Some of you people make this old Mayor sick
Sometime today or perhaps yesterday, someone set up a blog as an alternative to Mayor Sam. Fair enough.Their feeling was that because I've taken a hard line on cutting & pasting, as well as deleting messages that go too far over the top delving into folks personal lives, that I practice censorship. Fair enough. This is a private operation, we can do that. They planned to offer a blog where anyone could say anything (of course within the realms of Blogger's rules I would imagine).
In their few short hours of life, there was a lot of cutting and pasting going on and even some personal attacks on the Mayor - not unlike the attacks we have seen on here on Tony Villar - that had they been posted here, they would have been deleted.
In just checking out the new blog, I see the owner has already decided to shut it down because they have received threats. That is unfortunate. Its the same damn thing that shut down the Fourth Floor Blog, which was a tragedy.
Since Fourth Floor went down, only this blog has been able to catch on where others didnt't. We intend to go on, whether its Mayor Villar, Mayor Poopy, or whatever. We will remain the rough and tumble for LA, and yes, if you go to far to make the blog non enjoyable (yes, in my opinion but I own the damn thing) I will tweak things and may just delete your post. But you can always come back.
Oh by the way - even though I own this damn blog - I don't live here. So sometimes I may miss some bullshit postings that I would have deleted had I seen. I don't always read every post. So if you see something really offending and are pissed off I haven't checked it out, you can always email me.
Now, go play on the freeway and keep blogging away dum dums.

Do Hahn's new TV ad is up. It's pretty low, even for him. Basically its "Villaraigosa, friend of people who kill children."
I just went to that other site and it is still running.
So GOD forbid, ADV wins... CD 14 gets to have a "special" election - probably early next year, and then in another 12-15 months or so the next REGULAR council election (probably primary AND general, since there would be no real incumbent to do a cakewalk).
Those poor SOB's will have been the most tromped over battlefield in the city for FIVE municipal elections over as period of SIX years -- 3 CM races, two VERY nasty mayorals involving a Homie. (Just call them "Poland").
No wonder they're blogging their little fingers to the bone trying to turn ADV back. Expensive, dirty, bitter, scum-slinging in the streets for more than half the elapsed time, from 2001-2007. (To say nothing of a state recall, a LONG presidential), DAMN! Take your hat off for this little piece of purgatory, bloggers -- no matter who you support.
No wonder there aren't as many lawn signs up this time. The damn grass needs a REST (and so do the people).

Just saw Hahn's new ad. Smart move to use the victim's mom as the spokesperson to point out that Villaraigosa was the only vote against increasing penalties for child abusers who kill the kid.
It is going to be tough for AV to attack the mother. Let's see what they come up with.

Ah, hell, easy as PIE. ADV's hacksters already got files full of dirt on EVERY mommy (or daddy, or other "whiner") that can get in the way of his next gig. Won't bat an eye about doing it (actually, having OTHER people do it behind the scenes).

A few facts about Hahn's ad:
1)The bill in question (AB 2258 - 1996) would have applied to almost nobody. The Dept of Corrections said in the bill analysis that exactly ZERO people were convicted under the statute this bill amended in 1995 (the year before the vote. Why? because people who intentionally kill children are prosecuted for murder (not for child abuse).
2) The boyfriend of Jaeger who killed the child in a drunken stupor was prosecuted and convicted for 2nd degree murder. He was sentenced to 15 to life.
3) The Jaeger bill was flawed. It erased the distinction between intentional child abuse resulting in a death and unintentional. According to the bill's analysis:
“This bill may punish the killing of a child by someone having the care and custody of that child more severely than if that child were intentionally killed by a stranger.”
So the idiot Dad who accidentially leaves his child locked in a car resulting in an accidental death would have received a longer sentence than a stranger who commits a willful 2nd degree murder.
4) All told, 27 state legislators either voted NO or abstained (which is the same as a No vote) on AB2258.
5) Villaraigosa voted, just eight days later, for another bill by Republican Kaloogian (a bill the ACLU opposed by the way) which increased penalties for second degree murder from 15 to life to 25 to life AND eliminated parole possibilitiews for all 1st degree murderers. This was a tough bill which would have put away the killer of Tyler Jaeger for 25 to life. That bill, according to the CDC would have effected 701 2nd degree murderers and 510 1st degree murderers in 1995 (as opposed to the ZERO criminals that AB2258 would have impacted.)
You can take one vote out of thousands and slime anyone. Hahn just did.
If Antonio was so screwed up by his father beating his mother then why in the hell hasn't he done ANYTHING about domestic violence in this city? He loves to play the victim, poor me. Oh no watch Antonio jump on that one. City Council today was pathetic. Weiss, Parks, Ludlow, Antonio were all out on our tax dollars campaigning. Little Samantha Runnion who was brutalized, raped and tortured then killed was only 5 years old. It shows Antonio has a cold blooded idiot who supports criminals. Good for Hahn to let the voters know.
ADV lover spin all you want. Linda Breakballs reported tonight that all the prosecutors wanted the first bill passed. ANTONIO WAS THE ONLY VOTE NO. How sad that this mother's 22 month old was Killed and now Antonio and his gangster flacks are going to investigate her and discredit her. What an asshole but this is the Antonio way. He has a gangster mentality and has threatened more people in his own district that if they come out to support Hahn they will lose their non profit funding, he will get them, and they will never be able to work in the community. Why you edit posts on "affairs" is entirely beyond me. Maybe you could answer why. Don't get me wrong - I don't think it is news if someone has sex. I don't think cheating on a spouse necessarily affects job performance.
BUT - don't you think one politician sleeping with the staffer of another is news? Don't you think it may affect that staffer's retention and salary? Don't the taxpayers pay those salaries? Wouldn't the relationship sometimes affect endorsements? Isn't all of this news?
Should Antonio win, my block will welcome Nick Pachecco back with open arms. He got a raw deal with all those bs allegations in '03. He was a good guy and a good Councilman.
If a politician is having an affair with a staffer, it should be of interest. The politicians entire career is public, ethically we hold him/her to higher standards since they show by example, otherwise they should not be politicians. Some of individuals cannot cut it in this field of work, as you have for example Villaraigosa. I want to know if he is having an affair, then, do I trust him? No.
That Anon poster wrote a letter to the Attorney General regarding Barrio Planners and Southwest Voter Registration has stated it again that there were several people who wrote a letter. For those that know the process, what happens next.

