As The CLA Turns

With the skids greased for Chief Legislative Analyst to be Poopy's pirate at DWP, the Council turns to finding his replacement.

Grand schemes are under consideration as to appointing an interim CLA, can that person apply for the permanent job, spending boatloads to do a nationwide search.

Is it one big giant exercise in futility?

Everyone knows it's Cindy, right? But she took herself out of the running. So inquiring minds want to know, who is the chosen one?

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

How about a one for three swap -- Ron Deaton for Raman Raj, Hal Lindsey, and Thomas Hokinson?

The leading names around the horseshoe are Arnie Berghoff, former CLA'er and big time lobbyist. The other is Adi Lieberman, former Chief Dep to Ruth Galanter. Both are highly regarded.......but would either take the pay cut??

The counsel should think out of the box and go after someone bright, articulate and with integrity. Find a good honest man or woman who knows something about the City, cares about the City and will make good decisions. Someone with both legal and business experience and not tied to Mayor or any particular council office. Some one with some maturity and isn't just all about the money. Look through the Valley, look through the Westside, all of LA and then make someone an offer. You might be surprised at what you would find.

Arnie Mean? Arnie is one of the few people around who understands politics and public policy. But...Mean? No way! He has the respect of most of the horseshoe 15...but no way he leaves the "big bucks" behind in the lobbying world.
