(LA)Observing What's Good for the Goose, Not the Gander
LA Voice is doing something interesting by allowing their readers to not only post comments, but multimedia attachments of whatever strikes their fancy. We look forward to seeing the results of the experiment.On the other hand, LA Observed remains a stale, old temple of self-aggrandizement for 1) Owner Kevin Roderick and 2) the brie and chablis set of West LA. No doubt, Kevin Roderick was right on top of bringing us the news of LA Voice's new idea and he made the following statement:
Mack Reed's website LAVoice.org already stood apart among local blogs as a place that welcomes disparate voices to have their say about whatever is on their minds.Its too bad this does not apply to LA Observed. As you know, they are the only local blog that does not allow comments to their posts (something which Kevin Roderick regularly participates in himself, even on this blog).

You guys have such a hard on for Roderick, it's ridiculous. Why don't you better focus your time and energy on redesigning this site? As of now, it's obvious you picked one of the templates on blogger.com and pasted in a picture of Yorty. That's pitiful for a blog as well-read as increasingly influential as the Sister City.

man- seriously. i obviously read your blog and i enjoy it - nice job. but everytime i see you trashing roderick, i just roll my eyes.
i'm not even going to make an argument whether you're right or wrong, but who cares?! people don't read your blog so that they can see some ego-driven infighting between blog writers.

Oh for Christ sake! We only go after Roderick a few times a month. How obsessed is he with Michael Kinsley, Sharon Tay and all the other people most of us don't care about?
We are just pointing out he is full of shit. He takes everyone else to task, including using whatever resources at his disposal to try and out our writers and sources. Then he acts all cool about it, when we know what he has done.
I thought it ironic is that here is a man who is praising (rightly so) another blog for allowing full reader expression, who as a reader of othe blogs does not hestitate to express himself, but denies that opportunity to readers of his blog.
Get a grip and go play on the freeway moron!

It would be less bush league if you got your facts right. Many LA blogs don't have comments.
Kevin, just because an article MENTIONS you, it doesn't mean its about you.
What other main blogs in LA do not allow comments? Boi From Troy, LA Voice, Martini Republic all allow comments as does Mayor Sam.
