There was an article in the LA Times several days ago mentioning that Alex Padilla received several congressional endorsements for his state senate bid.

Has Cindy Montanez formally announced her candidacy? The local newspapers seem to imply that she has but I have not heard anything about it.

GREAT EDITORIAL DAILY NEWS

A deficit of courage
Council and the mayor show they're loyal to city unions, not the public......
The most disappointing thing about the Los Angeles City Council's debate over giving Department of Water and Power workers raises was not that they caved in to a public-employee union again. It was that they pretended to grapple with the issue at all.

Anon 657,

He's desperately trying to create his own little momentum before Parke & co. unleash on him. Women voters out # voters in the 20th by almost 15%.

If you notice, he's only announced women names. None which live no where near the district.

The biggest names at the moment ARE NOT going with him.

AP is going to fizzle out. He's clearly trying to clear the field with these "big" names. There's no bigger name out there that isn't going with him. His operation will be under attack very soon. Keep Your Eyes Peeled.

Nicky had his ass handed to him at the critical Northeast Dem Club endorsement last night. Out of 58 votes he only got 4, coming in 3rd place (yep, I said 3rd place) behind Ruby DeVera. Huizar got 1st with 70% of the vote. And before you Pacheco staffers start blogging spin, no, I don't recall seeing any CD 14 staffers there loading the vote. This was the dem club itself voting.

I read earlier today on the Blog City Hall site that the Mayor is going to re-hire Lydia Kennard. Is he nuts? Doesn't he know that she's the one the screwed up the airport completely and then took a powder just before the crap hit the fan? Who' he paying off with this one?
