Mayor Hertzy Wants To Pump You Up!

Rick Orlov has a story in today's Daily News which impiles that Governor Schwarzenegger is leaning towards Bob Hertzberg. Mention is made of Bob's involvement with Arnold's transition team as well as the hope that the city's dwindling supply of Republicans could tip the balance for Huggy in a five man race (sorry Walter).

Also of note is Hugsberg's $99 a plate dinner which can fly just below the radar of the $100 contribution reporting requirement. Despite what you think of that, I think its a good thing for candidates to hold some cut rate fundraisers and let some of the smaller cats have a crack at you. In an election as tight as this one will be, every bit helps.

Gee, I wonder where Bob got the idea for $99? Could it have been the recallvillaraigosa.com site? Still no answer on how much money Bob was paid by Fleishman-Hillard.

Why are you so obsessed with this? No one has proven Hertzberg has done anything illegal. He's not the one the Feds are investigating. Sure he worked for FH, but its all part of the same revolving door everyone else goes through. Maybe not right, but not pay to play.

Red flag on Bob Hertzberg. Why in the world would he put a $99 cap on his campaign contributions unless he has something to HIDE? Not a great way to start a campaign being afraid to show people who's making contributions to you. Very sneaky I might add

FROM MEAT:

There is nothing wrong with a $99 fundraiser. It attracts more people - kinda like a $9.99 steak does as oppose to a $10 steak.

Plus anyone giving $99 bucks will never be the favorite amongst the politco types -- now the $1,000 donor thats the real milk.

That may be true Meat but it still sounds shady to common folks.

Hertzberg should rethink his campaign strategy. All the other candidates priority is public safety and Bob's priority is the schools. He doesn't have a plan to hire more cops like the rest of them. He's on another planet. Better get with the program BOB

It's no Mayor Hahn it's Tony. You gotta feel real sorry for Bobby though when another blogger posted that the Mayor has nothing to do with LAUSD
