8:30 AM --LA Airport Commission meeting. Samuel Greenberg Board Room, Clifton A. Moore Administration Building, Los Angeles International Airport, 1 World Way.

9:50 AM -- Mayor Villaraigosa, Councilwoman Greuel and Supervisor Yaroslavsky will tour the soon-to-open Metro Orange Line. North Hollywood Orange Line Station, intersection of Lankershim and Chandler boulevards.

10:00 AM -- Councilman Parks and the LAPD will hold a news conference to formally thank South Los Angeles resident Michael Walker for helping authorities find the body of an abandoned baby Oct. 10. City Hall, City Council media room, 200 N. Spring St.

10:00 AM -- LA City Council's Public Safety Committee meeting. City Hall, Room 1010, 200 N. Spring St.

10:00 AM -- A dedication ceremony will be held for the Mike Gordon Library at El Segundo Middle School. The El Segundo Unified School District Board of Trustees voted to name the library for the assemblyman, who died in June after a four-month battle with cancer. 322 Center St.

12:00 PM -- LA City Council's Ad Hoc Stadium Committee meeting. City Hall, Room 350, 200 N. Spring St.

1:30 PM -- A status conference is scheduled for former Fleishman-Hillard executives Doug Dowie and John Stodder, who are accused of overbilling the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power. Courtroom 740, Roybal Federal Building, 255 E. Temple St.

My wife met the mayor this morning. She mentioned he comes across a bit of an airhead. But, she likes the fact he genuinely smiles and greets people. She said he would be a good actor not politcian. Her thoughts were, nice person but not much in the noodle area.
