Free Advice for Cardenas
We all know how Tony C. loves the strip clubs. He can't seem to stop focusing on them. Well, NPR brings us a different approach:Morning Edition, August 8, 2005 ยท For the third time, Victor Bernace is running for New York City Council. Like most politicians, he needs to raise money, which can be hard when you've lost in the past. So Bernace is holding a fund-raiser that includes go-go dancers and scantily clad men. The theme is "Havana Night," in case anybody pays attention to the theme. Admission is $20. The city council candidate explains that he's "trying to be part of the next generation."

Tony needs a sense of humor, to begin with...
It is obvious Tony "LA is not ready for a latino mayor" Cardenas does not have good advisors. He is going to be irrelevant in the local scene once AP steps down from the council presidency to pursue a job in Sacramento. Word is that AP and his own staff are nervous about Tony's scheme to delay confirmation of AV's nominees to the Harbor and Airport commission. Not a smart move on his part. Watch for AV to make him pay if he carries that out.
It is the City of LA that will pay if Cardenas unduly delays confirmations.
The press will eat him alive, and he will sufffer tremendously, even more than he already has...
Cardenas should bring up the fact Sleezy Huizy ripped off the community when it comes to LAUSD.

Please don't forget Tony did not get around to endorsing AV until four days before the election. Pretty lame, huh.
The mayor's people are quite steamed about his latest shennanigan. Apparently, he felt that he should have been consulted about the commissioners before they were announced. They are not sure who the f**k he thinks he is. It is really hard to fathom what Cardenas is thinking, being an obstructionist to a popular mayor whose power is on a meteoric rise. He can not be getting this advice from AP or Acevedo. They are way too savvy for this.

what the FUCK are you THINKING??? AV is all show and no go as will be demonstrated soon with his 3 screw ups so far... Flip Flop on not appointing endorsers to commissions, the DWP wage issue he tried and failed to pawn off on Hahn and now his major Flip Flop Fucking of the Valley over Sunshine Canyon (which it looks like he will lose again tomorrow).

Don't give them that much credit. If Acevedo was that Savvy he wouldnt be dealing with the problems that he created while a Harbor Commissioner and Housing developments in the west valley. You do stupid stuff it will bite you in the ass in the end and all those that sworm around you.
If indeed Tony is cooking up such a harebrained notion, I agree with the previous anon that Alex could not be party to it. Alex is going to help move the mayor's agenda (don't foget he is soon going to be on a campaign mode for a state office). There is nothing in it for him to play games with the mayor's commission confirmation process.

So from what I gather from reading your post, AV is this vindictive? Wow, and I thought he was a different type of politician, is AV this vengeful if he does not get his way? Cardenas is a politician, he has his own views, so if he does approve or not of the nominees that is his thing, but AV should concentrate on being a politician and stop becoming a political mob thug. Tell me, how would he pay, should the CIA, FBI have AV under surveillance and to verify such claims.
This type of blog posts shows exactly what I said all along...put a Latino Mayor with Latino thugs as staff members and you will have a gang style administration. Just read the previously typed posts...they preach gang style tactics such as "pay back, watch for AV to make him pay, it is the City of LA that will pay, TC and AP will pay regardless, have no mercy on em AV..."
Gang style phrases that encourage uncivil behaviour.
In the Times story today, the mayor discusses the complications associated with revisiting the salary hike that was previously negotiated with DWP employees union. Tony shoots from the hip, "Technically speaking, I can see no reason why anybody would say the process is over. It is not" It is over and he knows it. I don't know who is advising Tony these days.

Why don't you park your bigoted ass to the side; no one is talking about killing with Tommyguns here; merely killing one's pet project. A councilman, for example, may seek a redevelopment zone in his or he district, aspire to build a district office or a library. Securing the mayor's endorsement goes a long way in such endeavors. That is the "pay-back" folks here are talking about.

I've worked with Cardenas and seen how he operates. Quite frankly, he's not the sharpest tool in the shed. He's manipulative, self-serving, and borderline racist. At least his wife is hot.
Also, Acevedo is a thug. If Rocky weren't such a slimeball himself I think Acevedo would be in deep shit. Padilla should get the hell away from both Tony C. and the Godfather while he's still young and still can.
I am a Villaraigosa supporter and I still support him. Villaraigosa has asked us to support Huizar, but I will not do that. I do not support Huizar and I have my own mind and decisions to make. I appreciate the mayor's input, but I have a brain and I know Huizar is not a good choice for the district. It is all politics, in the end who ever wins, the Mayor needs to use consensus and work with the winner, otherwise it will be bad for his image as a vindictive, vengeful politician and reinforces the idea that us Latinos are thugs and hypocrites that do not know how to run government.
I agree with the above statement...
Huizar has not earned the credibility to be the next councilman. NOT experienced, bad reputation, womanizer, silent bisexual, and fence sitter.
