The Dog Crap Comes Back
The ADL is bringing it directly to the Mayor with yet another offensive. Per the Daily Breeze:
An animal-rights group that repeatedly picketed the San Pedro home of Los Angeles Mayor James Hahn threatened Monday to launch a similar campaign against Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa unless he fires a top City Hall bureaucrat. The Animal Defense League of Los Angeles issued an ultimatum demanding that Villaraigosa remove Guerdon Stuckey from his post as general manager of the Animal Services Department by Oct. 1.
First they tried the direct approach on the day of the inauguration. They ended up sticking their finger in their own eye.
Then they started the 100 reasons to fire Stuckey E-mail campaign which fizzled out at 7.
So I guess they are going back to what they know. VANDALISM and INTIMIDATION. I can hear the calls to the LAPD already...

Can you believe to what extent these people are willing to go to get their message across?!:
Last week, the league sent a press release lauding the torching of a car owned by Butcher. Days earlier, the Animal Liberation Front sent out statements from league activist Jerry Vlasak saying that violence has its place in the animal-rights movement.
We've all had our fair share of organizations who would use violence to send a message, such as the Ku Klux Klan, the IRA, and Al Qaeda. They are all known as terrorists.
Is that what you are ADL? Are you a domestic terrorist organization set on using violence to spread your message?

ADL-LA Quote of the Week-"We are the pit bulls of animal protection; don't mess with us. We will win." -Ingrid Newkirk
David Diliberto Demo Wrap
A good time was had by all. . .with the possible exceptions of Diliberto and his neighbors!
We demonstrated in "Daddy" Diliberto's neighborhood (field commander of LA Animal Services) letting folks know that they live in the vicinity of a man who presides over the mass murder of 50,000 animals a year. He, along with General Manager Guerdon H. Stuckey, has done nothing--zip, zilch, zero, nada, niente, rien, gournisht--to implement needed progressive reforms inside our six City "Death Camps."
We've endeavored to dialogue with Diliberto at Commission meetings, but he has always been otherwise engaged--heavily preoccupied with hitting on the most attractive young women in attendance. When we sought to discourse with him at his home, he called the police and subsequently charged two activists with trespass. We have tried our damnedest to discuss the salient issues--and our words have consistently fallen on deaf ears.
ADL-LA protests constitute the last recourse--so, along came the trusty activists armed with their anger and a bull horn! They told the whole neighborhood what caliber of man Diliberto is. Now, we understand--all you dear, sensitive, compassionate, noble neighbors--how discomfiting it is to have your weekend so rudely disrupted by those whose consciences mandate action on behalf of defenseless animals! But, anyone who perpetrates (or supports) the unabated torture and murder of thousands of precious, sentient beings can only anticipate MORE PROTESTS!!!
We are persistent little buggers!!! We will be back again and again until you demand that your libidinous local lyncher resign and allow someone smart and caring to fill the position.
David's entire neighborhood was apprised of what a categorically conscienceless, corrupt, callous, curmudgeonly, and CRAPPY Commander he truly is! They at first couldn't comprehend why we were marching past THEIR homes, when Diliberto is the ostensible target of the demonstration.
We valiantly strove to explain that--thanks to the City's 100-foot stay-away ordinance--we can't approach David's residence and are, instead, forced to parade around the neighborhood. (Some activists new to the group wondered which house was his. With added security in the form of two big gunmetal gray cameras conspicuously protruding from either side of the roof, the home was easily identifiable.) The neighbors were furious that we were unable to restrict the raucous chanting to the parametric confines of Deadly Dave's particular dwelling. Well, that's our City for you, folks--drumming up and drafting unconstitutional legislation that protects the guilty and backfires on the innocent!!!
But, are the neighbors really so "innocent"? Anyone possessing even a shred--a modicum--of human decency should SYMPATHIZE and stand in SOLIDARITY with people fighting for the rights of animals! The residents had to "endure" an hour or so of protest; meanwhile, hapless animals languished in loneliness and terror at the LAAS "shelters"--awaiting that final trip to the "kill" room to face death.
Poor violated, beleaguered neighbors! OH WHAT A DILEMMA!
The police in front of Diliberto's house--and the cowardly hidden detective surreptitiously filming from the doorstep--succeeded in rendering the march an even BIGGER spectacle! We passed out hundreds of leaflets, although a few nasty neighbors tried intimidating an older woman walking her dog by getting in her face and telling her to throw away the leaflet that she took from us. . . she refused!!!
Another heartless neighbor turned on her sprinklers, seeking to soak us as we sauntered by. All it did was create a refreshing mist that cooled us off in the triple-digit August heat. That was actually quite considerate of her!!!
It certainly didn't dampen our spirits, as she had intended! Au contraire! In fact, things heated up when two male neighbors--big, burly, butt-ugly buffoons--started following us and making "sexual" threats and innuendos towards two female activists in their seventies peacefully holding a banner. Diliberto and his grungy neighborhood
goons sunk to a new low with this one--and we captured it all on video!
One of these incredible, elderly, lovely activist's hid Jews in her home during the Nazi invasion and has been a lifetime vegetarian and peace activist. When a fellow marcher inquired if she was disturbed by the two thugs threatening her, she remained undaunted: "Nothing they can say will deter me from coming out for these poor cats and dogs killed in the shelters; and, by the way, I'm not wearing my hearing aids--so I can't hear a darn thing they're saying!"
The other elderly activist did hear them--and was so traumatized that she began to shake. But when she was called later that night by concerned fellow activists, she stated that she's ready to come out to the next demo with a bevy of brave belles in tow: "I won't permit a few loathsome neighbors to dissuade me from fighting for those frightened, confused, and helpless little animals!"
Our band of activists marching throughout Diliberto's neighborhood is proud to be impelling the City--once and for all--to take seriously the plight of shelter animals.
Don't ever give IN or UP!!! We are all the animals have--and it is within our grasp to Stop The Killing in the hellhole that is LAAS!
Pictures of the protest are forthcoming on the Stop The Killing website, under the menu "Protests."
WE WILL NEVER BACK DOWN UNTIL YOU STOP THE KILLING!!!