The AG's pffoce will route that letter to the district director. Then a deputy AG will start an initial inquiry. Usually, if the accused is hesitant about releasing information or does not permit employees to be interviewed, the case gets put on an excelarated pace. The warrants, subpoenas and searches would commence. If the accused is a willing participant, the investigation might take a little longer but improprieties will be more easily uncovered. Once all these investigations are done with, then the deputy AG's along with the FBI begin to put a case together. It can go directly to court after indcitments are filed or, if the illicit activity is really widespread, the case will be directed to a grand jury.
The AG needs to act on all credible tips even moreso now after the FBI bungled some 9/11 tips.
Don't forget to send a written tip to the Public Integrity Unit of the Los Angeles County District Attorney. Cooley would pass this up to the AG and this might expedite the investigation.
Everything considered, you're looking at about six months to a year. Right in time for Gloria Molina's re-election campaign in 2006. Of course, if somebody sings your looking at 3 to 4 months.

Parke has always used the most blatantly negative of Latino steroetypes to market Tony. Single mother household, poverty, drunk abusive father, high school drop out, white man to the rescue. etc.,. Parke does this because he can't really market Tony's accomplishments and definitely not his smarts. The first flyer to come out in 2001 was the "My father was an alcoholic" piece, because, you know, all Latino fathers are alcoholics. This has been Tony's passport to the liberal westside jews.
But does anyone really know much about Tony's father. After Antonio Villar Sr. and Natalia - Tony's mother- dissolved their obviously ill conceived marriage, they went their separate ways. Natalia re-married to a Mr. Delgado and even had a child from him -Tony's half brother whose father in law owns the Rusnak car dealership empire in Pasadena.
Antonio Sr. also went on with his life. He re-married and fathered four more children who all went on to get their college degrees and they all became succesful professionals in their own right. They all grew up in La Puente were Antonio Sr. dutifully provided a home and a nice middle class upbringing - not bad for an alcoholic. What really irks Tony Jr. is that Antonio Sr. totally removed himself from his prior life - to the extent that he named his oldest son from his second marriage Antonio Villar Jr.. So now you know why Tony has such a chip on his shoulder. In all fairness, I guess it what be heartbreaking to have your father replace you with another son - name and all - he even looks like Tony and has the same charisma and Type A personality. And for all of Tony's distaste for his biological father, didn't he end up just like him - after all, Tony has left four families he started in his life time. So Tony did in fact out do his father who only left one family.
Why hasn't Antonio come to the East Los Angeles area? There are some supporters that want to see him, forget about the antivillariagosa people, show up and unite with those that support you.

A previous poster - who I took as being overwrought at first - actually nailed it. Villaraigosa's apologists here have already begun attacking the credibility of the mother in Hahn's ad, saying the bill was useless and she MUST be lying (because we all know from recent experience in the city that Tony V. always tells the truth.
This isn't flip-a-coin people. Hahn's ads hava nailed the challenger's Achilles heal (sic); he can't be trusted. He won't take responsibility for his own failings, and he will assassinate the messenger of any challenges his lack of honesty.

L.A. can do so much better. Hahn is somewhat better, the next mayor in four years can be miles ahead of either one.

I agree poster that sexual affairs are definitely newsworthy. Look at how it affected Clinton. Baca's deputies are pissed at him. They are saying he had no right to use them in his endorsement. Like LAPD these law enforcements officers are against everything Antonio stands for. They want to put the bad guys away and Antonio supports them. Antonio plays the victim. The media should go talk to his father. We want the real story.

Media should go after that and find out when he knew and that he did absolutely nothing cause Antonio promised Jose the CD14 seat. Word is Jose will never ever get that seat. He's burned himself.
