More Follow-Up on the Animals
In a bit of a funny animal story, today at 9 a.m. Mayor Villaraigosa, Councilman Tom LaBonge and Zoo Director John Lewis will welcome two new additions to the Los Angeles Zoo. I hope he doesn't mean the Mayor and LaBonge :-)
In a bit of serious news, City Beat runs an article entitled, "Welcome to the Jungle -- Protest! Smoke bombs! Euthanasia videos! Resistance to L.A. Animal Services chief Guerdon Stuckey has inspired a citywide discussion of what it means to be an activist, and thrown the department into disarray"
We also received an e-mail regarding an update on the animal promises that the Mayor has yet to keep. Below is a snippet... (the entire e-mail can be found at MS2)
Also on MS2 is ADLLA's response to the Daily News Rick Orlov article on Tuesday.

ADL is of course pissed that the Mayor said he won't fire the General Manager as he promised. They made a nice little "fan" webpage for the Mayor here. I'm sure this will piss Antonio off even more and make him more steadfast in his decision to not honor his campaign promise. He doesn't like being pushed into anything. Why oh why did Antonio ever take that photo? ADLs main site is stopthekilling.net. They also picketed his old house October 29. They didn't realize he'd already moved to the Mayor's mansion. There's an update on their picketing here.On another funny note, I just looked at the video of AV stating that he'll fire the GM during his campaign. He actually said "when I'm Mayor Gerald Stuckey will not be the General Manager." The guy's name is actually Guerdon Stuckey. Gerald Greenwalt was the last GM. So, in a way he's kept his campaign promise ;-) My bad.

Is this the sort of thing you are reduced to now, MF? You guys are supposed to know something about politics. You could help point out to these activists everything wrong in what they are doing and how they even think about advancing a cause here and now.
Please don't settle for being the spit-wad crew of city politics. You really are better than that.

Mayor Photoraigosa at it again! I suppose he did something to bring the animals here?

I thought Antonio's statement (to the humane community that did not endorse him) about getting rid of Stuckey was qualified the following day by one of candidate's cadets to say Stuckey would be fired IF he was not doing his job.
The juvenile and pathologically obscene web rantings of ADL are the product of very, very sick minds.
The zealots at ADL are demanding Stuckey be replaced by a GM of their choice. Try to find out the name of their candidate.

Antonio never said he would only fire him "if" he wasn't doing his job. He just said he'd fire him. In fact every candidate at the convention said they'd fire him, except maybe Parks, not sure on that. FTR Hahn was not at the convention.
If he made a promise, he should keep it.
The humane community actually did endorse Antonio. He just didn't get the most votes at the CHULA convention. The humane community bought ads, campaigned and donated. Some ADL people backed Walter Moore. They also ran their anti-Hahn campaign.

Stupid leaders, private and public, jump into leadership roles and do the drastic thing of cutting off heads before assessing the issue.
In this case it's wise to evaluate people BEFORE taking the drastic action of firing them. These animal lunatics would have the City prioritize animals over many more important human issues(that's right, I said human with the implication that we humans are more important than dogs and cats).
This issue is complex. And saying that firing one person is going to solve this problem is simplified and ignorant.

You are wrong. Obviously you know nothing about Stuckey.
