Tony Villar? interesting because no one really knows Tony or Jose Huizar.

how stupid do they think people in D14 are? we know about the polling places opening the voter box that should have been sealed, we also know about the polling places going through the votes and pulling out some of the votes, 50+, other polls allowed jose huizars campaign people come in to the polling places with their campaign slogon vote for Huizar,
how many of you witness the boxes being open at the polling place, did you know your are guilty by association, this is a federal offence.

Eagle Rock want to know who is Huizar and who voted for him?

Huizar thanks Boyle Heights, by not showing up at their first parade. Huizar was not missed, but the BhNC did an excellent job.

Thank you BHNC,

I believe this should be a tradition, for the Mayor and Councilmen not showing to the parade. We should drive an empty black car or buggy with the sign, the mayor and councilmen do not recognize Boyle Height Parade.

Absent in the community is, the Mayor and our Councilmen.

I guess everyone was really right on when they said that it was all of Pacheco's people on this blog. Since he got his ass kicked, there has been hardly any action whatsoever. One must believe that instead of campaigning, they really were on here blogging.

Lesson learned. Maybe that is why Alger isn't here anymore.

If anyone witness any inappropiete or questionable process/actions at the voting places, please call:

state level election complaints and investigations (se habla espanol)
1-800-345-8683
1-800-815-2666
1-916-657-2166

It is my understanding that the boxes holding the votes should never be open at the voting place or inside the District. This is not a standard practice.

It is my understanding that allowing people to come in the voting area or within 100 feet of it with campaign t-shirts or signs or speaking of any candidate maybe a violation of federal law.

don't be afraid of comfroting questionable practices.

Now, attacking Mrs. Pacheco, this is definitely not a Pacheco supporter. This person style of speaking and writing, attacking, mannerism of criticizing Pacheco and his family is definitely recognizable individual. Do we know who it is? yes

This people that find it necessary to attack this family, has problems. I am just hoping this is not a reflection of Huizar and the Mayor Villaraigosa.

I don't think so, because Huizar knows the family very well, and he would not disrespect the family in this manner.

Message to this person, Huizar is the new Councilmen in District 14th which includes Boyle Heights, the campaign is over.

The person attacking Mrs. Pacheco, I am sure, does not know her. She is a devoted wife and mother of two wonderful young adults, and a Business Professional, working for a well known and respected company in the community, that offers hundreds of job for communities like Boyle Heights.

You can attack PACHECO’S CAMPAIGN TEAM as much as you want to, and if Pacheco’s Team was so bad, why did it take Huizar over $700,000.00 over 600 employees, the support and endorsement of the Political Machine of Antonio Villaraigosa, the endorsement of the eight council persons, Gloria Molina, the labor unions, the contractor’s money and many more to beat Pacheco. Pacheco is definitely not a loser; Huizar and Mayor Villaraigosa did not put so much effort to fight a loser.

Our Mayor Villaraigosa and Huizar knew that they had to have plenty of money and support to beat Pacheco. They are not stupid, and they would have not spend more than half a million for their campaign and mail hundreds of attacks against Pacheco, they did not attack the other candidates, except for taking down their signs.