ADL-LA wants to thank all of our "friends," like the one who wrote the below, who have the courage NOT to be silent about what goes on inside the city animal DEATH CAMPS!
We have undercover footage coming out showing empty cages at East Valley and other "shelters" filled with toilet paper, paper plates and other stuff for employees. So, don't let the LAAS lie to you about overcrowding! And it's not the amount of employees that counts, it's using them efficiently and productively. This under Stuckey is NOT being done; and because of this animals are being neglected and executed by the thousands.

Subject: my experience at the East Valley Shelter.....
Hi ADL-LA,
I am on the mailing list and was totally sickened when I read this email about the shep pup. What the hell is wrong with these people? I actually just adopted 1.5 y/o cat from the East Valley shelter this
past weekend. Anyway, she is absolutely the sweetest and most beautiful cat I've ever encountered; I couldn't be any happier. However, being aware of the neglect that goes on in these LAAS shelters I had to brace myself to even go into the shelter to get my girl.
I found it quite sick and demented that I would be allowed to "exchange" my cat for another within 7 days or so. I mean seriously are we talking about a damn t-shirt here, this is ridiculous. When you adopt a pet, in my opinion, it's like having a child, you have to be capable and willing to work with the animal and work out any difficulties that shall arise. In addition i witnessed a few incidences of neglect while at the East Valley Shelter picking out my baby.
In the area for dogs and pups one of the pups ( who was squeezed into a pen with about 6 others) urinated on the only vinyl bed allotted to the pups. I informed one of the asshole LAAS "workers" and he said "Someone will clean it up." Well, when I left the shelter about 2 hrs later the urine was still on the bed forcing the pups to lie on the cold concrete floor.
Next I made my way to the cat room. Now the cat room was filled with 95% kittens and being a regular visitor of the shelter I was just there a week prior to this past weekend and they only had a few kittens and mostly adult cats. So what happened to all these older cats???? Im SURE they all got adopted in one week....Anyway, I witnessed one of the kittens vomiting in its cage and informed the same LAAS "worker" and he did nothing. What the hell is wrong with these people?
They need to get more volunteers in there, other then the few that go in on Sundays, who truly love animals and that are there because they want to be not because there getting some ridiculous salary to be incompetent, negligent assholes. Pardon my French this visit really disturbed me.
Well the icing on the cake was a 6 month old baby cat who had spilled his water all over his newspaper in his cage. Once again after about an hour of the baby sitting in soaking wet, cold newspaper I couldn't take it anymore and cleaned the cage myself and put in additional liter, b/c as many of you know they're so friggin cheap they barely give the baby's any liter.
Anyway I just wanted to inform you guys of what I saw and this is just what occurred in a few hours at 1 "shelter" or prison I would rather refer to it as. I am sure you guys are well aware of these types of incidents but as a true animal lover these things REALLY disturbed me.
Thanks again and feel free to include this email in a chain letter to all the members of ADLA, if you would be so kind as to share my thoughts and experience of this hellhole in desperate need of change.

