Tardiness and Wasted Time

West LA Online posts regarding the spar between Westside Councilmembers Weiss and Rosendahl reported by Rick Orlov in the Daily News.

The rub? Weiss' stance against time wasted vs. Rosendahl's note of Weiss' tardiness.

Adding to the chaos, Orlov follows up with this gem regarding Padilla's problems of allowing ceremonies for the groundbreaking of the Children's Museum at the same time as a scheduled Council Meeting. Padilla stated in the article:
"We had no choice," Padilla said. "We were trying to accommodate a lot of officials from all over the country who rearranged their schedule to come here. Besides, the council was able to meet and I arrived a little late ..."

And Padilla said he also felt the event was worth it.

"This is a $20 million project that we have been waiting for a long time to see get started," Padilla said. "
Or as we point out the obvious, it also makes for a great campaign photo op.

Weiss is an idiot. He shoots his mouth off every chance he gets. He is right those damn proclamations take way too much time and most are stupid. However, you have about much chance to get politicians to give those up those as you would campaign contributions.

The whole sad thing is that because of Weiss' moronics, those kids he cancelled probably missed out on recognition they deserved.

Way to go Jack-ass!

Rosendahl is right behind Weiss as the idiots of council. Stupid comments are made by both. If Lameboy Padilla had any type of leadership all members would be in their seats on time. Instead they still think of him as a young boy and disrespect him in chambers.

Why are all those press releases on Padilla on the city website from a week ago?????? So he can pretend he's doing something?

Garcetti or Strip Club Gruel should be Council President we need someone more mature instead of that 6'4 child Padilla.

Rosendahl has been a big disappointment. His big solutions after his first 100 days are calling for left turn pockets (now there's some original thinking) and calling for another committee this time on homelessness. His staffers are clueless and complain that Bill has them switching direction based on the cause of the day. It's apparent that he was good at compaigning but had no plan at all for actually BEING the Councilman.

Is Alex Padilla contemplating running as a woman to overcome the almost 20% gap between women and male voters in SD20?

Not a fan of Rosendahl, but 100 days is NO TIME to start handing out evaluations.

As for a committee on homelessness, why hasn't the council taken this up before now? This is a significant problem that deserves the City's immediate attention.

As an 11th District voter and a city employee who voted for Krisiloff in the primary and somewhat reluctantly voted for Rosendahl in the runoff, I'll say I have been favorably impressed with him so far. He is smart, engaged, and refreshingly unafraid of sacred cows. He refuses to let things slip through the council without public questioning. As for his staff, I have been pretty impressed. He has some seasoned pros, and even the green ones seem quite bright.
