Majority of City Council endorse Jose Huizar
Mom always said that you can tell a lot about an individual by the friends they keep.
Question -- How do you measure someone that seemingly has no friends?
Thats the Nick Pacheco dilemma -- Earlier today at 2pm Jose Huizar received the support of a majority of the Los Angeles City Council.
These endorsements include - Alex Padilla, Wendy Greuel, Tony Cardenas, Tom La Bonge, Ed Reyes, Greig Smith and Councilman Jack Weiss.
The interesting little side note -- every one mentioned served in Council with Nick Pacheco. Where is the love? Where are the Council colleagues during Nick's time of need? Essentially representatives from the Valley, Eastside, Westside and Mid-City all reject Nick Pacheco's candidacy.
I think I can already predict the posts coming up.
I've also posted a map of Eagle Rock -- can you find Waldo's house?

Parke Skelton (aka Chief Parker) Make up your mind...first you are against Pacheco, then support him, then now you are biased and sound supportive of huizar by your opinions posted.
Just tell everyone the truth, the truth is that you are Parke Skelton spinning the news and you have no idea how people will react until you post this crap.
I'm glad I live no where near CD14, I would hate to be governed by these people

Carvin was hired by the Controller’s Office in March 2002 as a special investigator to “examine irregularity, fraud and impropriety on the part of city employees and contract personnel.” His hiring appeared to mark a new direction by Chick, whose office is staffed primarily with auditors, who generally are not trained to develop cases for prosecution. With 35 years under his belt as a federal and local investigator, Carvin came highly recommended, and arrived with an eye toward examining alleged bill padding by private law firms hired by the city. But when he asked about the performance of the lawyers hired by the City Attorney’s Office to handle a major public-works lawsuit, he was fired within a matter of weeks
Can any of these two candidates help Dan Carver get the truth out to the people?

Most, if not all, of these same CMers endorse Pacheco in 2003 -- see where that got HIM Sleezy??
Maybe it's better NOT to have the house (um) servants(?) pulling for you when they're all trying to be Mayor Soundbite's new best friend.

GOOD, I noticed you didn't try and count the votes Chief. Your version of number tallies SUCKS since you LIED about how many fake neighborhood watches ADV pretended to start in CD14 while he was stealing his VERY large CM salary for two years.
Here's a NEWS FLASH for you, Chief Faker... NONE of the councilmembers named GET TO VOTE in THIS ELECTION!
(If you think Huizar has low name recognition CD14, just try asking the average Jane who Wendy Gruel and Jack Weiss areand they'll tell you they were on the last SHUTTLE MISSION).
It's just among us CD14 rats, and stats show Pacheco has 5X the name recognition as little Huizy, even though they both served the are for the same number of years. Jose SURE didn't make much of an impression on the Eastside, even being Board president.
Now, why don't you be a good little Parke-stooge and go ask him how many of Pacheco's "alleged" ethical violations you keep referencing, without specifics, (Parke and Co. published 5-6 of them in the last CM race), he can actually PROVE (= ZERO).
Won't work this time sleaze-bags.

C'mon Mayor, enforce these idiots who can't stay on subject; it's time consuming and boring to have to wade through the spin.

Eddie's bucking to be the next PLANNING chief, under Antonio. He tells everyone within earshot what a load of crap AV is and how he screwed his district AND CD1, then kisses up to AV's little baby boy, Jose.

Reyes has said several times AV let things go to hell in shared issues -- Southwest Museum, ICO, and on and on, and they Villaraigosa just rides in at the end to claim credit for fixes other people work out. What good is Huizar going to do you, Ed? He's the yokel let Taylor Yard get wawy as a school site, so you got THOUSANDS of kids in CD1 standing on top of each other in crowded far away high schools.
No way you drank to kool-aid, Reyes -- you're just hoping nobody sees you pretending to sip it.

Your "mom" was right Parker (so you're only HALF a bastard?) -- The friends Huizar is keeping are the SAME lowlifes dragging their knuckles around behind ADV a few months ago, Alatorre, Snyder, Hernandex, Murelo, and even "PLEASE buy my wife, Eli" Alvin Parra.
I gotta go take a shower!

