Holden Endorses Hahn

Today the Hahn campaign are rolling out Nate Holden as an endorsement of Jim Hahn.

A powerful pillar in the African American community Nate has served this City well. A former state legislator and City Councilman Nate can revive the Hahn campaign's lackluster outreach to South Los Angeles.

Ironically enough Rick Orlov in this article points out that Holden was at the Bernson press conference getting his car fixed, but Rick wasn't having any of that tripe.

Nate who was close to Kenny is making sure the son of Kenny is taken care of since Kenny is no longer around, Nate is protecting and guiding the man he knew as a boy.

My only question to Nate is this, what did Tom Bradley really tell you on his death bed?

How ironic this is. Nate Holden endorses Hahn. I guess Hahn found a new crop of hookers for him or something. Or maybe some sort of patronage job. But I'm sure this will have all you Villaraigosa haters crowing. Nate Holden, the pillar of morality, government ethics, and government competence in Los Angeles, has come out for Jimmy Hahn.

Of course, he's just really popular too and will sway most Los Angeles voters against Villaraigosa. I guess this is why in his own council district, his inept cheif of staff, Deron, was soundly defeated in the 2003 Council Race by Villaraigosa's former cheif of staff, Martin Ludlow. And why Holden got his ass beaten in the 2004 Assembly Primary by UCLA Professor and good government activist, Karen Bass. Karen Bass ironically supports Villaraigosa.

Geez, no rabid anti-Holden spin? ADV's people must be stunned.

Any truth to the rumor they're trying to get Johnny Cochrane's widow to endorse Villaraigosa during the funeral service -- as an offset?

Why in the NAME of SAM HILL, would ANY ADV-lover attack some OTHER politician over PERSONAL MORALITY???

Line up those words, somehow in your brain. ADV, and "personal morality" should not be discussed together. Oil and water; snakes and mongooses; cowboys and Indians (without a museum); East and West.

Save some embarrassment. Not compatible trains of thought.

Stick to spinning "vision" and "charisma" and let other pols (almost ANY other), discuss PERSONAL MORALITY.

IS THIS BAIT, or what?

So much for Villarigosa riding through the streets of South L.A. on a white horse as the new savior of African Americans.

Regardless of what you Antonio lovers think of Holden you gotta admit he's a pillar in the Black Community and has a lot of clout whether you like it or not. He's was on council for years and is loved by his "black community." Gee, if Bitter Bernie comes out tomorrow for Antonio who do you think blacks think more of for doing more for their communities? Can we say NATE HOLDEN

C'mon, I'm a Hahn supporter, but crowing about a Holden endorsement? Holden is far from a pillar in the black community or any community. Nate is and was an inept councilmember.

His endorsement is worth about as much a field deputy's endorsement. Who cares?

Listen you have pms'ing Maxine Waters, Bitter Bernie and those Rev.s who threatened to burn down the city and you have Nate Holden. Holden has way more clout then Bitter Bernie and out of control, emotional Maxine Waters. I'm sure Antonio is on the phone right now trying to get Jesse Jackson to come and endorse him

Cynthia Telles will divorce Huggy if he endorsed Antonio. Reliable sources have said Huggy is staying Neutral.

Endorsing ADV is practically the same as staying neutral. It's not like his topping-out-at-45%, hyper-liberal hiney is ever going to sit in the mayor's chair in Los Angeles. And after Hahn beats that hiney, AGAIN, and embarrasses him even more (and puts his Leninist/Marxist campaign consultants out of L.A.'s political business, for good), Hahn is a lame duck, so an endorsement for ADV isn't gonna do anybody any harm for too long.

MEAT Antonio has absolutely no class and obviously doesn't know protocol. Will you please look it up for him. The Mayor should always be first. Antonio hasn't earned that right. People have been talking about how disrespectful he's been agressively pushing his way to walk right in front of the Mayor. It's like JOhn Kerry rushing forwar and walking into the same room side by side with Bush. But then again we're talking Antonio who wasn't brought up with manners.

March 31, 2005 3:27 PM

Anonymous Anonymous said:

Respect must be earned. In the debate, Antonio never called him "Jimmy"; it was always "Mr. Hahn" or "Mayor".

Jimmy called him "Antonio" and showed no respect for him or his office. It is Jimmy who lacks the class to lead a great city.

Cynthia Telles divorce Hertzberg? He should be so lucky. She is the main source of his misery, and created and keeps alive the rift between him and the next Mayor.

You aren't implying that Hertzberg is pussy-whipped, are you?

Heavens to Betsy. I do declare.

Typical, ADV-lovers disrespect strong women -- especially Latinas. If their husbands respect their opinions, they're PWed.

If ADV had been a little more PWed over the years he might not have quite so much political baggage today -- that keeps surfacing...
