Bloggy News

Some things going on right now in the blogosphere...

For a time on KCOP television in Los Angeles, I hosted a television show and had hired an impressive young man to serve as my sidekick. A few years later, he became nearly a household word. You might remember him, his name was Wally George.

As I did, Wally left the material world a few years back, but he's rejoined me over on our other blog, Sam Yorty's America. Expect Wally to begin posting shortly.

We're ready to once again take on the tinhorns of the world! Welcome, Wally!

On the northern end of the left coast, former California Governor, current Oakland Mayor and soon to be 2006 candidate for the Democratic nomination for State Attorney General - Jerry Brown - is now blogging. Catch Jerry's blog here.

Oh and yes, it really is Jerry blogging over there.

Growing up in the OC, I used to watch Wally George practically every night on KDOC 56. In retrospect, his show was absolutely awful. But at the time, as a young, impressionable kid, I ate it up. He rotated the same dozen or so guests, let them get in a couple of sentences, and as soon as they started to say something worthwhile, he would STAND UP and scream, "You're outta here!" Twenty years later, Bill O'Reilly and Sean Hannity are doing the same damn thing, except rather than bringing on strippers and satan worshippers they try to fool the viewer in to thinking their shows are real news. Wally, you were way ahead of your time.