Considering Chief Faker's reputation for lying about numbers (*80 to 100 times), there's no way of knowing it this post is even true.

Besides the lunch with South, the live auction featured one with Assembly Speaker Fabian Núñez - an interesting offering since the two clashed last year and Núñez challenged South's Democratic credentials. Núñez went for $550 less than South.
"There's no logical explanation for it, although Garry (is known to) give a year's worth of advice in an hour," said Núñez spokesman Steve Maviglio.

THERE IS NO MONEY FOR CITIZENS FOR HEALTHCARE AGES 19-62, BUT THERE IS THIS FOR ILLEGALS?
Facility offers day laborers a foundation
POMONA - Every other day Miguel Dimas settles down at the bank of computers at the city's day labor center and writes home.
Dimas, 22, signs-on to read the latest news from his family in Morelia, Michoacan, Mexico. They tell him of the latest goings-on and occasionally send pictures.
The Pomona Economic Opportunity Center, also called the Pomona Day Labor Center, is more than a place for workers to land jobs. About 70 workers show up daily. Of those, about 40 find jobs every day.
More than a year went by before a center was established through the efforts of activists, workers, local leaders and Assembly Speaker Fabian Nunez, who was then a Claremont Colleges student.

Privately Jack Weiss told Pacheco that he expected Nick to win. So much for his endorsement.

Garcetti owes Pacheco bigtime, too (but don't hold your breath). This is all about being "seen" with Mayor Photo-Op at the right time. And why is this the "right" time?
What do all almost ALL those CM's have in common BESIDES working with Pacheco years ago and endorsing AV's little boy now?
EASY (SLEAZY)...
They're ALL going to have to start their next campaigns for non-council gigs the week after next -- and a temporarily popular sitting mayor can do them more good than an ex-Council colleague, even though AV has NEVER ONCE delivered on a political promise since he jumped on the L.A. civic payroll.

ok , so endorsements from city coucil members on the westside are going to influence the CD 14 election? yeah , right?
the only endorsement that might make a difference would be Ed reyes , other than that good luck.
Jose Huizar is not running fro Mayor , he is running for CD 14 Council Member. So I don't think westside endorsemenrts will help him , I personally think it will hurt him.
Now JAn Perry's endorsement , which I don't think she will make one , myb opinion , because she has to work with the winner , especially on Downtown Issues.
It is going to be a hard race for Huizar .

The voters of CD14 are not dummies. They know that this is all mayoral politics and nothing to do with Jose Huizar's talents. Reyes has an agenda he needs the Mayor's support on - simple as that.
Anonymous said:
Are the council members that much afraid of the mayor, so are the thug rumors true. Does AV employ ex veterans to twist their arms?
Anonymous said:
ex veterans incorrect, meant ex gang members.

Like I said, AV is the man right now. Unfortunately, is outside looking in. It's like Governor Arnold all over again. Whatever AV touches at the moment,is what's hot. Sorry, Nick, but don't quit your day job.

Gaylord Perry ... his arm is worn out.....

I'd like to see Hillary Clinton drop her bid to run for the presidency to take the school board position. But, then again, I'm sure the CD 14 mafia might have some shit on her, as well. Oh well.

Hey fuckheads,
Huizar will win. He ahs all the resoucrces he needs to do so. Plus cd14 will be much better off with him in office. any idiot can run a council office. it doesn't take a rocket scientist to put toghether a team of pothole fillers and permit parking granters. thats all the majority of constituents want anyway. weezie is better because he has a coallition behind him. he has connections in sacrementa and dc as well. he and AV can bring in CDBG money to boylke hts that you can kiss goodbye if Pachueco wins, god forbid. nobody wants to touch that sonavabitch even with a 10 foot pole.
so waht if weezie's camp is committing infantile errors? so torres gets a letter and the LAtime gets an accidental email? the campaign money's in the bank, the county fed will soon drown eastLA with hordes of political union operatives (some of the best political hatchetmen in the industry!), Pachueco will be lucky to raise 10,000 more dolloras.
lets put this fucker to bed. all you lame ass Pachueco dick suking cd 14 NC board members, get with the program! switch sides while you still have a chance, before Councilmember Huizar organizes groups and you fuckers are slate-voted the hell out of your meager $50,000 a year budget!!!!!

