Love Notes From Pacheco
Nick Pacheco states the following in his weekly e-letter:Congratulations
Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa!!
Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa!!
Our new Mayor should be congratulated not only for his successful campaign but for his inspirational inaugural speech. Antonio and I haven't always seen eye to eye, however, his call to "dream with me" gives us all an opportunity to move this City forward as one.
His focus on education was right on the money. No other institution has failed our children more than LAUSD. His emphasis on the high drop out rates and violence at our schools reminds us of how much work is ahead for all of us to improve our schools. I look forward to assisting Antonio in turning these failures around and invite you to join us in this quest.
Looks like one of the sides is willing to bury the hatchet, and take a subtle jab at the problem in the schools all in a short two paragraphs. Huizy can't be happy about this.

Ha Ha Ha -- a not so subtle jab. Insidious is the word to describe this candidacy.

If Pacheco wrote or said this, this man has class to think unselfishly by putting his community first. It is better to be productive and look at long term goals than keep grudges that serve no one but the weakness of our own human trait. This will benefit all, not just him, it will benefit politics.

Maybe the focus on the so-called rivalry between Nick and Antonio will change now. Maybe it's Antonio who is a sore winner. C'mon, mayor, accept Nick's olive branch.
Anonymous said:
Nick should just give it up, Antonio doesn't want a relationship with him.
Plus there are many of us who support Nick because we know he is an independent voice that will do the right thing.
Nick just focus on your campaign and don't worry about Antonio, he'll be busy with running the city.

I disagree with part of your post prev. anon. I agree with the fact that Nick should focus on his campaign, but it is to everyone's benefit for him to buil bridges with all important political figures in Los Angeles. It is more productive for the citizens this way, you never know when you might need support in the future for any particular issue.

I, too, want Nick to be an independent voice but I see a new maturity in Nick when he holds his hand out to the new mayor. But, Antonio, you were the winner. Let us see you be big enough and gracious enough to tell us CD14 voters that you will work with Nick when he returns to council.

He's kissin' a$$!

Nick Pacheco is a credit-claiming, do-nothing idiot. How anyone can get excited about his candicacy is beyond me.
Anonymous said:
I am excited. This means I can actually get my phone call returned from my council person. It is sad when this makes someone excited but try not getting your calls returned. When you finally get a call back, it is exciting.

That was hardly subtle. Nick's so-called olive branch should be seen for what it is: a shot directly at Huizar's candidacy. The fact is, the LAUSD is a mess and Huizar has some explaining to do.

Nick has always been able to take the high road. He cares about the community and knows that it would be more positive to try and work with Antonio. He's smart, savy and CD14 residents want him back. Nick knows city council and was head of one of the most powerful committees, Budget & Finance.

Yes, Nick is extremely artful at giving back-handed compliments.

Can anyone tell me what Nick has done for employment since leaving the council besides getting trounced in the District Attorney's race?

It's funny what one is willing to do to get elected.
The reason Nick is now so cordial with MAV is because MAV's popularity numbers in CD 14 are through the roof. He's hoping that even though he may not be able to ride on MAV's coattails, the meer association and appearamce of him making nice-nice with Antonio will be enough to get him the extra votes he needs to make it to round 2.
This will be a dog eat dog race and whoever can get to 7000 votes takes it.
Let's talk about their #2's - not their turds - but who is running their campaigns.
So far Robert is the man for Nick and Monica Garcia is for Huizar. Any others? Any background on these two?
Anonymous said:
Monica is a political novice who has done little to distinguish herself at the District. In most circles, Jose is seen as having the weakest staff. I guess Jose keeps her around because she's loyal. She also wants to run for Jose's school board seat (better enlarge the seat or call it a bleacher).
Robert seems ok, but again, not stellar. It's a race to the bottom.
Anonymous said:
What???? Monica wants to run for LAUSD after Jose?
Doesn't she live in Montebello? I saw her at the Quiet Cannon last week and she's going to have a heart attack if she thinks she can run two races. She best take a lesson from Lloyd M. and try get healthy the right way.

So you have a carpet bagger running one guy's campaign and a campaign lacky running the other.
What a great way to start a campaign! Let's see who can sink to the bottom faster with these two watching the store.

Same thing everyone else has done for employment, even you. Type, type, sit, type, sit, read, read, read, laugh, cry, get angry, type, type, eat, type.

Hey anon,
My compadre told me Jennie Carreon was pushing to run Huizars campaign and she is able to deliver, so I do not know who this Monica is.
Anonymous said:
If Ace and Parke were able to deliver for AV, then it will be a piece of cake for these two.
Anonymous said:
2:43 anon. Monica was a very able chief of staff for Jose and Robert is a sharp, decent guy. What's your problem? If you want to run a campaign, that's what it sounds like, apply for a job. Let's see if anybody wants you...

4:53 PM Anon: I have to tell you that is the first time I have heard capable and Monica Garcia used in the same sentence.

Jose needs to have his women staffers take classes in style, demeanor, political correctness, hair, makeup, dress, etc. etc. It amazes me how these women dress when representing an elected. Don't they look in the mirror? After they leave a community meeting they are torned apart.
Robert is classy, smart and CD14 love him. Remember when Nick was in office Robert was one of the best field staffers. He truly cared about the constituents and I've never heard one complaint about him even from Antonio people. Antonio's numbers aren't as high as poster is saying. He left with a lot of angry residents and if he endorses Jose they feel it will be the same.

Nick is slime. Face the facts. He's going to get killed in this council race and hopefully it will end his pathetic career.

Who signed the letter of recommendation for Vignali?
I guess if Nick is slime then Villaraigosa/Huizar are the satanists of our society.
Anonymous said:
Is Ace Smith working on Huizar's campaign? I hadn't heard that.
Anonymous said:
Don't get pissy, Nick.
Anonymous said:
Nick was a lousy councilman and isn't worth Antonio's time. There is no Antonio/Nick grudge. Only what Nick is trying to create and use for his "campaign". He's had his chance at council and was turned out decidedly. I know that my neighbors and I are definitely not voting for him.

Calm down Parke (the so called scandanavian wannabe freeway hippie/commie freak chief)

Oh Yes, you forgot one thing...you live outside the district in the rolling hills of Pasadena.

Nick, you know as well as everyone else the reason why you wrote that memo. You thought that if you wrote that memo you could claim credit for those projects and no one else could. That is the truth. Come on Nick, catch a clue. You took credit for work done on Alatorre’s existing projects so why shouldn’t anyone take credit for work your staff had worked on...work in progress. It’s the same thing. There is no olive branch. You are so self-serving. You are making a feeble attempt to copy some of the new Mayor’s moves but the problem is that you don’t get it. You have no substance. You are too late. You should have extended the olive branch when you won the first time. If you had, you might not have found yourself in the position you are in right now.
Anon 2:39pm July 8…..oh why waste time here…..Nick, we know it is you that wrote that post. You are the only person we know that is so obsessed with size. I think we made it very clear not to mention Lloyd’s name again. Obviously, you didn’t learn a damn thing from Lloyd. Lloyd delivered many lessons but obviously you didn’t get it….as usual. Anyone who really knew Lloyd and got to work with him would not speak negatively about him. Why do you do this Nick? How do you sleep at night Nick?