I cannot believe what I just heard. What kind of incompetence is there at these facilities! I get very
angry inside for these animals whom cannot even lash back out at their torturers.
What else can we do to get the message out. I can't stand hearing these things anymore. I want to make it clear that we will never stop the fight or back down! Animal killers beware!
*************************************************************************************************************************************************
Answer to the above e-mails and what YOU need to do ASAP:
The most salient and timely course that the humane community can follow at this juncture is to e-mail, call, fax and write Antonio Villaraigosa--and his animal-issues representative, Jim Bickhart--to politely but firmly demand Stuckey's IMMEDIATE replacement!
You can remind them of Villaraigosa's campaign pledge (way back in January) assuring the humane community that Guerdon Stuckey would no longer be General Manager of the six City animal shelters once Antonio took office as the new mayor.
Another memory prod might be in order to assist them in recalling that, during Stuckey's appointment process in November of '04, Antonio spoke of the many concerns he harbored with regard to Stuckey's competence and how--notwithstanding those caveats--he still voted in tandem with Mayor Hahn to grant Stuckey's position as General Manager of the Los Angeles Department of Animal (dis)Services.
When asked afterward by an insider why he didn't dissent and vote against Stuckey, AV stated that he had to "pick and choose" against which issues to contend--and this wasn't one he elected to oppose at the time.
Now that Hahn in gone, it is patently incumbent upon AV to replace Stuckey with someone conversant not only in humane organizations and rescue/foster, but also with the appropriate legal procedures for traversing the minefields of City beauracracy and Union 347 (whose primary mission is to keep "shelter" workers employed despite blatant incompetence and blaring histories of animal--and substance-- abuse on the job).
Stuckey's replacement ought also to be willing to embrace Nathan Winograd as a prime consultant to LAAS in its ostensibly-stated goals to become humane and NO KILL as soon as possible.
So, here is the contact info for Antonio Villaraigosa and Jim Bickhart. Call, write, fax and phone as often as you can! They need to hear from you repeatedly for it to SINK IN that animals are sentient beings of intrinsic worth and dignity who deserve rights! Unless you persistently "pester" them, they will put animal lives at the bottom of the pile--because animals can't vote. BUT WE CAN! And just as we did with ol' Hahn, LA's #1 Puppy Killer, we WILL hold Villaraigosa and Bickhart accountable for their actions--or inaction--on behalf of the animals with whom we share our City!
"I guarantee you, when I am the Mayor of the City of Los Angeles, Stuckey will not be the head of Animal Services."
"I'm going to hire my own head of the Department of Animal Services...It will not be Guerdon Stuckey, and that's as simple as that." -- Antonio R. Villaraigosa

"""On Monday, August 15th, the Mount Washington Homeowners Alliance will

vacant by the election of Antonio Villaraigosa as Mayor of Los

Carvin had been diligent and had always shown good judgment, Armstrong says. “If the city’s version was true,” he says, “and I emphasize if, then I would have been pissed off and disappointed. I would have wanted Dan to get out of the City Attorney’s Office if he felt uncomfortable. But I was like, are we talking about the same guy?” Yet Armstrong has deeper misgivings, he says, which he did not fully convey before retiring in 2003. The speed with which McCall and her outside attorneys closed ranks and communicated their displeasure to Chick’s office was startling, he says. “Carvin had information and was following up on it.

We need help in Granada Hills! Do you do anything that isn't animal related? We really could use some persistent, protesting little buggers carrying bullhorns to help protect us against the "Death Camp" we call Sunshine Canyon Dump.
Maybe you can get things done that we can't. It would appear we are too meek and mild, I think.
The owners and managers of the landfill are local lynchers too. Admittedly, they are not libidinous.
I NEED you to come and help us. At best, I'll have to steal some of your ideas. Did you really torch a car or spray paint someone's house?
Perhaps you could teach this old dog some new tricks.