Monica Garcia
Alvin Parra
Cynthia Ruiz.

MOnica Garcia would do a good job
Alvin Parra has bad history and lies
Anonymous said:
Why would Cynthia Ruiz jeapordize her 100,00+ dollar a year?
Anonymous said:
Reyes (a little) and Garcetti are the only endorsements that matter in the area. They've both represented part of the district (more so Garcetti, who is still very popular in mt. washington and glassel (sp?)). I agree that these other endorsements don't mean shit. Only AV, Garcetti, Reyes, and perhaps Goldberg, if she swings that way this time. And who has the operation on the ground to help. I think Goldberg jumps on board and Garcetti is more likely to be with Huizar, a friend, than with Pacheco, who he was loyal to before, but which got him nowhere. We'll see.
Anonymous said:
Cynthia Ruiz is to sophisticated for Huizar's LAUSD seat!
Mary Lou Calanche just doesn't have what it takes.
And Monica Garcia is just too fat for the the seat! Rumor has it Huizar is supporting her to hide all his dirty laundry. Sorry Mary Lou Calanche! You might want to think about endorsing Pacheco.
Anonymous said:
Lou Maria Cal. (c'mon, she's lost too many times and so can't raise money)
Ana Cubas (too many enemies; too little money; too many unreturned phone calls)
Rolando Cuevas (never heard of him)
Monica Garcia (too many pds; too many screw ups at District).
Alvin Parra (too many lies; too many lies; too many lies (e.g., see memo to Riordan and Broad))

Interesting that NOT ONE councilmember mentioned anything about Sleazy Huizy's accomplishments because he doesn't have any. Voters in CD14 don't care about outsiders. What a bunch of kiss ass losers these councilmembers turned out to be all because they are afraid of Antonio. We have no leadersip on council. Jose is associated with LAUSD and that's enough to make him lose. This election is being FIXED AND BOUGHT BY ANTONIO. Why doesn't the LA reporters do a story on that????????
Anonymous said:
I hear Huizar waiting for AV to tell him to support for the LAUSD. It's all part of the deal Huizar cut to get AV's support.
Anonymous said:
This is 1999 all over again. Only difference is Nick has volumes of accomplishments in CD 14 and Victor Griego was a much better campaigner. Remember that outcome?
Anonymous said:
I think only 2 of the councilmembers have even worked with Sleazy Huizy Jose. It just proves what butt kissers they are to Antonio. How do they sleep at night being so weak? Reyes should be ashamed of himself. I hear Little Jose is getting private lessons on how city council runs by Lameboy Padilla. Too late to do your homework Jose you should have known all along. Pacheco is going to tear you apart at the debates. Wonder if Jose will have to wear an earpiece to get the answers?
Anonymous said:
Oh Bitter Nick, how do you sleep at night! We catch you lying again. You know who is responsible for Reyes being on council and you know it is NOT you. You did not put him there. He is not there because of you. He owes you nothing and proved it as soon as he arrived to chambers. Quit lying Bitter Nick. We know your lies. We know when you take credit for other's work. CD 14 deserves better. Stop the lies. Beat Nick

Wrong, wrong. wrong.
AV will never endorse any of his staffers, PLEASE!
He keeps them around to make him look smart.
He's promised it to someone who LIVES in CD1, but the part that's in district 2 of LAUSD.
He ALSO ran for council, but showed poorly.

I heard the same thing, but he's an attorney from a large law firm who has never run for public office. I think he is or was close to Huizar.
Anonymous said:
Maria Lou Calanche does not have what it takes to help navigate the city.
She was involved with Alatorre Scandal, but chooses to keep that hush-hush.
She couldn't stand up against any of the candidates for Huizar's seat in a real debate.
It bother's me a a latina, that she chooses the name Lou instead of what her name may really be Maria Lourdes...
Calanche try again in about 10 years when you gain some real experience and really get you're feet wet!
Anonymous said:
Maria Calanche doesn't stand a chance.
She just doesn't have what it takes. I had her as a professor for Poli Sci, when I challenged her in class about the Davis Recall she was stumbling on her words. There's no way she'd make it in Huizar's seat.
