Rumor Mill
Please comment on and add to the following rumors buzzing around the Sister City these days:
- A potential Alarcon withdrawl?
- An alleged 81% approval rating poll for Antonio Villaraigosa?
- Alleged, rumoured pending indictments of Dowie and McOskar?
- That MEAT is Jessica Garrison?
- That no one gives a shit about Bill Wyatt and Walter Moore? (Well that's not a rumour, actually its the truth, sorry.)

An alleged 81% approval rating poll for Antonio Villaraigosa?
Big time smoke and mirrors, and an even bigger misfire by Meat, folks who oughta know said last night. This was apparently a very internal, general survey of how residents all over feel about how various city services are supplied. The numbers were relatively high all over and only divided by district for reference. If anything, it may reflect more on the new-ish 311 number service put in by Hahn and his appointees who oversee the service departments, not District 14's councilmember and staff or anyone else's really.
Like some past blog headings, this seems like a case of Villar. taking credit for something unrelated to his performance, again, one said; this time actually something the incumbent administration probably contributed to more than he did.

My comments: 1)Alarcon will withdraw, actually will be withdrawn by the voters, in March. 2) Pollster Mark Mellman has a dyslexic working for him and instead of 81% favorable for Antonio it should have been 18%, 3)McOskar and Dowie will not be only indicted but will also get the death penalty, 4) MEAT isn't Jessica Garrison but he does write all her articles and those of Noam Levey, too. 4) Yes, no one gives a shit about those two buffoons - Antonio Villaraigosa and Bob Hertzberg!

Alarcon should definitely pull out since no one knows he's even in the race anymore. Bitter Bernie should also step aside quietly since he has a name with no money. I do appreciate his take on the DA decision yesterday. CD14 constituents should take their own poll and I guarantee MEAT they will not be anywhere near the approval rating posted here. Padilla should start being a leader and put a damn time limit on those presentations in council on Fridays. Antonio should stop stealing other people's ideas and work for his district like he's paid to. Did anyone give him a glass of water while he was on the Westside yesterday?

Antonio has a 38% favorable rating in CD14. It's a secret poll so please don't tell anybody.

Jessica Garrison as MEAT? That has to be one of the most absurd suggestions ever made on this page. If any of you know anything about the Times office there is no way she could post to this blog using her work computer without people being able to see since her computer screen faces the door. Secondly, I highly doubt that Jessica would be willing to risk her job and reputation to express her thoughts on Mayor Sam. Can’t we come up with a more interesting – and more realistic – rumor than this?
Anonymous said:
Oh, is this suppose to be serious?
Anonymous said:
In view of the post castigating us all I would like to change my comment and be serious for a moment. MEAT doesn't write Jessica Garrison's articles. Jessica manages to come up with her puff pieces on Antonio all on her own.

Villaraigosa has an 81 percent approval rating at the L.A. Times, but that's about as far East as his approval goes these days.
Anonymous said:
Alarcon has no reason to pull out at this point. It's nearing the home stretch, and he has as much to gain from the late hits on Hahn as anyone, maybe more.
Anonymous said:
Parks is closer to pulling out at this point than Alarcon. Friends and contacts he shares with Villaraigosa are pushing him to bail and clear the pathway a bit more, in view of their shared distaste for the mayor.
Anonymous said:
Bitter Bernie's base is also narrower than either Alarcon or Hertzberg's, and not likely to grow in a crowded race.
Anonymous said:
Contrary to how local media may want to portray it, if the ex-chief bails first, it helps Hahn more than anyone else.
Anonymous said:
I heard Mayor Hahn was sorry he ever became Mayor and would rather have a 9 to 5 job so he can spend time with his two kids. Not such a bad idea maybe he should withdraw. I am sure his girlfriend would be happy, no on second thought she likes his power.

It obvious someone is getting paid off at the LA Times or they have the hots for Tony cause they don't know any better. Definitely the Daily News is also either being paid off or doesn't know the difference between fair and balanced and National Enquirer tabloid journalism. Bitter Bernie should be a man and bow out gracefully instead of being stubborn like when he was Chief. Alarcon also needs to bow out now. Meat needs to get a life. He/She says their not on ADV payroll, not on campaign, etc. then who in their right mind would spend so much damn time spinning on this blog and criticizing all of us for posting our opinions. He/she comes off as a know it all. Its maybe Parke or Ace for sure. Interesting they never mentioned that Chick lowlife memo she gave behind closed doors last weekend to candidates. Sneaky sneaky shit

Used cars? I thought his plan was about more trains; we sure as hell don't need more cars on the road - used or otherwise.

