Majority of City Council endorse Jose Huizar
Mom always said that you can tell a lot about an individual by the friends they keep.
Question -- How do you measure someone that seemingly has no friends?
Thats the Nick Pacheco dilemma -- Earlier today at 2pm Jose Huizar received the support of a majority of the Los Angeles City Council.
These endorsements include - Alex Padilla, Wendy Greuel, Tony Cardenas, Tom La Bonge, Ed Reyes, Greig Smith and Councilman Jack Weiss.
The interesting little side note -- every one mentioned served in Council with Nick Pacheco. Where is the love? Where are the Council colleagues during Nick's time of need? Essentially representatives from the Valley, Eastside, Westside and Mid-City all reject Nick Pacheco's candidacy.
I think I can already predict the posts coming up.

Parke Skelton (aka Chief Parker) Make up your mind...first you are against Pacheco, then support him, then now you are biased and sound supportive of huizar by your opinions posted.
Just tell everyone the truth, the truth is that you are Parke Skelton spinning the news and you have no idea how people will react until you post this crap.

GOOD, I noticed you didn't try and count the votes Chief. Your version of number tallies SUCKS since you LIED about how many fake neighborhood watches ADV pretended to start in CD14 while he was stealing his VERY large CM salary for two years.
Here's a NEWS FLASH for you, Chief Faker... NONE of the councilmembers named GET TO VOTE in THIS ELECTION!
(If you think Huizar has low name recognition CD14, just try asking the average Jane who Wendy Gruel and Jack Weiss areand they'll tell you they were on the last SHUTTLE MISSION).
It's just among us CD14 rats, and stats show Pacheco has 5X the name recognition as little Huizy, even though they both served the are for the same number of years. Jose SURE didn't make much of an impression on the Eastside, even being Board president.
Now, why don't you be a good little Parke-stooge and go ask him how many of Pacheco's "alleged" ethical violations you keep referencing, without specifics, (Parke and Co. published 5-6 of them in the last CM race), he can actually PROVE (= ZERO).

Reyes has said several times AV let things go to hell in shared issues -- Southwest Museum, ICO, and on and on, and they Villaraigosa just rides in at the end to claim credit for fixes other people work out. What good is Huizar going to do you, Ed? He's the yokel let Taylor Yard get wawy as a school site, so you got THOUSANDS of kids in CD1 standing on top of each other in crowded far away high schools.
No way you drank to kool-aid, Reyes -- you're just hoping nobody sees you pretending to sip it.

POMONA - Every other day Miguel Dimas settles down at the bank of computers at the city's day labor center and writes home.
Dimas, 22, signs-on to read the latest news from his family in Morelia, Michoacan, Mexico. They tell him of the latest goings-on and occasionally send pictures.
The Pomona Economic Opportunity Center, also called the Pomona Day Labor Center, is more than a place for workers to land jobs. About 70 workers show up daily. Of those, about 40 find jobs every day.

What do all almost ALL those CM's have in common BESIDES working with Pacheco years ago and endorsing AV's little boy now?

They're ALL going to have to start their next campaigns for non-council gigs the week after next -- and a temporarily popular sitting mayor can do them more good than an ex-Council colleague, even though AV has NEVER ONCE delivered on a political promise since he jumped on the L.A. civic payroll.

the only endorsement that might make a difference would be Ed reyes , other than that good luck.
Jose Huizar is not running fro Mayor , he is running for CD 14 Council Member. So I don't think westside endorsemenrts will help him , I personally think it will hurt him.
Now JAn Perry's endorsement , which I don't think she will make one , myb opinion , because she has to work with the winner , especially on Downtown Issues.
It is going to be a hard race for Huizar .
The voters of CD14 are not dummies. They know that this is all mayoral politics and nothing to do with Jose Huizar's talents. Reyes has an agenda he needs the Mayor's support on - simple as that.
Are the council members that much afraid of the mayor, so are the thug rumors true. Does AV employ ex veterans to twist their arms?

Reyes (a little) and Garcetti are the only endorsements that matter in the area. They've both represented part of the district (more so Garcetti, who is still very popular in mt. washington and glassel (sp?)). I agree that these other endorsements don't mean shit. Only AV, Garcetti, Reyes, and perhaps Goldberg, if she swings that way this time. And who has the operation on the ground to help. I think Goldberg jumps on board and Garcetti is more likely to be with Huizar, a friend, than with Pacheco, who he was loyal to before, but which got him nowhere. We'll see.

Interesting that NOT ONE councilmember mentioned anything about Sleazy Huizy's accomplishments because he doesn't have any. Voters in CD14 don't care about outsiders. What a bunch of kiss ass losers these councilmembers turned out to be all because they are afraid of Antonio. We have no leadersip on council. Jose is associated with LAUSD and that's enough to make him lose. This election is being FIXED AND BOUGHT BY ANTONIO. Why doesn't the LA reporters do a story on that????????

I think only 2 of the councilmembers have even worked with Sleazy Huizy Jose. It just proves what butt kissers they are to Antonio. How do they sleep at night being so weak? Reyes should be ashamed of himself. I hear Little Jose is getting private lessons on how city council runs by Lameboy Padilla. Too late to do your homework Jose you should have known all along. Pacheco is going to tear you apart at the debates. Wonder if Jose will have to wear an earpiece to get the answers?

I heard the same thing, but he's an attorney from a large law firm who has never run for public office. I think he is or was close to Huizar.
Maria Lou Calanche does not have what it takes to help navigate the city.
She was involved with Alatorre Scandal, but chooses to keep that hush-hush.
She couldn't stand up against any of the candidates for Huizar's seat in a real debate.
It bother's me a a latina, that she chooses the name Lou instead of what her name may really be Maria Lourdes...
Calanche try again in about 10 years when you gain some real experience and really get you're feet wet!
Maria Calanche doesn't stand a chance.
She just doesn't have what it takes. I had her as a professor for Poli Sci, when I challenged her in class about the Davis Recall she was stumbling on her words. There's no way she'd make it in Huizar's seat.
