Hahn Shoots His Mouth Off
Upon the heels of LA District Attorney Steve Cooley deciding not to prosecute a police officer who beat a suspect with a flashlight, Mayor James Hahn has decided to shoot his mouth off causing all kinds of potential problems for the city. Gathering up as many Black activists as he could find, the Mayor grabbed a microphone and issued this response:
"Let me be clear: I do not agree with that," Hahn said. "I saw what I saw."However, the District Attorney's office made it real clear that the facts of the investigation do not support filing criminal charges against the officer.
"We rejected the case against Officer John Hatfield because there is insufficient evidence to prove that the force used by him was without lawful necessity," said Deputy Dist. Atty. Margo Baxter in her evaluation of the incident. She said the video "doesn't tell the whole story."Another Deputy DA went on to say:
"The amount of force used was minimal and reasonable under the circumstances," said R. Dan Murphy, lead prosecutor in the D.A.'s Justice System Integrity Division, which investigates police misconduct.Hahn, clearly hoping to regain some of his daddy's African American support that he lost by firing Chief Parks is jumping too fast. He should let the DA do his job and accept their findings. This is isn't Daryl Gates' LAPD any longer and plenty of safeguards exist to prevent police misconduct. Hatfield didn't just grab some kid off the street and beat him, this was a police pursuit of a convicted criminal who failed to surrender.
Of course the elephant in the room is if the suspect were not Black, would Hahn even be opening his mouth?
Clearly, there will be a civil lawsuit against the city, which the City Attorney will definitely settle. Hanh's remarks will for sure increase the city's exposure and up the amount of the dollar figure this crook and his crooked attorneys will get, surely money that could go to more police officers, more programs for kids, potholes, etc.
This could peel a few votes from Bitter Bernie for Mayor Poopy, but I've got to believe the PPL isn't going to be happy with the Poopster. What a reckless soul he is.
More diarrhea of the mouth from our friend, Jim Hahn. The sooner this guy goes, the better.
UPDATE: The Daily News issues an editorial that pretty much agrees with our conclusion. Thanks for costing us more money Hahn!

Sorry Julie, no. If the mayor had kept his mouth shut, we would have not even caught this story and would have surely found something else to bash him on.
Yes, we're honest, we want a new Mayor.
I know that messes with your career plans Julie, but I can't help it if you hooked your dream to a loser.
Why would you think that Julie or the other campaign managers for that matter would read this blog? No one takes this seriously-just a bunch of bitter old queens....

It looks like you clearly have a personal issue with Julie. Maybe a little jealous?
L.A. mayors are bashed for not coming out strong enough or remaining silent on racially charged police incidents one year/administration - even accused of "covering" for the cops; then bashed for coming out too strong the next time around - accused of "bashing" the police. At least be consistent in your criticisms, folks, your partisan-slips are showing.
Here are the problems with Hahn's comments:
1. It undermines the work of the District Attorney's office.
2. As a former prosecutor, he knows or should know what goes into investigations and how much infomration he doesn't have....to be able to make a statement.
3. He is pandering to the African community and that is an insult to an already abused community that deserves better.
4. He, as an attorney, knowing that there has already been a 25 million dollar civil lawsuit filed against the City, with his stupid comments, has created and or stubstantiated more liability for the City and has exposed himself to being subpoenaed and testifying against the very city he represents as the Mayor.
5. These type of stupid, baseless, meritless comments do nothing but further demoralize a police department already short on officers and completely contradicts his claim of support for Bratton and the police union.
He is thoughtless and now creating both civil and other liability to the City of Los Angeles. Any doubt now as to why he is an awful Mayor (or better yet mayhore) and should be replaced.
Jimmy, YOUR DAD would think of you as an embarrassment, not a leader. Your mom has already jokingly(maybe)suggested she might not vote for you. Your sister, who supports you publicly, cannot believe why you do the things you do.......and you just stare blankly ahead. No wonder the City is so screwed up !!!!!
Mayor Sam I appreciate your take on the officer's side. All to often people jump all over officer's butt for the wrong reason. This was a felony suspect who evaded arrest. They didn't hit him on the head and he had minimal injuries. I think Hahn was trying to convey that although he saw what we saw he said "BUT I'M NOT THE D.A. That saved his butt. You better believe if he didn't say a thing the BLACK community wld have been all over him. He did say that he has confidence Chief Bratton would make the right decision. At least he wasn't over there on the weekend like the last time kissing their asses and not supporting the officers.

One thing is conspicuously absent from all media reports that Jimmy was at a press conference and introduced “my good friend” from “the Nation of Islam”….
Is there something wrong with this picture? An organization that preaches hate, violence against Whites and Jews on a consistent basis is being introduced as “good friends” by the City of LA Mayor. To what level will we sink for a couple of votes?
It is outrageous that Hahn has aligned himself with racist demagogues. And the Police Union endorsed this loser? If AV were to pull something like this, rest assured that Cerrick, McLoser and all “The Mayor’s Men” (I personally feel that deep deep down Julie is a man) would run race-baiting commercials again him like during the last election cycle.
Is the L.A. media so afraid of this administration that it will not report real news?
Or are JH’s lunches with the L.A.T. editors clouding their judgment?
JH’s days are numbered in political power. Watch for a Smelly Shelly repeat. How about a new slogan for JH? Can Hahn (As in dump him)!
Hahn has allied himself with the Nation of Islam? That's usually what in trouble, last gasp celebrities like Michael Jackson and Mike Tyson have done.
Amazing how you guys try and spin here. Hahn was right next to Sweet Alice Harris. A black community activist who has done major community work in the South. Hahn was intro'ding people who were in attendance. You sure don't mention that Prez David Cunningham of police commission was also right next to him and the Rev Mack.