Wow, some of this stuff resembles the trashy smear campaign of the CD14 race. You remember, the one where the other side jumped onto Antonio's kids and family.
Wonder if there are some disgruntled Pacheco staffers out there who just can't let it go? What do you think JUNE or SacramentoNighties?
Anonymous said:
Now, THERE's an idea Villaraigosa and council staff should steal. Good contituent service.
Anonymous said:
I'm with you Sacramento. ADV's staffers want to believe that people who aren't supporting ADV are either past council staffers or the other mayoral candidate people. NO NO NO WE ARE CONSTITUENTS CD14 WHO ARE DISAPPOINTED IN OUR COUNCILMEMBER. With the previous councilmember I remember calling directly to Lloyd and having my call returned and service provided that same day. I remember the days when I called the council office and a field staffer would arrive at my door to ask how they could help. I remember feeling appreciated when I attended a community event or meeting by the council staff standing at the door and greeting everyone warmly. Those were the good old days.
Anonymous said:
Pacheco had a great field deputy for Mt. Washington. Can't remember her name. And he would take and return calls personally.
Anonymous said:
Ditto, the council service comments. Before Tony V., I sent e-mails directly to the last councilman while city council meetings were going on and he was in the chamber, on 2-3 occasions, expecting him to forward it to staff, or maybe reply days later, and I got personal replies at the break- once within the hour from him with directions on what to do or who to contcat to get something corrected right away.
And believe me, I am nobody. I don't think he could have picked me out of a police lineup. Now, an e-mail to Villaraigosa's address gets you a canned reply that includes this comment: ...'response is not immediate and may not properly serve your needs...' (exactly). Then it lists phone numbers at the office to call (good luck there).
Boy, and how!

Back on rumor mill topics. If the indictments people keep mentioning for the FH people do finally come down, seems like that could take a little heat off Hahn's campaign. If the contractors are bad enough to indict, then the city government starts to be viewed as the victim, not the criminal. Everyone understands being taken by thieves and con artists, mayor and GMs would seem no different. Who better to con you into believing bogus bills than spin-doctors?
Anonymous said:
Wyatt and Moore will get just enough votes from the one-third registered Republicans who can't hold their nose to vote for a dem to take 6-10 points away from other challengers. This is always the case in crowded primaries with a relatively popular incumbent. None of the current major challengers can fake being GOP-like this time -- maybe Hertzberg if any.
Anonymous said:
Indictments. What indictments? if there are none next week, forget it. It's been a huge con job manufactured by Chick and Villaraigosa...and one other nameless person.

Well well. On LA Observed it states that sneaky Laura Chick is now releasing the infamous memo she gave the 4 mayoral candidates behind closed doors last week. HMMMMMMM wonder what made her change her mind? Wonder if Rocky had anything to do with the pressure?

City Hall romance? Hmm..what about a certain pollster and a certain council woman? or how a certain councilman brought a date on an international trip and spent the whole time in their hotel room, which reduced one of his staffers to tears?

Hey Deane! Are you Mayor Sam or Chief Parker? I already figured out that Mike is Meat and Scott is Boi. Love, Bonny Herman
Anonymous said:
Here you go from today's Daily Breeze. I'm sure these were old ADV supporters..........quote "A poll by LA Times on Hahn vs Villaraigosa....At the same time, the survey held positive news for Hahn. His popularity among Latinos has risen, his political base is geographically diverse, and he scores well on the economy

I think your on too something Bonny. I would have never guessed, but it makes sense to me. The others I knew long ago.

FROM MEAT:
Sorry not Jessica Garrison, but i do think she's cool. I live in los feliz and jessica lives close to the eastside.
Plus i am a male. As for Bonny Hermans guess -- i have a cousin by that first name. Sorry not my first name.
blog away - good guesses

Really Meat, why would anyone believe a word you say? If you had any balls, you would have revealed yourself already. But since you don't....
Anonymous said:
MEAT? You gotta get a sense of humor. I don't think anybody seriously thought Jessica Garrison was penning your stuff. Although like you she is an Antonio groupie. By the way, like that colorful tie you were wearing the other day.
Anonymous said:
What's the big fascination with Jessica Garrison? Whatevers. I just hope Matea Gold is covering some of this race for the LAT. She's a good reporter. And she's a foxy redhead at least when I worked with her years ago on campaigns.
So, does anybody have any romance rumors from City Hall? Come on there's got to be some that I have missed. You guys probably just want to talk about how bad Villaraigosa is for the City.
blah, blah, blah. It's the same old same old.
Go Eagles!!! I sure as hell hope none of you will be posting tomorrow during the game.
Anonymous said:
Ok, let's name names. Who is the councilwoman and who is the pollster?
More importantly, who is the councilmember and who was his girlfriend and the staffer who cried ?
Anonymous said:
You read Jessica Garrison's stories and definitely an ADV groupie. Her material is so biased and one sided. Maeta Gold and the other reporter thats out in the South is really good. Can't think of her name but wrote great stories. She works out of 77th Div. for LAT. When will we get rid of these tabloid journalists and bring back the good old hard nose reporters who know how to write.

Hey, Bonny. If Deane is Mayor Sam, then maybe his parallax girlfriend, Lee, is Chief Parker. Love, Scottfromtroi

Mayor Sam said:
No I am not Deane. The Chief is not a woman.
You guys have no idea who we are, and may never will.
And besides - the person who types these words and runs this blog is only but a vessel for the great Samuel Yorty to channel his thoughts on the current scene.

FROM MEAT:
Really colorful tie? Which color was it? Cause i hate ties normally.
blog away

The pollster is a city in Alaska (singular, not plural). The city councilwoman is related to the mayor. That's such old news it's like they're practically married. Except he is married.
Anonymous said:
MEAT = Mike Trujillo? It is so obvious. Good work Bonny! Shouldn't he be on AV's payroll instead of Rob Reiner's. Or at the very least shouldn't Rob Reiner have to report an IE.
Anonymous said:
I think I might have to make sure Lee Ann hears about this
Anonymous said:
So the city councilwoman is Janice Hahn. But who is the pollster?
